Chapter 151: I am definitely calling the police if you touch my nephew!
CHAPTER 151: I AM DEFINITELY CALLING THE POLICE IF YOU TOUCH MY NEPHEW!
Raphael’s POV
An hour later,
Step...
Step....
Step.....
"Come on, Raphael! I said I’m sorry!! Please don’t leave me!!" Her pained, pitiful voice echoed behind me, bouncing off the empty street like a desperate cry.
And you know what... I didn’t give a single damn about it! Not this time.
I quickened my pace, my heels striking harder against the pavement as if I could leave behind her chaos along with her words.
Walking?
Yeah... the shitty woman just roamed around the empty city where not a single freaking store was open, burned through all her car’s fuel, and now... I was forced to walk home with her in the middle of this freaky night!
"I am so sorry, please believe me... those bitches betrayed me... please, darling, don’t leave me," she cried, clinging onto me like I was her lover or something.
"Arh," I groaned in pure annoyance, spinning toward her furiously. "I told you there wouldn’t be a freaking store open! And yet you still roamed around the entire damn city..." I barely managed to control the anger boiling in my chest.
She instantly turned pitiful, raising her hands like a beggar, "Please forgive this innocent soul, I would never ever do that again... please, you know how I love to drink at night, and it’s been days since I’ve had a single drop... please, darling, believe me... I am sorry~"
I really wanted to smash her head into the nearest wall... but.
"Whatever..." I muttered with a shrug, shaking my head.
Her smile bloomed immediately, as if my half-hearted forgiveness had lifted the world off her shoulders.
She skipped happily beside me and said, "So... I’m staying at your house then?" Her cheeky grin made me want to regret every word.
"..." I wondered.... sometimes, I really wondered how my life would look if she weren’t in it.
Maybe... even more beautiful?
"Oi... there’s a dog shiting there ahaha," She said, laughing.
"...."
We walked together through the silent street. Not a single soul passed by. Unlike how it used to be filled with stores and people, but now the world was eerily quiet, and every echo of our footsteps bounced everywhere.
Dead silence!
I swallowed hard, throat tightening with unease, when suddenly—
"This would be a good time for exhibitionists to fuck in the road," she said in a casual tone, as if commenting on the weather.
I flinched, my face heating instantly as I whipped toward her. "What the hell are you talking about?!"
She just shrugged, "Well, I did have some patients... who wanted to fuck in the middle of the road."
"Eeeuu," I muttered with disgust, my stomach churning. What kind of insane patients did she even deal with?
Was this why she lost her mind, too?
Or... because she was like this, those patients came to her?
"Wait... I haven’t seen Leo in years... last time I saw him, he was such a cute little boy with a small pee-pee... he even cried when I pinched it... ahahah!"
"..." I stared at her blankly, my voice flat and cold, "Pedophile."
She froze, taken aback, her eyes widening. "Hey! I was just kidding... I’m not into children, you fucking shit head! What’s wrong with you? Have you lost your mind?"
"..." I kept staring at her, the silence pressing harder than words. It was enough to make her blush and turn her head away, coughing awkwardly.
I shook my head and continued walking, letting her nonsense roll off my shoulders while she babbled more bullshit beside me.
But then her tone softened slightly, almost curious. "But seriously... he must have grown, right? Is he handsome... or cute?"
"... Handsome," I muttered, the image of him now surfacing in my thoughts. Compared to before, he looked more handsome than simply cute.
"Oh? Good." She nodded as if she were checking something off in her head. "And how old is he now?"
"Well, seventeen. His birthday is coming soon."
"Oh? So... it’ll be legal then."
"... What? Legal?" I stared at her, my voice sharp, my whole body tensing.
"Are you freaking serious right now?"
She ignored my words as if they were thin air and added with a mischievous grin, "Hmm... I’m really wondering... has he grown big? I mean, not there... but yeah."
"I am definitely calling the police if you touch my nephew!" I snapped, my tone dead serious, my eyes narrowing so coldly it made her flinch in real fear.
"I-I’m just kidding, Raphael... please don’t call anyone... I don’t want to end up in prison!! Darling~" she whimpered, clasping her hands together as if begging for forgiveness.
I didn’t even bother replying. I simply continued walking, shaking my head.
She shouted like an idiot behind me, trailing after me with dramatic cries.
But then, as we walked further down the empty street, something caught our attention.
A small store... its lights faintly glowing.
We both frowned, exchanging uncertain looks, and cautiously approached. As we reached the front...
Just an empty shop.
My friend leaned forward, cupping her hands around her mouth. "Is there anybody?" she called out.
No answer.
Just dead silence.
A chill ran down my spine. Something felt wrong—terribly wrong. Then, when I looked down, I froze.
Blood.
A few drops scattered on the ground, gleaming faintly under the dim light. My throat went dry. I reached out, grabbing her sleeve tightly, and pointed at the floor with a trembling hand.
She blinked in confusion at first. But then her eyes widened, her face turning grave in an instant. Without hesitation, she seized my hand and yanked me back. "Move," she whispered harshly.
We walked quickly—no, almost running—putting distance between ourselves and that store. Neither of us said a word.
Only by the hurried echo of our footsteps in the empty street.
Then—
Flicker~
A streetlight buzzed and flickered weakly.
And under it... stood a dark figure.
My breath caught in my throat, heart hammering against my ribs. My friend’s grip on my hand tightened like iron, while my other hand shakily reached for my phone.
"H-ha... aha... who might you be?" she muttered, trying to sound strong, though I could feel the tremor in her voice. Her free hand slipped into her bag, fingers fumbling for something hidden.
The figure remained silent. Just standing there....
The light flickered again—
And it was gone.
My friend’s face paled as she suddenly pulled a gun out of her bag and pointed it wildly in every direction.
A gun?
She had one?
No—no, that wasn’t important right now!
"T-this is not funny, man!" she muttered, her voice breaking into a nervous stammer.
We needed to leave... Now.
We tried to run—
Thud!
Thud!
That was the last thing I remembered before everything went dark.
A voice followed in the abyss of my fading consciousness:
"We got enough food today. Let’s leave this place before those police come."
Meanwhile, the phone in the bag... the screen:
