Extraordinary Voyage
Chapter 163: Dragon-slaying Sword: Siegfried
The "Divination Art" on Aiven's side has been interrupted, but the distant battle is far from over.
Anita, in an intense fight with the demons, is not completely unaware of the commotion below the city. Moreover, the Sea Dragon using its innate magic ability to resist the bombardment and charge towards the city walls makes such a ruckus that it's impossible to ignore.
Facing the pouncing Sea Dragon.
The Female Knight dares not to block head-on; even a Peak Knight at its limit, with a strength attribute not exceeding 5 points, how could one possibly compare to this colossal, tough-scaled draconic demon?
Human Extraordinary beings excel through the wisdom they possess and the endless array of extraordinary abilities passed down through the ages, rather than through constitution.
Temporarily letting go of the other approaching demons, Anita steps aside to avoid the fierce attack.
Boom——
In the next moment, a massive creature crashes on the city wall. The juvenile Sea Dragon clutches the parapet with its forepaws, its lower body still hanging in mid-air, already impatient to snap forward!
Its head taller than a grown man, its mouth wide open revealing sword-like sharp white teeth and a long slick pale purple tongue, the intense stench enough to make one vomit.
A sub-dragon is a sub-dragon, after all. Even with pure bloodlines, it cannot escape the shackles of beast nature, and compared to giant dragons—a wise and even civilized entity—it resembles more of a demon with a deceptively similar appearance, unable to transcend its nature!
Crack——
In a split second, Anita strides with her legs clad in tight leather pants, like an agile large feline, almost turning into a fleeting shadow to deftly dodge.
But behind her, a crew member from the "Golden Horn Deer" lacks such dexterity, failing to evade the monstrous maw and is bitten instantly, not even making a sound before departing this life.
"Donald!!"
Seeing the ground reduced to two remaining stumps, Anita is heartbroken and furious.
Six years ago, during the tumultuous night she narrowly escaped, utterly exhausted, she was captured by a group of slave traders from the Sak Empire aboard a slave ship. Had it not been for the timely plundering by the previous captain of the "Golden Horn Deer," she dared not imagine what fate could have befallen her.
About half a year ago.
The old pirate captain, though cunning, still retained some semblance of humanity. On his deathbed, he entrusted this "Golden Horn Deer" to her, hoping she would care for the crew.
After the old captain passed, to maintain the "Golden Horn Deer" standing in this pirate city, she maneuvered and conspired with the old foxes in "Sunken Ship Bay," recently regaining recognition.
Just as she was about to lead her crew out to sea to make their mark, they encountered this annual "Mist Sea Revolt," targeted by this infernal Sea Dragon!
Over these six years, she spent most of her time aboard this pirate ship, long having considered these individuals, seen as ruthless pirates by others, her allies, and the closest family besides her brother Aiven, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
The voice of the old pirate captain seemed still to echo in her ears, now witnessing a companion brutally killed before her eyes, Anita is beyond furious!
Bang! Bang! Bang!...
Just then, the Firearms Team belonging to the pirate city arrives. Defending the city wall is not solely someone's or some family's affair; a Sea Dragon, capable of disrupting battlefield balance, charging itself up the walls leaves no room for indifference.
"Quick, drive it away!"
However, the mere lead bullets have a minimal restraining effect on the Sea Dragon; the scales covering its body are not just for show. By simply closing its eyes, it dismisses the so-called Firearms Team directly.
But right now, the forces within the "Pirate City" are limited; all peak tier official knights are already entangled with the swarming demons, leaving no spare forces for support.
In truth, though many pirates have experienced the Mist Sea Revolt multiple times, there was always a Pirate King on rotation to stabilize the situation, never has it been so perilous.
Anita is well aware of this too, knowing reinforcements are unlikely to arrive shortly.
Yet, seeing the still bleeding wound on the Sea Dragon from previous cannon fire, Anita grits her teeth, knowing she still has a chance.
Taking advantage of the Sea Dragon's momentary distraction by the Firearms Team, Anita pounds the flamboyantly styled, gold-letter-decorated giant sword onto the ground, easily shattering a wall brick beneath her feet.
Clang——
The mechanism clicks open, and Anita's slender right hand grips the sword hilt, slowly lifting it.
Shhh!
A glint of mirror-bright sword blade emerges from the giant sword, plain and devoid of any decoration, only... intensely sharp! Bone-chilling!
The ostentatious giant sword is evidently just a disguise; the internal one is its true form, still a giant sword!
