Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 383: Who’s So Uncouth? Throwing Things Everywhere?
CHAPTER 383: CHAPTER 383: WHO’S SO UNCOUTH? THROWING THINGS EVERYWHERE?
Mr. Linden didn’t chase after Blackie; he ran over to help Mrs. Linden and Ivy Linden up.
"My bag, my bag, it has Ivana Monroe’s design blueprints inside, they can’t fall into the wrong hands." Ivy Linden was anxious, once the blueprints ended up in other companies’ hands, Ivana Monroe’s hard work would turn into someone else’s creation.
These blueprints were sent to her by Ivana Monroe via email after she visited Ivana in the hospital last time; she had just printed them out at home this morning because she needed to deliver them to Allen in a few days.
The blueprints were also an order Allen placed with Ivana.
Ivy Linden was deeply regretting her decision, if she had known, she wouldn’t have rushed to print them at home; it wouldn’t have been too late to print them at the company!
Ivy Linden hurried to chase after Luke Lowe.
Mr. Linden saw her action and ran out following her, grabbing her outside.
"Ivy, don’t chase anymore. Are you risking your life for this?"
"But... but Ivana’s design blueprints are in my bag, they must be delivered to Allen."
"Calm down... Ivy. Dad doesn’t care about any design blueprints or deliver to any Allen. Dad only has one daughter! If anything happens to you, how will Mom and Dad survive?"
Mr. Linden held Ivy tightly, continuing to say, "Ivy, even for Mom and Dad! Please cherish your life, okay?"
Ivy looked at Mr. Linden’s moist eyes and suddenly felt like crying: "Dad, I’m sorry for worrying you."
Jack Quinn woke up, and after eating the breakfast sent by Quinn’s mother, he called Hawk once she left.
The person who answered wasn’t Hawk.
It was a woman, and she was crying, like she was mourning.
Jack Quinn frowned, who is this woman? Is she terminally ill? Crying like this? What bad luck.
"Where’s Hawk? Let me speak to him, I have matters to discuss." Jack Quinn confirmed he dialed correctly because he had Hawk’s number saved on his phone with his name.
"You won’t find him; Hawk is dead... Sob sob sob." The woman cried sorrowfully.
"Hawk is dead?"
Jack Quinn found it incredulous; if it weren’t for the woman’s heart-wrenching cries, he would’ve thought she was joking with him.
How could Hawk be dead?
What on earth happened?
"Yes, it’s true."
The woman said through tears, a little girl beside her saw her mother crying and started crying too.
The little girl’s voice sounded on the phone: "Mommy, Daddy won’t die, Daddy is just asleep, he promised Cindy he would celebrate her tenth birthday with her, Cindy got sixth place in the class this time!"
Upon hearing her daughter’s words, the woman’s cries became louder and more mournful.
Jack Quinn felt something indescribable in his heart, but it was definitely not sympathy for the mother and daughter.
After the woman’s sobs eased a bit, Jack Quinn spoke: "People can’t come back to life after death, Sis-in-law, please accept my condolences."
The woman said through her tears, "Thank you."
Jack Quinn: "Sis-in-law, can I ask how Hawk died?"
The question hit the woman’s heart sharply, she started wailing again, intermittently saying, "He... he was shot to death, when I got the news and hurried over, I saw him riddled with bullets, sob sob sob... who is so cruel? Killed him? Without him, what will Cindy and I do? Sob sob sob..."
Upon hearing Hawk was shot dead, Jack Quinn’s face turned pale; could it have been done by Leon Keane?
Could it be that Hawk didn’t succeed last night, and instead was killed by Leon Keane?
If that’s the case...
Jack Quinn felt uneasy, he kept comforting himself, it’s okay, even if Hawk was killed by Leon Keane, Hawk was known for his loyalty, he won’t betray him.
BAM!
Suddenly a loud noise came from the window, something flew in, hitting Jack Quinn’s head, causing a lump to form instantly, and the thing fell onto his bed.
"Damn~"
With his head hurting, Jack Quinn cursed angrily, "Who the hell is so despicable? Throwing things around like this?"
Jack Quinn hung up the phone, tossed the phone onto the bed, and when he saw the white skull that flew in, he got goosebumps, feeling like a cold hand was stroking his back.
"Ah~"
Jack Quinn, being a doctor, wasn’t unfamiliar with human skulls, yet at this moment, he was so scared he shouted loudly.
It might be because Jack Quinn did something wrong, and just heard Hawk’s death, making him much more timid.
Doctors outside heard Jack Quinn’s shout and ran in.
"Director Quinn, what’s wrong?"
"Skull, skull..."
Jack Quinn was terrified, he looked panic-stricken at the doctor who came in, his fingers trembling as he pointed at the skull on the bed.
The doctor strode over, picked up the skull from the bed, examined it, and said to Jack Quinn: "Director Quinn, don’t be afraid, it’s just a model, not real."
"A model?"
Jack Quinn was still scared.
"Yeah! Look, it’s just a model." The doctor smiled as he showed the skull to Jack Quinn.
"Take it away, I don’t want to see it."
Jack Quinn, frightened, immediately closed his eyes, refusing to look.
"Alright!"
The doctor found Jack Quinn a bit strange, being a doctor, he should be very calm about body models or even real ones; was it necessary to be scared like this?
The doctor took the skull and left Jack Quinn’s ward.
At this moment.
Jack Quinn’s phone suddenly rang.
Jack Quinn felt for his phone, took it and saw it was an MMS; driven by an unknown impulse, he opened it, suddenly widening his eyes in horror again, trembling all over.
In the MMS was Hawk’s photo, covered in blood, lying facedown with his eyes wide open like copper bells, seemingly dying with everlasting regret.
In terror, Jack Quinn smashed his phone to the ground, breaking it into pieces, his pale face muttering: "Who did this? Who sent Hawk’s post-death photo to me? Is it Leon Keane? Hawk, you were killed by Leon Keane, if you have spirits in heaven, may your vengeful soul seek out Leon Keane for revenge!"
~~
In the VIP ward at Hospital One.
"Daddy, Daddy, my brother and I are hungry."
Two little boys finished brushing their teeth in the bathroom, and Timmy Monroe scurried over with his short legs.
Leon Keane quickly closed his laptop, as if fearing the boys would see the content on the screen.
The screen showed Jack Quinn on his hospital bed, angrily smashing his phone like a simpleton.
In last night’s events, Jack Quinn was the mastermind; he orchestrated it all.
Leon Keane won’t let Jack Quinn die quickly like Hawk; that’s too easy. He wanted Jack Quinn to slowly experience the feeling of fear, to torture him step by step until he collapses.
This is the price Jack Quinn pays for hurting his wife and children.
"Timmy, what do you guys want for breakfast? Daddy will order takeout for you." Leon Keane reached out, lifted Timmy onto his lap, and when Ian Keane came over, he also reached his hand out, intending to place the little boy on his other knee.
