Falling into the Love Trap of My First Love's Daughter
Chapter 24 – Misunderstood Love
Chen Xi hated this feeling.
Absolutely hated it.
That brainless woman with a big chest had been chattering non-stop since she got in the car, telling jokes that only she and Yan Feng could understand, completely ignoring her in the back seat.
Just like now, Gu Qing, who was holding the steering wheel, was smiling as she said, "Little Madman, did you know? President Lu, who used to have dinner with us, was a real heartthrob when he was young!"
Yan Feng frowned, thinking of the man's "generous" belly and "brilliant" mind, and couldn't help but twitch his lips.
"Who told you that?"
"Ah, you don't know, do you?"
Gu Qing raised her little face and continued, "Back then, he was a strong competitor of my dad. He only came to our city because he couldn't continue in foreign trade due to some issues. I've even seen his photos!"
The man was skeptical but didn't take it to heart.
He was just holding his phone, browsing through the files and contracts sent by colleagues while checking on other company matters.
A notification sounded, and Yan Feng glanced at the message, then said:
"Little Wang says he's not feeling well and wants to take a day off tomorrow. Can he?"
"Little Wang? Which Little Wang?" Gu Qing said nonchalantly, "I don't know him. Anyway, Little Madman, you decide. If it exceeds the monthly leave, just deduct his salary."

Hearing this, Yan Feng pursed his lips, agreed to the request, but didn't report it to finance. After all, everyone was just working, and this colleague rarely took leave in his memory, so he thought he should help if he could.
Meanwhile, sitting in the back seat, Chen Xi was gritting her teeth, staring at a spot on the leather seat, scratching it with her nails as if venting her anger.
After a stretch of road, the car fell into a brief silence.
Yan Feng was the first to speak.
"Little Xi," the man suddenly turned his head from the passenger seat, startling her as she was venting on the seat, "You looked unhappy when you came out just now. Did something happen at school?"
Chen Xi quickly withdrew her fingers, swallowed, and forced down her panic, lying:
"No."
Her self-protective instincts were so strong that she showed very few signs of distress, and without careful observation, it was hard to tell. Instead, her overly suppressed emotions made her seem like she didn't want to talk to anyone, cold and aloof.
Seeing this, the man naturally couldn't continue the conversation and had to turn back, listening to Gu Qing chat about office gossip.
Fortunately, throughout the process, he only nodded passively, without any other intimate gestures, allowing Chen Xi in the back seat to calm down.
But even so, she stared at the woman like a protective kitten, making the other shiver from time to time and complain repeatedly.
When they got home and got out of the car, Gu Qing leaned against the car window and asked, "Hey, Little Madman, I've brought you and the young girl home. Aren't you going to invite me up for a bit?"
But Yan Feng shook his head directly, saying skillfully, "No need, boss. Let's keep work and personal matters separate. Just try to come early tomorrow morning."
"Tsk, you're still the same!" The woman couldn't help but complain, but she didn't seem angry, "Then I'll just leave. See you tomorrow!"
"See you tomorrow."
Yan Feng bid farewell to the woman, watched her car drive away, and as soon as he turned around, he met a pair of scrutinizing eyes.
"Who is she?"
The young girl's voice carried an undeniable authority and an extremely cold tone, leaving him a bit stunned. He could only awkwardly smile and ask back:
"Little Xi, what's wrong? Why do you look so upset?"
"I asked you, who is she?"
Repeating the question, her voice remained icy. Yan Feng couldn't figure out what she meant, so he had to answer stiffly, "Didn't I introduce her to you before? She's my boss."
The young girl stared into his eyes, as if trying to discern the hidden truth. After a long while, she hesitantly asked:
"Really just your boss?"
"What else?" Yan Feng retorted, shrugging, and walked past her into the building, not forgetting to say, "Hey, don't worry. I'm not going to get a girlfriend."
This sentence struck the young girl like a bolt from the blue, numbing her from head to toe. She turned her head stiffly, looking at the man's figure and his still warm smile.
"Don't worry," Yan Feng patted the young girl's head, smiling, "Since your sister entrusted you to me, I must take responsibility for you. Until you can work, earn money, and live independently, I won't get a girlfriend."
He looked at the dazed young girl in front of him, finding her incredibly cute, and ruffled her hair again, continuing:
"So relax, Little Xi. With me here, no one will bully you."
Feeling the touch on her head, Chen Xi finally snapped back to reality, instinctively shaking her head to escape the hand's caress. But the next second, she stood still, looking at the man's arm still suspended in the air, biting her lip, a strange sense of regret welling up in her heart.
