Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 392: Whispering Secrets
CHAPTER 392: CHAPTER 392: WHISPERING SECRETS
Old Mr. Guo suddenly felt some sympathy for Mrs. Keane; if she hadn’t married Noel Kane, she would have been treated well.
Seeing the anger surging in Leon Keane’s eyes, Old Mr. Guo could say nothing but felt sorry. This must be the tragedy of a loveless arranged marriage, but fortunately, Leon Keane escaped the fate controlled by his family. He chose the woman he loved.
He wouldn’t let the tragedy of the preceding generation play out in the next one.
Leon Keane returned to the ward and saw Ivana Monroe working with blueprints on the hospital bed. He frowned and placed his large hand on the blueprints.
"Take your hand away."
Ivana said irritably. Seeing his hand unmoved, she reached out to pry it away.
How strong was Leon Keane’s hand? He didn’t want to move, and Ivana’s efforts were in vain.
"What are you doing, Leon Keane?"
Ivana was anxious about the design draft.
With a swift turn of his palm, Leon Keane clasped Ivana’s small hand in his, while sliding the rack with the design draft off the bed and into a corner on the ground.
"The doctor said that for these three days, I should help you get up and move slowly."
After Leon Keane spoke, he reached out, slid his arm under Ivana’s back. His flawless, handsome face drew near, enveloping her in a flood of masculine scent, making her breath catch.
Leon Keane carefully lifted Ivana down from the bed, whispering in her ear: "Honey, gently put your foot down. Let’s try it."
Ivana’s heart pounded violently, as if a fawn was running amok inside her chest; she was extremely nervous.
Ivana’s cheeks flushed. She slowly put one foot down on the ground without a problem, but the other seemed powerless. With Leon Keane’s hand at her waist for support, she attempted to walk.
Taking a small step forward, her knee buckled, and she nearly knelt.
Leon Keane swiftly tightened his grip, steadying her body.
Ivana’s face turned slightly pale. She looked up at Leon Keane, her eyes filled with helpless tears: "This foot has no strength, I can’t stand."
Leon Keane said gently, "It’s okay, let’s take it slow. Recovery takes time."
Leon Keane’s voice seemed to possess magic, gradually dissipating the helplessness in Ivana’s heart, restoring her confidence to try again.
She failed many times.
With Leon Keane’s constant gentle encouragement in her ear, Ivana didn’t feel the process as difficult and powerless as taking the first step. Under her effort, she finally succeeded.
A small success, limited to just two steps.
But it was enough to make Ivana overjoyed.
"I can walk, I can walk," Ivana said excitedly.
She wanted to take more steps but was stopped by Leon Keane.
"Haste makes waste. That’s it for the morning session. We’ll train again in the afternoon."
"Huh?"
Just as the joy of success came, Ivana wanted to walk a few more steps, and her flames of excitement were extinguished by Leon Keane. She thought about it, and agreed with Leon’s advice; it was important not to overdo it, especially since training had just begun.
Leon Keane bent down, picked Ivana up horizontally in his arms, and gently placed her back on the hospital bed.
After completing this, he turned around and saw two children, heads lowered, covering their mouths as if secretly laughing.
Leon Keane’s face turned slightly red; these two kids had too much free time—they should be sent to school.
Leon Keane cleared his throat: "Ian, Timmy, you two should go to school tomorrow."
Ian: "..."
Timmy: "..."
Little Ian said, "Mommy will be discharged in three days; we want to accompany her until she leaves the hospital and then go back to school!"
Timmy nodded in agreement.
Leon Keane said, "No, you’ve already missed a lot of classes. You can’t waste any more time, and the school holiday is approaching soon. Do you two not want little red flowers or awards?"
Ian pouted: Are little red flowers or awards more important than Mommy? Besides, there’s still over a month left until the holiday, and Daddy is just making excuses to send them away like little light bulbs.
Timmy said, "Okay, but Daddy, after school, we want to come and accompany Mommy, alright?"
Leon Keane frowned: Mommy has Daddy to keep her company. Can’t you guys just focus on doing your homework and sleeping at home?
Leon Keane couldn’t bring himself to say it.
Ian suddenly said, "Mommy, Mommy, we’ll come to keep you company after school."
Leon Keane felt the urge to cover Ian’s mouth! Here he was, failing to persuade them, and this clever little rascal went to seek out Mommy?
Ivana laughed, full of warmth: "Yes, Ian and Timmy are such good treasures for Mommy, so considerate of her!"
Ian succeeded, laughing cheerfully. Being praised by Mommy, his little tail was almost sticking up in pride.
When said, it’s done.
Leon Keane personally drove the two children to school.
The two children left.
Ivana and Aunt Golding exchanged glances; the ward seemed to be missing something?
Aunt Golding felt a pang of reluctance, especially seeing the two little boys leaving with Leon Keane. She suddenly realized that in three days, she might also be leaving, and the chance of seeing Ivana and the two children again would be slim. Aunt Golding’s eyes itched a bit.
Ivana noticed Aunt Golding’s expression, her heart touched. She said, "Aunt Golding, Timmy and Ian will be brought over after school."
Aunt Golding nodded: "Yes."
Aunt Golding’s expression did not improve.
Ivana added: "If... if three days later, you can’t bear to be apart from the two children, you can always stay by their side."
Aunt Golding was surprised: "Really, can I?"
Ivana laughed and nodded earnestly: "Yes, if you stay with the kids, you won’t have to do the work of a nanny anymore. Just accompany them as they grow. If you have matters at home, you can attend to them too without having to worry about not being able to leave the kids."
Aunt Golding was overwhelmed: "How...how could this be?"
She never imagined Ivana would consider her in such a way, especially after not taking good care of the children, with them being kidnapped by those abductors. Yet, the young lady trusted her so openly.
Ivana said: "Why not? Don’t forget, what does Timmy call you?"
Aunt Golding thought of the tender "Grandma Golding," and her eyes welled with tears.
Seeing Aunt Golding cry, Ivana hurried to comfort her.
Aunt Golding was a kind old lady, and Timmy never had a "Grandmother’s" care, but Aunt Golding provided this kind of affection for Timmy.
Ivana didn’t expect Mrs. Keane to treat Timmy as she did Ian.
Speak of the devil.
And there she was.
"Mrs. Keane... you... why are you here?"
The bodyguard outside was stunned to see Mrs. Keane with two servants appearing before him.
"I came to see my grandson, are you going to stop me too?" Mrs. Keane said with an imposing demeanor.
"No... I wouldn’t dare..." The bodyguard felt conflicted, seeing the angry expression of Mrs. Keane. He quickly reassured her, fearing to offend.
"Move aside."
Mrs. Keane ordered, and the bodyguard didn’t dare to stop her. Two maids stepped forward, forcefully pushing open the door to Ivana’s room.
