CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: MOMMY WILL BE SAD

"Got it, you can leave first!"

Auntie Chamberlain wanted to stay, but seeing Leon Keane’s agitated look, she silently withdrew.

Leon Keane raised his hand and knocked on the door, "Ian, Daddy’s back. Can you open the door, please?"

Suddenly, there was a loud bang from the utility room, as if something had slammed hard on the floor.

Leon Keane’s handsome face darkened, and his dark eyes flashed with worry. He feared Ian might be injured inside and was about to break in when he heard the low growling of a child, like a savage beast.

Leon Keane froze, recalling what Ian’s attending doctor had told him. The child must have experienced some devastating shock early in life. Whenever he remembers that dark past, he isolates himself, hiding in secluded, cluttered places, which gives him a sense of security.

As Ian’s father, Leon Keane knew he should use patience and love to comfort the child and let him feel warmth, encouraging him to open the door on his own.

If Leon Keane forced open the door, it could severely exacerbate Ian’s condition, making future treatment more challenging.

Leon Keane felt a throbbing pain in his forehead. Ever since the child was brought back, Ian’s grandmother spoiled him immensely. If Ian wanted a star from the sky, she would almost wish to climb a ladder to pluck it for him.

When Ian was a year old, he accidentally fell while learning to walk. Grandma furiously replaced all the nannies and even smashed that floor, covering the entire grand mansion with soft carpets.

There was no exaggeration; Ian was the apple of Leon Keane’s mother’s eye. Anyone who touched him would face her wrath.

Leon Keane couldn’t understand how, despite such meticulous protection, Ian had such a dark past. Who dared to give him such a shock?

Leon Keane thought about Ivana Monroe’s premature childbirth. Could it be that Ian was severely traumatized while still in the womb?

Timmy was also Ivana Monroe’s child. Why did he have a completely different personality from Ian? Timmy was so lively and cheerful, like a joyous little angel.

Thinking of Timmy brought warmth to Leon Keane’s eyes, and he suddenly made a decision. He took out his phone from the pocket of his trousers.

Once connected.

He said, "Derrick Stern, I’m at the old mansion. Bring Timmy to the old mansion now."

Derrick Stern looked at little Timmy, who was eating a hamburger, his mouth covered like a little kitten, "Oh, okay."

After hanging up, Timmy Monroe raised his handsome little face.

"Did Uncle Kane call you to tell you he saved my mommy and wants you to take me home?" The little boy’s voice was innocent, his clear and lovely eyes making it hard for anyone to deceive him.

"It’s true President Kane saved your mommy, but you got one thing wrong. President Kane wants to personally take you home, so I’m taking you to him now." Derrick Stern felt a bit guilty. He did not want to deceive the boy, but he dared not disobey the boss’s orders.

"Uncle Kane promised me he wouldn’t tell Mommy that I secretly came to him for help. Why is he going back on his word now? If Mommy sees him sending me back, she’ll understand everything. Mommy will think Timmy disobedient, and it will break her heart." The little boy’s eyes reddened with anxiety. He only wanted to protect his mommy and not let her worry.

Derrick Stern didn’t know the exact reason why President Kane suddenly called him to bring Timmy to the old mansion. Looking at the sensible boy’s face, he felt an impulse to hug and comfort him.

Derrick Stern gently patted the boy’s head, held his soft little hand, and kindly said, "Ivana is your mommy, President Kane is your daddy. Don’t you want your mommy and daddy to be together?"

Timmy Monroe nodded; he longed for paternal care and wished for a strong man to look after his mommy.

Seeing this approach worked, Derrick Stern added, "That’s why you should create more opportunities for President Kane and your mommy to meet."

Is that right?

Listening to Uncle Stern’s words seemed somewhat logical, but hadn’t Uncle Kane just met with Mommy?

Ivana Monroe returned home to find Timmy missing, and she panicked completely.

"Timmy... Timmy, where are you?"

Ivana Monroe’s voice shook as she called out, but there was no reply. The house was terrifyingly silent apart from her severe heartbeat. She forced herself to calm down.

That’s right, surveillance.

Ivana Monroe rushed to the property office and explained her purpose. With the help of staff, she watched the surveillance footage.

On the footage, a handsome little boy exited the elevator alone, looking composed, and there was no sign of anyone abducting him.

Until the little boy’s figure left the estate, the subsequent footage was just other residents coming and going.

The property staff, a middle-aged woman, looked at the footage and faced Ivana Monroe with a displeased expression, "No other adults at home? You left the child alone? How old is your son? You are truly irresponsible as an adult."

The lady intended to say, don’t wait until something happens to the child before regretting it. Seeing Ivana Monroe’s pale face, as if her blood had been drained away, she refrained from provoking her further.

Kind-heartedly, the lady gave Ivana Monroe some advice, "Don’t be too anxious now; it’s of no use to worry excessively. The key issue is to find the child. Looking at his calm expression when going out, could he have gone to visit relatives? Think about which family member might have given him a phone number or address? Call and check!"

Ivana Monroe suddenly thought of a handsome man, Leon Keane, who shouldn’t have appeared at the wedding today. With reddened eyes, she gratefully said to the lady, "Thank you, I know now. Really, thank you so much."

Seeing Ivana Monroe on the verge of tears with immense gratitude, the woman’s heart softened, "You’re welcome."

The woman thought this lady dearly loved her child; surely it was out of desperation she left such a young child alone.

The woman instantly sympathized with Ivana Monroe, considering the child’s irresponsible father forcing the woman to bear the double burden of work and childcare.

Ivana Monroe took out her phone, her fingers trembling as she unlocked it, flipping through contacts, but then remembered she didn’t have Leon Keane’s number; she had deleted his number last time.

Ivana Monroe bit her lip, telling herself that if Timmy was indeed with Leon Keane, at least he was safe.

She googled and found Leon Keane’s company address and phone number, making a call to The Kanes.

The Kanes’ receptionist listened and then chuckled, "Ma’am, are you having delusions? If you’re sick, go to the hospital for treatment."

After saying this, the receptionist hung up the phone.

The neighboring receptionist asked what happened, and she laughed uncontrollably.

"A dumb woman just called demanding President Kane’s number, claiming he took her son. Does she think she’s Mrs. Kane? Does President Kane want to take her son?"
