Falling into the Love Trap of My First Love's Daughter
Chapter 45 – Fight
Time flew by, and before she knew it, it was the next day. The weather remained clear, but her heart was still clouded with gloom.
Some things, once broken, can never be fixed.
When Chen Xi got up in the morning, her eyes were still swollen from crying the night before. Her entire being exuded a dark aura, somewhat intimidating.
Entering the kitchen, the table was still set with the pre-prepared buns and fried dough sticks, but the man’s presence and his gentle smile were missing.
Chen Xi squinted her eyes, ate her breakfast in silence, and headed to school.
Normally, Yan Feng would ride his electric scooter to take her, but since her confession failed last night, he began to silently avoid her. She had no choice but to take the bus to university alone.
On the way, the young girl’s expression was terrifyingly gloomy. She sat in a corner without saying a word, and the passengers nearby didn’t dare to sit next to her, each one on edge, fearing they might get involved in unnecessary trouble.
She picked up her phone, the screen showing several missed calls. She had called Yan Feng nearly a dozen times on the way, but all she got was the cold, electronic female voice.
He hadn’t turned off his phone, and she wasn’t blocked; he was just refusing to answer, over and over, tirelessly.
Chen Xi sneered.
So, now that he knew she liked him, he wanted to distance himself and dilute their feelings?
How naive...
After all... it was he who kissed her first last night...
At the stop, she got off the bus, her face cold as she walked to the classroom, returning to her seat in the corner under the bewildered or surprised gazes of her classmates.
Her current demeanor and aura were a far cry from the goddess who performed on stage a few days ago. The light in her eyes had vanished, leaving only malice and resentment.
Such a stark contrast would make any passerby think it strange, and even close friends would choose to avoid her, lest they become her punching bag.
However, Xue Lan, with her curious nature, ignored the almost tangible anger surrounding the young girl and directly asked:
"Xi Xi, what’s wrong? You look terrible, did something happen?"
Chen Xi glanced at her coldly, her gaze icy.
But the thick-skinned Xue Lan wasn’t afraid, she just blinked and continued to ask shamelessly, "What’s up? Did you have a fight with him?"
"No!"
The young girl, like a cat whose fur had been ruffled, bared her sharp canine teeth at her friend, trying to hide her defeat: "Don’t bother me!"
With that, Chen Xi turned her head, gritting her teeth, completely ignoring her friend who was startled by her earlier demeanor.
The anger accumulated in her heart, unable to be vented, turned into external restlessness. At this moment, she couldn’t concentrate on any class, just drawing stick figures on paper, then stabbing them with paper knives...
Class was over.
The bell rang.
Xue Lan, who had been watching Chen Xi the entire class, wanted to say something comforting, but without any clue as to the cause, she could only sit there anxiously.
She was like a powder keg about to ignite, unable to relieve herself, and if she didn’t vent, something big would happen.
Coincidentally, a commotion arose at the door as a crowd gathered, seemingly discussing something.
A stranger woman then stuck half her body inside, standing by the podium, hands on hips, angrily shouting:
"Dare to seduce someone else’s boyfriend but not admit it, huh? Who here is called Chen Xi?"
Xue Lan immediately sensed something was wrong, quickly turning to stop her, but saw the young girl, who had been filled with malice moments ago, now wearing a sinister smile as she slowly stood up and walked forward...
Meanwhile, at the company.
Yan Feng was the first to clock in today, not because he got up early, but because he hadn’t slept all night.
The events of last night caught him off guard. Before that, he always thought Chen Xi was just a reclusive little girl, thinking she was overly needy due to living under someone else’s roof for over a year. But the girl’s words were nothing like he imagined...

Bai Xi, his elder sister... she wasn’t like that...
Yan Feng tried to recall, searching for flaws in Bai Xi, but so many years had passed, and the woman’s image in his mind had long been idealized into a flawless goddess. How could there be any flaws?
He couldn’t imagine what happened to Bai Xi after she was taken away. In just a few short years, how could a gentle and kind woman turn into what Chen Xi described...
His faith was shaken, leaving him restless, but even more difficult to resolve was the love the young girl expressed towards him.
Yan Feng admitted, he did spoil Chen Xi too much, he knew that, but it was only because he felt the girl was overly pitiful, overly needy, and wanted to give her a bit more care...
Sitting at his desk, the man closed his bloodshot eyes, shaking his head, trying to clear his mind.
In truth... the real reason for taking care of Chen Xi... he knew very well... but he dared not face it, not even for a glance...
Clearly just looking for another person’s shadow in someone else, yet accidentally giving more...
An error in cause leads to an error in effect, he had already made a mistake and couldn’t continue!
Pulling back in time, distancing himself from Chen Xi, waiting for her to stop liking him, then guiding her correctly, was the best solution.
Yan Feng believed that her saying those words was just a spur of the moment, a heat of passion, after all, she was a teenage girl, some youthful stirrings were normal.
He was sure he could handle this!
With such self-reassurance, the man finally breathed a sigh of relief and continued with today’s work.
But for some reason, even though in front of him were just printed words on white paper, he kept seeing the girl’s crazed look from last night...
A throbbing headache spread throughout his body...
Blame it on... she’s just too beautiful... and too much like her mother...
Yan Feng tried to force himself to focus on work, but it was futile, so he chose a simpler, more direct method.
Push-ups.
Like Amon Koutarou from Tokyo Ghoul, unable to control his thoughts, he used a lot of physical labor to exhaust himself to the point of not being able to think.
The good news was, it worked, though tiring, he really didn’t think about last night’s events anymore.
The bad news was, his phone on the desk vibrated.
The man stood up, clapped his hands, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and looked at the phone screen... only to find it was Chen Xi’s homeroom teacher’s number!
Instinctive worry made him answer without thinking, and then his pupils contracted, and he rushed out of the office like a gust of wind.
He even ignored Feng Yao, who was lurking sneakily by the door.
