Falling for My Contractual Wife
Chapter 822
"The day after tomorrow," Serena replied.
Justin said, "Then Tiffany wille over at mealtime these two days. You can tell her what you like to eat."
"Okay."
Justin quickly finished breakfast and returned to his room to change his clothes.
He walked to the table and ced a bank card on it. "Take this card. The password was on the card. You can buy whatever you like."
Serena raised her head and looked at him. He had already turned around and left.
She looked at the card in a daze, unable to feel happy. ''When he said he would take care of me, did he mean he would be responsible for my clothes, food, and amodation?''
She suddenly found the fish soup in her mouth tasteless.
The days went by quickly. After a few days, Serena started working. The way she and Justin got along was no different from roommates.
She and Justin could only talk at the dining table every day. She tried her best to make their rtionship return to its previous state, but she realized that no matter what topic she brought up, he could end the conversation with just a few words. Serena was frustrated, but she persisted every day. Just like when they were ordinary friends, she tried to find something to chat about.
On this day, Tiffany took a leave of absence. Coincidentally, Serena didn''t need to go to work, so she bought many ingredients and wanted to cook a meal herself.
When Justin returned, she was looking at the recipe while cutting vegetables.
Hearing themotion in the kitchen, Justin walked over to take a look. However, Serena was distracted and cut her finger.
"Hiss..." Serena hissed in pain.
Justin frowned and walked over in a few steps. He picked up her hand and rinsed it under the tap.
"How could you be so careless?" he asked.
Serena tilted her head and nced at him. This was the closest they had been since that night.
Justin washed her fingers and said, "I''ve already said that I''ll take care of you. Why should you do these things?" There was a faint note of reproach in his tone.
Serena''s heart sank a little, and she said jokingly, "Don''t tell me you want to raise me like a pig."
Justin looked at her and turned off the kitchen fire. He took her hand and led her to the living room.
Then, he opened the first aid kit and took out the gauze. "I owe you. I want to do my best to make it up to you."
Serena''s heart sank. ''Is he not even willing to joke with me now?''
She pulled her hand out and applied iodophor on herself. "Justin, why do you think I''m the one who has suffered a loss?"
She disinfected her injured fingers without changing her expression and said casually, "It''s a matter
between a man and a woman. et
consensual. I don''t think anyone
owes anyone anything, so don''t say such things anymore."
Justin looked at her and frowned slightly. His expression did not rx much.
He looked at her clumsy movements and snatched the gauze from her hand, carefully bandaging her.
"Just sit here. I''ll cook," he said.
During dinner, Serena said, "Our hospital has a rehabilitation medical seminar in
two days. I might need to go on a business trip for two days."
Justin ate and said without looking up, "I''ll go too."
Serena raised her head and looked at him with surprise in her eyes. "Really?"
"Yeah."
"Then I''ll help you pack your clothes."
"No need. I can pack it myself."
Serena paused for a moment and lowered her head to eat. She said
nothing else, thinking, ''What am I
thinking? He must be unwillinget
admit he is my husband in front of his colleagues. Therefore, he won''t go with me.''