With both hands, she holds the unadorned longsword in front of her, gazing at the mirror-finished, fluid sword ridge, the Female Knight slowly announces its name:
"Dragon-slaying Sword: Siegfried!!!"
Rumored to be named after Siegfried, the legendary hero who once accomplished a dragon-slaying feat, this sword, apart from being an extraordinary weapon, possesses a formidable deterrence against dragon-vein creatures!
She stumbled upon this giant sword and its corresponding Extraordinary Swordsmanship during an encounter, yet she's unsure if its origins truly lie with the ancient hero of legend.
"Hah!"
With a single hand, she lightly glides her fingers across the spine of the sword, where a line of silver inscriptions quietly glows, and the chilling aura instantly makes the nearby Sea Dragon feel as if it has fallen into an ice cave.
A massive sense of crisis immediately rouses it from the frenzy of wantonly slaughtering mortal Pirates. Just as it turns its head, all it sees is a dazzling white sword light filling its vision.
"What?!"
As if answering its query, a woman's soft reprimand echoes from within the sword light:
"Physical Liberation one hundred percent!!!"
[Secret Sword Art: Reverse Dragon Song!]
When an Official Knight reaches their peak by maximizing the ferocity of their physical form to become a Peak Knight, they further control their feral bodies through Breathing Techniques and self-suggestion.
Strength gradually releases, balancing the delicate control between frenzy and reason. To fully adapt to one hundred percent Physical Liberation means possessing the qualifications to advance to a Great Knight.
Anita has evidently reached this crucial point.
And naturally, the only pair to the Dragon-slaying Sword can be the legendary "Dragon-Slaying Swordsmanship"!
Before breaking through to Official Knight, Anita discovered herself to be born with both agility and strength. Although the family-inherited "White Sail Swordsmanship" greatly matched her, the "Dragon-Slaying Swordsmanship," which also emphasizes dual attributes of strength and agility, felt even more custom-tailored.
In just a few short years, Dragon-Slaying Swordsmanship surpassed the Master-level of "White Sail Swordsmanship," reaching the "Master" level first and attaining the hallmark of power — Sword Qi — that allows her to barely contend with Tier 3 Great Knights.
The combination of Secret Swordsmanship, Dragon-slaying Sword, and Master-level Sword Qi is already lethal to the half-step Tier 3 young Sea Dragon.
This is the perfect fusion of knightly strength and sword technique and represents the strongest sword she can currently wield!
Rip—
Roar—
In the blinding white light, the dragon's roar sharpens to a screech as dragon blood sprays forth.
The massive body of the Sea Dragon plummets from the city walls, crashing heavily into the densely packed horde of Demons below, sending a storm of blood and rain.
If not for pulling free its claws gripping the city walls to instinctively block Anita's Dragon-slaying Sword at the last moment, it might not have escaped with just severe injuries.
However, it wasn't over.
Before the severely injured young Sea Dragon could swiftly escape under the cover of the Demons, the valiant female Swordsman on the city wall had already descended like a meteoric drop!
Whoosh!
At this moment, Anita was far from the pampered young lady of the Baron family she was years ago.
Years of pirate life taught Anita many things, most importantly, the ruthless determination to utterly eliminate enemies! Never allow an opponent the opportunity to lick their wounds and return!
Because, as a "Pirate," a single slip means the end of one's life!
Yet, at this time.
The most unfortunate was the young Sea Dragon.
Its clan had just sworn allegiance to the great Ancient Demon God Loygor, becoming servants of this grand being (who fell from True God Status during the Era Catastrophe), with hopes of proving their worth by making achievements.
But one rash adventure led it to the most precarious moment of its draconic life, watching with despair as the Sword Qi meteor relentlessly pursued it, raising a futile ocean tide to engulf it, lamenting in its heart:
"Ah! Why would a place like 'Pirate City' have the legacy of a Dragon Slayer?!"
The tide posed no hindrance to the female Knight, her fierce, merciless glare facing the Sea Dragon's cries without a hint of compassion as the sharp white light flickered and vanished.
Ching—
Anita turned back toward the city wall as dragon blood gushed hotly from the Sea Dragon's chest, drenching the girl through completely.
Thud—
The giant beast collapsed with a heavy thud, but its remaining awe kept the surrounding Demons at a distance for a long time.
"Thankfully... it was a dragon!"
With a light flick, the Dragon-slaying Sword was pristine as new, without a single trace of blood.
