CHAPTER 250: HOW IT CAME TO BE [1]

[The skill energy sense is active]
Multiple layers of profound and fundamental change occurred in his entire existence. For the first time in a long time, Axel felt like himself, like the real Tyler Cross he was initially. The foreign influence of Axel Nomrad, which held him back and made him a bit too soft, was killed and purged. He had assimilated the capabilities of that being into himself as of this moment.
All the backlash that was weighing heavily on his body was now gone. He could feel his entire worldview change dramatically as his demon blood trembled with boundless sinister power. The demonic energy flowed through every part of his body; it was an energy far more violent, charged, uncontrollable, and negative.
A few more senses registered in his brain. Energy sense was what he already knew, but as it worked, coupled with the demonic energy, demonic energy under his very own control, it felt anew. Then there was the skill ’emotional sense’.
As he focused on the sensation provided by that skill, the devilishly unhinged laughter of his grew even louder, further deepening the absolute terror his ambushers were experiencing. And perhaps the most interesting was the perpetrator of this ambush himself. Ken Dusker’s mind was in complete denial; he rejected the reality even if it was something he was seeing with his very own eyes.
His laughter had stopped by now. Axel spread out his demonic energy within the surrounding area. Everywhere that energy passed by, everything it touched ended up dead. Even the seekers who were touched by that energy could feel the corrosive and abnormally powerful nature of that energy.
An overwhelming demonic pressure spread in the surroundings, which made their very souls shudder. Their instincts compelled them to flee instantly, overwhelmed by the fear that emanated from their deepest, most profound depths. Ken Dusker remained frozen in his place, still in denial of the reality. He finally asked Axel in a trembling voice,
"What are you? I know you’re not Axel Nomrad. Are you a demon that hid inside his body or something? And now that he is dead, you took over his body?"
"Yes, yes, yes, that must be it, he is dead, he is definitely dead, he is," he continued muttering like a madman, more to himself than Axel perhaps.
The demonic figure of Axel chuckled in his monstrous voice and commanded, "KNEEL"
A wave of Demonic energy pressed onto the figure of Ken Dusker, forcing him to kneel, his head pressed onto the ground as if in a motion of begging. Axel stepped closer while tears fell from Ken’s eyes, fear overtaking his pride, his vengeance, his reasoning. His body was shaking, hearing the footsteps come closer, his eyes widened in a horrifying realization. Isn’t that precisely what he did? The way he had come close to the incapacitated Axel Nomrad, and now the same was happening to himself.
Axel put one foot above the head of the Dusker heir, dirtying his hair with the mud sticking under his shoes and stated in his inhumane voice, "You asked why? Why is it always me? Why does everything go my way? As if the world somehow revolves around me, eh? You want to know why?"
Axel took a dramatic pause, putting more force behind his legs, as the head of Ken Dusker continued to be shoved down into the ground. He iterated in a deeper, more furious tone, "BECAUSE MY OBSESSION IS GREATER THAN YOURS."
Thud...
Then, with a loud stomp on his head, Ken turned unconscious. Axel turned around, his murderous, demonic eyes seeing through the countless trees and vegetation of the forest. Nothing could hinder his predatory eyesight. In just a few seconds, he identified all 20 of the seekers who ran in different directions, but it was too easy for him to follow them. The trail of overwhelmingly thick fear that they left in their path shone as bright as daylight, thanks to the skill and the interconnected relation of ’emotions’ with his chaosblood aspect.
With a gentle push of his foot, his figure seemed to disappear, displaying the overpowering speed and strength his current partial Demonification possessed that transcended the very upper limit of human capability by an extensive margin. And the usual restrictive pressure that the world Will applies to him also seems to be extremely loose in his current state. It hadn’t been more than a minute as they all ran away in fear just from the feeling of his demonic energy. And that short amount of time wasn’t nearly enough for them to get far enough.
Boom!
Shroom!
Crack!
Thud!
Axel bulldozed his way through any large trees or territory of other creatures, whether they lived alone or in packs. Just his demonic energy caused almost all the creatures within a specific range to flee in different directions, far away from this area. The fear of demons was something that was genetically encoded in all the species and creatures of the continent of Eldarion.
Soon, he reached that one person who uttered the word first, ’Demon.’ The seeker was still running with all of his might, running for his dear life, not knowing that the very devil he feared as the grim reaper of his life was right on his tail, exactly behind. Axel felt amused, feeling the intense fear from the seeker up close like that, while still running. Axel grabbed his fellow student’s neck. Though he didn’t recognize who exactly it was, or didn’t even care about it.
And because of inertia, as the student was running very fast, a pressure descended on his throat, and he felt like he was being choked. Axel let go of his neck at the moment, as the seeker gasped for breath, rolling on the ground. The student hurriedly looked backwards, fear so great in his eyes that he could almost have a panic attack at any given moment. Tears fell from his eyes out of fear.
Axel only grinned as he stared deep into the person’s eyes; his prey remained utterly frozen, paralyzed in terror just from looking at the demon’s eyes. Axel kicked at his head, putting some strength behind it, as the peak first phase seeker’s entire skull cracked and smashed into meat paste; the force of it was strong enough that it made a rain of white brain matter fall into that place. But most of it vaporized from the sheer force of it.
A disgusting amount of blood started to rush out of the neck of the headless body; A normal human would vomit and turn unconscious at that horror-stricken gory site, but Axel only felt the predatory thrill of killing his helpless, despairing prey.
