CHAPTER 135: MANCHILD.

Bethany stared at the figure that stood before the large mirror behind her closet door.

Speechless was definitely not the word she could use to explain how she felt, peering at the figure in the mirror.

Never in her boring life had she ever imagined looking so good. The fact that it was even possible, shocked the life out of her.

All she did was shower, throw on a thin lace g-string underwear, oil her skin with one of the numerous scented oils she definitely didn’t choose because she thought he was going to like it, applied an extremely light layer of makeup, curled her hair, threw on her gown and shoes and boom, she was suddenly a damsel.

Definitely not one in distress. Or probably one distressed with a shocking level of self realization.

She let out a light chuckle of disbelief, shaking her head lightly as she took a few steps away from the mirror.

"He’s definitely going to flip." She muttered, chuckling as she turned to the side to check out her voluptuous balloon ass that protruded finely through the light body-hug material.

Straightening, she let the massive blush that had been waiting so long to be released, come into the light. Her pale cheeks lighting up like red Christmas lights.

"We look gorgeous, Maria." She muttered to her wolf. "Gorgeous and sinful. And for some reason, it makes something within me burn heavily with anticipation and excitement. It’s foreign and thrilling. I think I’m gonna be high." She chuckled, her laughter overflowing into her eyes as her face reddened further.

"If you consider anticipation and excitement intoxicating, then sure. We’re getting extremely high tonight." Maria chimed, the excitement in her voice, unmistakable.

Bethany chuckled at her response heading to the perfume section. "I still feel a tad nervous. But I think it’s normal." She quipped, spritzing the perfume in the crook of her neck

"Would’ve been weird if you didn’t feel that way." Her wolf pacified, eyes on her paws as she licked them every now and then, determined to make it squeaky clean.

"I know, right?" Bethany asked as she walked back to the massive mirror, taking in her outfit one last time.

"You look really good, Beth." Maria cooed softly. The sincerity in her voice almost caused Bethany to gasp in shock, but she regained herself quickly, not wanting to set off her wolf.

"Thank you." She said quietly, stepping out of the closet into the room.

She glanced at the heels that weren’t hurting her yet, surprisingly, jokingly wondering what he might have done to them to either eradicate or reduce the pains.

"You probably can’t feel it due to the excess adrenaline and dopamine coursing throughout your system right now." Maria chimed.

"Hmm." She exhaled, heading to her mattress and packing her purse. "Well, I hope they don’t become so much that I wouldn’t be able to not just enjoy tonight with my eyes open, but with my ears and mind as well." She quipped, hanging the long hand of his chosen purse over her left shoulder, adjusting her gown before the wide mirror that hung just above her makeup table.

"That can be arranged," Maria responded almost immediately, her sudden prancing startling Bethany.

"What wrong?" Bethany asked, but before she could get a reply, the sound of silent footsteps making their way down the hallway, edging closer and closer to her room filtered into her ears.

"Shit, M." She cursed, balling her palms to fists. "I’m not sure I’m ready. Maybe we should just cancel, or postpone." She suggested to her wolf, who felt the complete opposite of what she was feeling.

"No. Bethany. Research, remember?" Maria chimed. "Plus, we might just end up having a lot of fun. What’s the worst that could happen?" She added.

Anticipation pooled heavily in Beth’s lower abdomen, burning her guts to crisp, and the footsteps that had now gotten louder fueled the fire even more.

She stood rooted to the spot before the mirror. She wasn’t looking at her figure; she was counting his steps, and if her senses were working as well as she hoped they were, he had very few left.

Or none.

"Princess." He bellowed from the other side of the door, his deep, husky voice sending electrifying tremors throughout her body.

She swallowed and opened her mouth to say something, but no words came forth. Her mind was completely blank, her mouth; dry, her wolf; mute.

"I can hear your heartbeats from here, Bethany, and they are incredibly abnormal." He quipped. Given the volume of his voice she figured he was either leaning on the wall beside her door or on her door.

"May I come in?" He asked, bursting through her thoughts.

"Sure." She muttered after an uncomfortable while of silence.

Swiftly, the door was opened. Wide.

Like the god he was, he stood in all his glory at her threshold, his eyes trained on her incredibly terrified ones.

At first, his eyes lit up in alarm, but settled as he realized she was just nervous. Nervous and speechless.

"You look incredible, Princess." He cooed, slowly, taking in her outfit and every other thing involved, swallowing up the space between them with his magnanimous frame. "Absolutely gorgeous. I knew it was going to beautiful, but definitely didn’t see this part coming." He added. His lips were inches away from her forehead.

She gulped as her eyes darted across him, looking at anything and anywhere but his face.

"Tsk. You know, I was nervous. But I think you’re even more nervous than I am." He bellowed as he cupped her chin with his palm, lifting her face so her eyes could meet his, but it didn’t work because she was so hell bent on studying the space between the first three buttons he left unbuttoned.

"Look at me, Bunny." He commanded with a deeper voice, forcing her eyes to obey his command willingly, much to her dismay. "It’s normal to feel a little nervous. It’s a first, for both of us. But we can’t let it eat up the excitement within us now, can we?"

He smiled as she shook her head in response. "Exactly. So even though it’s going to be your first time in a place like that, and my first time taking someone, we have to have tons and tons of fun. There are a lot of things and people to see, even though they will be busy, going in nervous would only kill every vibe we’ve managed to put together." He admonished, his eyes lingering on the cherry lip gloss she had opted for, for a moment.

"Okay." She muttered, tearing her gaze from face to his tatted neck, letting her eyes trace his exposed glowing skin, and few of his tattoos that peaked from behind his black dress shirt that hugged his body like a second skin.

"The view of my twins from here is heavenly." He cooed, the right corner of his lip, turning up.

"Twins?" She asked, looking up at him, her eyebrow arched in confusion. She followed his gaze that didn’t come up to meet hers, crimsoning as she finally saw what he was looking at. "Perv." She swore, smacking his chest as she took a step back.

He chuckled at her statement. "Says the woman who could keep her eyes off my chest." He said, smugly, a corner of his lip turned up. "Even right now." He added.

She bit a part of her lower lip in embarrassment, rolling her eyes at how smug he looked.

"Fuck off." She muttered, walking past him as quickly as she could into the hallway. He had seen her embarrassed way too many times already; her ego was completely shattered to bits at this point.

The sounds of his deep chuckle trailed her as she walked down the hallway to the stairs that led to the foyer.

"Nope. That’s not happening, Bunny." He said, quickly coming up behind her just when she stretched her foot to go down the first step.

"Yes, it is. I am not a child, and I can handle myself very perfectly. Thank- ack!" She exclaimed as he scooped her into his arms with one swipe in a second, her eyes wide as saucers.

"Not while I exist, Princess. You seem to have forgotten my sermon." He teased, giving her soft ass a tight squeeze as he took easy steps down the stairs.

"You almost gave me a heart attack, you dumbass. And your sermon isn’t worth remembering." She spat, sticking out her tongue as she made a face at him.

His chest vibrated against her skin as he laughed at her remark. Surprisingly, she found the sound extremely soothing. She looked up at him, taking in his features from the side.

A tiny cursive tattoo sat pretty behind his ear. ’B’, it read, and only one name came to her mind as she thought about it, causing her to blush.

"I got it when we found out about you. I have another one that has your full name, and your name when we get married." He said, without glancing at her.

She studied his face with a small smile, the light reddening of his cheeks telling her everything she wanted to know.

’Manchild.’
