Extra’s Path To Demon King
Chapter 276: Bloody Ballerina
CHAPTER 276: BLOODY BALLERINA
All of the experienced and strongest royal guards fought with all of their might. But the combat skills of Sophia had also far surpassed human capacity; she was not simply a brute who relied on strength. It’s precisely because she was the most efficient killer that she needed to be feared so greatly. Entering the throne room, her red eyes met with those of the king, who was seated on the royal throne. Strangely, there was no fear in his eyes, but only resolve.
The king’s eyes narrowed, already knowing that what stood in front of him was nothing human about it. How she effortlessly killed the best-trained assassins of the kingdoms, the best knights and warriors, none stood a chance. All of their bodies were cut in half from that white form of energy the masked woman was using.
The king’s authoritative voice boomed within the palace, not a trace of fear in it, "What are you? And who sent you?"
Sophia chuckled, seeing the king still maintaining his dignity perfectly, "No one sent me, my dear king, do you think no one knew of the breeding ground you’re operating, how you’re raising humans like cattle. Completely loyal from the very birth."
"Not a very proper thing to do for a king? Is it?"
The king’s eyes widened, and he became furious, "You dare slander this king, with such disgusting accusations?"
Sophia let out a small laugh that spread through the throne room like a ripple, "You misunderstand your majesty, does it look like I need to slander you? And do you think someone is capable of sending me? A close person of mine, someone whom I once cared for, suffered greatly because of your heinous deeds, and the crown prince, as such, I have decided to slaughter the entire royal family. Your family is an annoyance. It’s as simple as that, nothing more and nothing less."
Terror finally became evident on the face of the king, his eyes darted over his children, wives and all those he cared about, he ordered in a fearful voice to all the remaining royal guards, who were also trembling in fear, "Kill Her, NOW,,,,,,,,,"
Sophia’s red eyes flickered, and she smiled behind her mask. Two sharp daggers appeared in both of her hands, and she slaughtered them all; none were spared. Not just the royal family or the guards, she also killed every single innocent worker of the palace. Making sure that no one would know what actually happened there, because a human mind would never be able to think that one single individual did all of this. However, they would only believe that it was intentionally made to look that way.
The royal palace on that day was bathed in blood. She changed her clothes because they were covered in red. She sent a message to her information guild, telling them to spread the information that every single member of the royal family had all been slaughtered without exception. And it was all the work of a neighboring country, which had a bad relationship with their kingdom. Under her command, the spies of the information guild also delivered this news to the surrounding kingdoms with proof.
Due to the urgency of the situation, they had no time to think clearly. Because of the sudden death of the whole royal family out of nowhere, the insides of the kingdom erupted in internal chaos, as everyone wanted to take control and become the next royal family. The surrounding forces all took advantage of this to the fullest as war erupted from all sides.
And this became a catalyst, which started a war between many kingdoms, resulting in countless deaths, tragedies, and many lives were lost. And since Sophia was the one who orchestrated this whole thing, she continued to receive the energy from each of the deaths unendingly. Of course, it doesn’t mean that she would continue to receive the flow of energy if she did not actively participate in the massacre anymore. So, with some breaks in between, she continued to kill the royal families of the other kingdoms one after the other.
Plunging the world into more chaos. By this time, the rumor about the Bloody Ballerina spread throughout the continent. How a woman covered in blood from head to toe, her face covered in a mask, was always seen after every major slaughter. How she would not even spare children, all would be killed by her regardless, as long as she targeted any royal family of any kingdom. None could ever stop her.
She became the source of nightmarish tales that would be told to children to put them to sleep. Even the most rural of the villagers knew of her stories of merciless slaughters. Wherever she was to be spotted, only death would follow. She was death incarnate, taking on a living form.
Sophia spent one year doing all that, now with sufficient power in hand, now it was time, to go back finally, she was now going back to the very village it all started, and after a month of travel, she had arrived on the same place she had once left, the place where she first killed someone in this life. As she neared the hidden entrance of the village, there were a few strong-looking guards stationed there.
It seemed much had changed; the guards instinctively tensed, looking at her suspicious figure, since her whole body and face were covered, and even though she was also concealing her entire presence with that white energy, her existential presence remained silently overwhelming.
She stated, controlling her voice to make it seem as normal as possible, "I’m here for my brother, Samir."
The guards tensed even more, looking at her with more wariness, "You are village chief Samir’s sister? His younger sister?"
Sophia nodded, not willing to speak more than necessary. They asked her again, not believing in her words, "Then why is your entire self covered like that? Even your face is hidden behind a mask. What proof do you have that you are his younger sister?"
Sophia had the urge to kill them both, but held herself back, simply killing everyone in the village won’t unlock much of her strength. With a reserved sigh, she asked them, "Then call him, he will recognize my voice instantly, and no, I cannot show my face. I abhor showing my face to anyone, except for my own family."
