Chapter 272: Remember me?????

Sophia declared in a malevolent voice that sent chills down the spine of her second in command as well as the assistant, “YOU DO NOT QUESTION WHAT I ORDER, BUT SIMPLY OBEY.”

She stated again, leaning closer, “DO YOU UNDERSTAND?”

“Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes…….please forgive me, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I apologize, I forgot my place.”

The second in command got up from the ground, still trembling, and was unable to look at the monstrous red eyes of their guild leader. She bowed more than 90 degrees and backed away, leaving the room. Her soul shuddered even more, realizing just how close she had been to death. She was honestly asking to be killed for talking back to the guild leader like that; she should know more than anyone that this entire information network, built by her, was simply a means to an end for her real purpose.

For the longest time, the guild leader’s goal was always to find her mother and exact revenge on the bandits who had once looted her village and destroyed everything. And she was willing to go to any lengths to accomplish that; she had seen it with her own eyes, what kind of power she wielded, a true horror that walked through this world. She was no human. She was a monster wearing human skin.

Just as she had been ordered, without even a second’s delay, she relayed orders to all her spies everywhere, and using everything they had, they were all on the move, aggressively. This obviously resulted in multiple spies in important positions being exposed and caught red-handed, as they were attempting to gather information on any topic related to those five places.

Two days passed, and every single second of it was like pure torture for Sophia; even her superior and controlled mind couldn’t help but be anxious. She continuously read one report after another. No relevant news was found, despite extensive searching. However, at the very last hour of the second day, a crucial piece of information was discovered. A very old woman, nearing her deathbed, was able to reveal some information, including a description of a woman, that matched her mother.

A woman with a small burned mark on her chin, lifeless hollow eyes, was being carried somewhere through a carriage. She was treated like a caged animal in a way, but a few men were taking her away to some place. The old woman was also able to identify the carriage as having a specific symbol belonging to the baron. When Sophia read that information, she did not wait a single second more.

Using the fastest transportation method possible. She arrived in the town, straight into the house of the barren, and she released her killing intent just enough to make the barren become as submissive as a badly beaten cat. The proud noble Baron groveled in the ground like a dog, begging for his life and revealing every single bit of information. And there it was, the remnant survivors of the pillagers’ branch from the underground organization were indeed there, working on shady human trafficking under the Baron.

It was something hidden very, very well, to the point no external personnel knew of it, and the small Baron had some big goals about it, not that any of that mattered now, in hopes of saving his dog’s life, he spilled all the beans, the locations and operations and everything. Sophia instantly headed out to the area where her mother was likely kept. Finally, she knew it, it was there. At the very outskirts of the town, where illegal human trafficking was being held.

The moment she entered the place, she and her two underling assassins were blocked. Not in the mood for taking things cautiously, her dagger moved as smoothly as water, but without even a sound of ripple, a clean cut appeared on the necks of both guards. Blood started to come out just as silently. Not even a single drop of their blood stained her dagger. She was just that skilled now.

The guards slumped to the ground unceremoniously, and all hell broke loose as all the bandits started attacking her. Still, the two skilled female assassins she brought alongside took care of most of them, as her red eyes darted around everywhere in search of one of two familiar faces, one being her mother, the other being the pillager. She went deeper inside the area, unable to see either of the two faces. All of a sudden, the world stopped as her eyes landed on a dirty-looking man, who seemed to be quite scared and was desperately trying to hide himself.

Out of nowhere, the sound of a powerful lightning resounded from the heavens. As if even the skies were afraid of what was about to happen. Her dark, predatory red eyes flickered with murderous joy, and the smile behind her mask widened hideously. An unmistakable and wretched chuckle escaped from her lips. Ten fucking years, for ten fucking years she had primarily been searching for this bastard. A sudden realization dawned on her, perhaps what she was searching for wasn’t her mother, but rather the target of her hatred.

The hatred she shall let out with all of her wicked malevolence, her killing intent pressed onto the figure of the old bandit. The bandit froze in his tracks. His eyes widened, and he felt a fear so great that his mind was unable to register it completely, for that alone could break his mind into a thousand pieces; the brain automatically took the best route to protect itself. Sophia ordered in a whisper to the two assassins she brought along, “Kill them all.”

Two unified voices resounded in response, “Understood.” x2.

As such, everyone on that first underground floor was killed without mercy; the old bandit watched in terror of the slaughter that took place there. It’s not like it was the first time he was seeing a massacre, oh no, he himself had participated in too many of them to be stunned by that sight of mere hundreds of people being killed. Instead, this made a particular memory resurface in his mind.

Ten years ago, a little ten-year-old girl had killed 50 of his fellow pillagers, a small girl whose eyes would shimmer in a reddish hue from time to time as she had killed them all one after another.

As the man turned around, he saw a women tight black clothes, a busty figure, an incredibly curvy body that even her slightly loose dress failed to hide it, and a unique mask on her face, any man would be unable to move their eyes from her figure, despite every inch of her body being covered, and only her eyes could be seen, and those eyes was that of a monster.

The unsettling laughter of the masked women reached the bandit’s ears. Her voice was beautiful, too beautiful to listen to, and that very fact made the heart of the man shudder in fear. He involuntarily took a few steps back. He shouted, “No…..no no no, don’t come closer.”

But a greater smile dawned on Sophia’s lips when she heard that, and she paused in her tracks, stopping her laughter. She asked the bandit in her melodious voice, dripping with honey, “Don’t you remember me, you wretch?”
