Fated to the Alpha's Sons: An Omegas Rise to Fame
Chapter 119: Mia.
CHAPTER 119: MIA.
"Hmmm..." She sighed, digesting his words.
"Just give her a shot whenever you meet her next." Tristan suggested. "And, oh. She might know we’re mates." He added, tentatively.
That pulled her out of her thoughts. She stared at him with eyes widened in alarm. "How?! You promised!" She whisper-screamed with gritted teeth.
"Yes. And I didn’t break it, I swear." He said lifting his pinky, his face filled with worry.
Bethany’s angry gaze moved to his lifted pinky, before moving back to his face, her angry gaze mixed with one of confusion now.
Why a grown ass man had his pinky finger lifted in the air as he swore confused her like hell.
"So why and how did she know?" She asked, deciding to ignore the fact that her 6’7, intimidating, broody mate had his little finger up in the air, even though she silently found it cute.
"I rented the diner, Princess. And I brought you here with me. I always come here whenever I can, without renting out the place. So when she saw me come in with you, I knew she was going to figure it out, and the special extra wide grin she gave you only confirmed it. So I did keep my promise." He explained, putting down his hand.
"Technically." Bethany grunted, her arms folded across her chest. ’Just perfect. Now, someone from their pack knows their secret.’
"Bunny, I’m so sorry." Tristan couldn’t help but plead, his nervous thoughts trying as hard as possible to slip from his grip.
"No, it’s completely fine. Everyone is going to find out eventually, it’s only a matter of time." She said shrugging.
"No, Princess. They are only going to find out when you decide it’s time that they do, whichever way you want. I just felt you and her might get along since you guys are almost the same. I’m sorry for pushing." He pacified earnestly, his grey eyes peering into her brown pair.
"You seem so convinced that we’d work out. Why?" She couldn’t help but ask. Since he seemed so convinced, his reasons had to be very valid ones.
"She kinda went through the same thing you did." He replied tentatively, making sure to keep rubbing the back of her hand softly.
"Got bullied and ousted from all her social circles because she didn’t see things the way they wanted her to. So she and her parents decided to live outside the pack grounds. They come around a lot, but they don’t stay in the pack." He explained, weighing her reactions.
Bethany let her mind wander for a moment.
She hadn’t thought there were people who had cases as bad as she did. Hers was different because she never really fitted in with anyone of them throughout her childhood. All relationships she tried to have with them kept crashing due to one fall out of the other, so eventually she couldn’t help but feel like something was wrong with her, and to top it up; she was labelled ’The Weirdo’.
That name just sealed her fate. Luckily, Mia didn’t get such name.
"I’m sorry I pushed. I just felt that even though you might not see her all the time, It was going to feel good to know someone out there cares. Someone asides us and your parents." Tristan explained further, hoping it was going to help soften whatever blow she was going to land on him.
"It’s okay. I understand your concern. " She cooed, pausing. Swallowing she nodded. "I’d give it a try, although I’m rusty." She said, muttering the last part.
Tristan chuckled at her statement, the pressure in his chest letting up. "You’re not rusty, Bunny. You are completely fine." He cooed. "Thank you for deciding to give it a try."
"Thank you too for thinking ahead for me." She responded smiling lightly.
"Anytime." He said winking at her.
Just then, a set of light footsteps approached them gingerly, stopping at their table.
"I’m back to take your orders." Mia said softly, grinning at them both, but mostly at Bethany, her book balanced on her palm as she got ready to take down their orders.
"Hello, Mia." Bethany greeted, tentatively, whilst offering the nicest smile she could muster.
"Hello..."
"It’s Bethany. Bethany Sage." She said, putting out her hand for a handshake.
Mia stood rock still, shock and excitement swirling in her eyes as she stared at Bethany’s hand. She glanced at Tristan briefly, seeking for permission, and when he nodded, she returned the handshake gingerly, all her teeth on display.
"Oh, my God. I’m Mia. Mia Albert. You wouldn’t know me. I’m not always in the pack. But, I can be there for you. Shit. What are my saying? I’m so sorry I’m rambling." Mia apologized, laughing nervously.
"It’s okay. You might not know me either. I’m pretty much a nobody in the pack. It’so lovely to meet you, Mia." Bethany said, holding Mia’s hand that was a tad bigger than hers as she studied the excited girl.
Mia had soft shiny brown hair that she was sure would have dropped to her lower back if she wasn’t carrying it in a ponytail. Her facial features were just as delicate as her own. Brown eyes like hers, but we’re rounded while hers were hazel, a cute pointed button nose that had freckles scattered all over, even extending to the uppermost part of her chin.
Her thin lips had hot cherry lipgloss painted over them making them look pouty. "Your lip tint is gorgeous." She couldn’t help but compliment, causing Mia to redden.
"Thank you so much. I just got it. I can give you the name if you want." She said at once, already shifting so she could go get it.
"Yeah, definitely. Can I have your contact? Maybe you could text me the name." Bethany asked, keeping her tone as normal as she could muster, while her other palm was covered in sweat.
"Oh, yeah. I could do that." Mia chirped gingerly. Bethany released a soft sigh of relief, digging into her purse to pull out her phone.
Handing it to her, she sat patiently waiting for her to put in her number. She smiled softly to her self upon realizing that in less than a month, she had gone from having three contacts to seven.
"There. I saved it as Mia. Give me a call so I can have yours." Mia suggested, grinding her teeth in excitement.
"Oh, definitely."
