The disciplinary hall was at the peak of an independent mountain near the centre of the sect.

When Zhen Yuan and Shen Xu arrived, they found more than one hundred cultivators waiting in the hall.

’What a circus.’ Shen Xu thought, but his face was expressionless.

"Stand at the centre." Elder Lan said and pointed at the position.

However, everyone could see he was just going through the motions and wasn’t really apologetic.

Seeing this, Luo Jianfeng sighed.

’Have these two kids eaten a bear’s gall?’ He wondered and deeply regretted his involvement with them.

’I always knew my love for wine would lead me into trouble, but I didn’t expect the trouble to be so nonsensical.’ He thought and hoped the two brats would suddenly enlighten some common sense before it was too late.

"You are deeply sorry?" The woman sneered and quickly continued.

"Countless Ten Evils sect cultivators have tried to infiltrate our sect, but you are the most brazen. What is your purpose? What is the purpose of the Ten Evils sect?" She accused, and Shen Xu sighed with a helpless expression.

"Where is the evidence that we are disciples of the Ten Evils sect?" He questioned.

"What other reason is there to enter my Tianxuan sect under false pretences?"

Not wanting to continue the back and forth, Zhen Yuan squeezed Shen Xu’s hand and looked at the disciplinary hall elders.

"Elders, we still have things to do..." He said and tilted his head to urge the group.

The elders were furious when they saw this.

Most had been elders of the disciplinary hall for thousands of years, but had never encountered such an outrageous situation.

Normally, all suspects that were invited to the disciplinary hall either looked frightened or ready to flee.

However, Shen Xu and Zhen Yuan were different.

At a glance, they looked like the trip to the disciplinary was a casual call rather than an interrogation.

Fortunately, the elders were not easily dissuaded and immediately began their plan.

"You successfully crossed the Heart Revealing Lake, but we must still check your qi. Do you object?" An elder asked, and the two shook their heads.

A moment later, a disciple put a table in front of them and placed a qi test crystal on top of the table.

"This qi test crystal will check the purity of your qi." An elder started and quickly continued.

"The qi purity of ordinary cultivators is between fifty and seventy. That of gifted cultivators is between seventy-one and ninety-five, while that of those who rely on pills and such is between thirty-one and forty-nine."

"As for evil cultivators...." The elder started, narrowed his eyes, and continued.

"Regardless of their cultivation path, no evil cultivator has a qi purity value of more than twenty-nine." He said.

Shen Xu was surprised when he heard this.

He and Zhen Yuan also had a qi test crystal.

However, their qi test crystal only checked the elemental composition of a cultivator’s qi but didn’t go into fine detail about purity.
