Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 367: Reaping the Bitter Fruit of One’s Own Actions
CHAPTER 367: CHAPTER 367: REAPING THE BITTER FRUIT OF ONE’S OWN ACTIONS
Hawk handed the machete wrapped in newspaper to Julia Sinclair, sinisterly saying, "Thinking of bailing out at the last minute? Don’t dream about it, come with me and finish the job."
Hawk was the most trustworthy person in the underworld.
Since he had already promised Jack Quinn, he would help Jack get this done, especially since Jack had promised him so much money. There’s no reason not to do it.
Hawk was glad he brought four henchmen along and successfully made it into Ivana Monroe’s hospital room without any issues.
Julia felt the "newspaper" in her hand contained a knife, and her legs became weak with fear as she struggled strongly, "Let me go, save..."
Seeing Julia’s lack of cooperation, Hawk covered her mouth and pressed something hard against her back, "Scream one more word, and I’ll kill you."
Julia was terrified, tears rolling in her eyes. She was really unlucky tonight, caught on a thief’s boat.
Hawk forced Julia into the inpatient department of the hospital.
It was now midnight, and the lobby of the inpatient department was empty. They successfully got on the elevator and went directly to the VIP floor.
Hawk pushed Julia out of the elevator.
Julia’s face was full of tears as she whispered, "Please, spare me! I’m really just a bystander, and I’ve never even killed a chicken in my life, I can’t kill someone."
Hawk looked at Julia mockingly, "Did I say I want you to kill someone? How does a bystander know so much?"
Julia’s heart pounded, her eyes flickering, "I guessed."
Hawk sneered, "You guessed damn right. You’ll learn to kill quickly too, just one stab, and it’s all over."
Julia was scared out of her wits, feeling that with one stab, she’d become a scapegoat.
Julia bit her lip tightly, thinking, who the hell is this "Justice Angel"? Why are they doing this to her? If they have a grudge against Ivana Monroe, why not kill her themselves? Why use such a despicable means to ruin her?
Julia regretted coming here tonight immensely.
Julia already anticipated that if Ivana Monroe got stabbed, she would become the murderer and scapegoat. But if something happened to her, there would be no one to take care of Kyle, and she and Leon Keane could never be together.
No way!
Absolutely not.
Julia’s mind was racing, thinking of a way for Hawk to spare her.
Suddenly, she thought of a good plan.
"Hawk, I have something to say to you." Julia’s voice suddenly became soft and gentle.
Hawk was no stranger to such a voice. When he went to health spas, many women would flirt with him for his money, and this woman was flirting with him now...
"Don’t think of playing any tricks," Hawk said.
"Hawk." Julia said coquettishly, "What tricks could I play! I just want to make a deal with you, it’s a deal you’ll definitely be interested in."
Hawk raised an eyebrow, "Are you interested? Want me to have you?"
The four henchmen following behind were dumbfounded. Is this "man" gay? No, right! Why does the man’s voice sound so seductive?
He... he’s a woman?
The secret that Julia was a woman dawned on the four henchmen, stirring their inner turmoil as they swallowed hard.
Julia’s face turned red, and she leaned against Hawk’s chest, casually tearing off the mustache from her mouth, winking at Hawk, "Hawk, you’re so bad, you guessed it right. Do you want my body or not?"
Julia was quite attractive.
Hawk felt his chest heating up from Julia’s flirting, and to say he didn’t want it was a lie, but this woman’s purpose was very clear — she wanted to use her body in exchange for her freedom.
That was impossible.
Hawk wouldn’t lose trust in the underworld for a woman like this.
No matter how pretty she was, hadn’t he seen all sorts of pretty women at health spas?
Hawk pushed away Julia, who was drawing circles on his chest, "No, I’m not interested in your seductive body, stay honest. If the job isn’t done tonight, I’ll kill you, good luck!"
Even after using her charms, Julia realized Hawk didn’t fall for it, leaving her nearly hopeless.
The henchmen behind showed a flicker of disappointment in their eyes.
They were still some distance from Ivana Monroe’s room when Hawk saw two bodyguards outside the room, standing like guardians.
He signalled with his eyes to his henchmen, "Two of you, go distract them."
"I’ll go, boss."
"Me too."
The henchmen stepped up, and Hawk pulled Julia aside to a corner.
The two henchmen took out the machetes hidden under their clothes and started slashing at the bodyguards. The bodyguards were skilled, evading the machetes. The henchmen, being particularly cunning, slashed a couple of times and then turned and ran.
"We can’t beat them with knives. Let’s go get guns and deal with them then."
The bodyguards’ faces changed. They couldn’t determine if these punks were against them or wanted to harm Ivana Monroe in the room. One of the bodyguards exchanged glances with the other and gave chase.
The other bodyguard remained to guard Ivana Monroe’s hospital room.
He took out his phone, intending to call for more help, but suddenly a machete flew toward him, fast and fierce, with deadly accuracy. Caught off guard, he was injured in the hand, dropping the phone to the ground.
Hawk viciously said, "Catch him, cut him to death."
One of the henchmen behind him, holding a machete, swiftly charged at the bodyguard.
The bodyguard, unarmed and with a wounded wrist, was clearly no match for the henchman. He guarded Ivana Monroe’s room, refusing to leave until, struck with several cuts, he could no longer hold on and shouted loudly, "Help! Murder..."
At that moment, no one came to his aid.
The neck of the on-duty doctor was held by a machete.
The soundproofing of the VIP room was excellent, and as long as it was locked, outside noises barely penetrated. Ivana Monroe couldn’t hear anything. Her thoughts were not there; she was extremely worried about the two kidnapped children, feeling as if suffocated by despair.
She clutched her phone tightly, desperately hoping it would ring, hoping it would be a call from Leon Keane telling her... the two children and Aunt Golding were safe.
That he would soon bring the two children to her side.
But... the call never came.
The hospital room door emitted a faint sound, which Ivana didn’t hear. Not until the door opened and three people walked in did her heart tighten abruptly, "Who... who are you? What do you want?"
Ivana recognized one of the faces among the three, her gaze falling on Julia Sinclair’s face, "It’s you?"
Why had Julia come to her room with two men at this time?
Where were the bodyguards outside? Why hadn’t they come in?
Could it be... something happened?
Ivana’s ominous premonition expanded boundlessly within her heart.
Julia, forced to come in, was still scared, feeling she was doomed. Now seeing Ivana lying in bed, her pretty face as vibrant as a blooming peony, fair with a blush, she was crazily jealous.
