Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 402: How Did You Find This Place?
CHAPTER 402: CHAPTER 402: HOW DID YOU FIND THIS PLACE?
The internet cafe owner’s home is in a neighborhood near the internet cafe.
Daisy Taylor didn’t spend much time finding it; the old neighborhood didn’t have an elevator, and climbing to the sixth floor was exhausting.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
There wasn’t a doorbell on the security door, so Daisy Taylor knocked hard.
After about five minutes, the door was opened.
"Who’s there? Knocking like crazy early in the morning? Doesn’t anyone want to sleep?"
The door was opened by a man, not very good-looking.
He yawned, looking as if he hadn’t fully woken up, glaring at Daisy Taylor, about to tell her to leave and not wake up Kiki Jennings, but suddenly felt that this woman’s face looked familiar.
"You... you are..."
"I’m here to find Kiki," Daisy Taylor pushed the man aside and came in from outside, shouting loudly, "Kiki, something happened to your aunt, come out quickly."
"Oh... I remember now, you’re the girl who came to find Kiki in the Hyundai last time."
The man wore a slightly smug expression.
"Hello, I’m Kiki’s..." the man wanted to introduce himself to Daisy Taylor, thinking if Kiki hadn’t accepted him, he couldn’t be considered her boyfriend, he smiled and said, "I’m Kylie’s friend, my name is Larry."
Daisy Taylor was about to burst with anxiety, while Larry was still smiling and introducing himself.
Daisy Taylor couldn’t stand it anymore, scolding, "Don’t you understand what people are saying? My aunt is Kiki’s mom, something big happened to her, and you still laugh? You’re still introducing yourself? Are you crazy?"
Daisy Taylor pushed aside the man blocking her way and opened the room to find Kiki.
The room had men’s clothes hanging with an unpleasant, strange smell, like a sour stench from days of not bathing and sweating.
This was Larry’s room.
Daisy Taylor didn’t find Kiki and turned around to search again.
Larry stood there dumbfounded, his neck reddened by Daisy Taylor’s scolding.
Snapping back to reality, Larry didn’t blame Daisy Taylor, grabbed her as she was searching, and said, "Kiki’s not here, she’s sleeping in the attic, come with me."
Larry’s apartment was on the top floor, with an attic above.
If he hadn’t said anything, Daisy Taylor wouldn’t have found Kiki after searching the entire room.
Larry opened a door, revealing a wooden staircase leading to the attic.
The attic was in stark contrast to the mess below; it was very tidy, and Larry knocked on a closed door, "Kylie, your sister’s here for you, she said your mom’s in trouble."
Kiki was having a beautiful dream.
Larry’s knock was gentle, as if afraid of disturbing Kiki.
"Kylie..."
"Get out of the way."
Daisy Taylor was utterly frustrated with Larry, she pushed him aside and twisted open the door; inside was a room with pink wallpaper, lights, a bed, and bedding, all in a princess style.
This was Larry’s sister’s room.
Kiki lay on the comfortable, soft bed, eyes closed, grumbling, "So noisy, stop it, I’m so tired."
Daisy Taylor was furious, she walked over and rudely pulled off the quilt, yelling, "Kiki, your mom’s gone, and you can still sleep? Do you have any humanity?"
Kiki opened her eyes, immediately retorting, "Are you crazy? Your mom’s gone."
Daisy Taylor really wanted to take a stick and smash it over Kiki’s head to wake her up.
Daisy Taylor cried out, sobbing, "Kiki, wake up! Your mom jumped into the river last night, it’s all your fault."
Kiki rubbed her eyes, realizing it was Daisy Taylor, she was utterly shocked, "Daisy... how did you... how did you find this place?"
Kiki appeared flustered, as if afraid Daisy Taylor would despise her for coming home with an ugly man.
She hadn’t done anything improper with the ugly man; it was just that she had nowhere else to stay and spent the night here.
Maybe it was after days of being camped in the internet cafe, but Kiki had just slept in bed last night, feeling extremely comfortable, as if she was back in the days when The Jennings Group hadn’t collapsed, and she was living on the soft big bed in her villa.
Daisy Taylor couldn’t believe Kiki.
Daisy Taylor, eyes red, reached out to pull Kiki, "You’re going with me, come with me."
Kiki’s arm hurt from being dragged; she struggled, "Daisy, what are you doing? Let go of me. Can’t you speak well? What did you just say? My mom jumped into the river? Are you kidding me?"
The man saw Kiki in pain from Daisy Taylor’s grip and felt terribly sorry, coming over to help Kiki, "Don’t pull Kylie! Let her go first."
With the man’s help.
Daisy Taylor had no choice but to release Kiki; the man pushed her to the wall and used his body to block in front of Kiki’s bed, preventing Daisy Taylor from pulling Kiki again.
"I’m kidding? Kiki, have a bit of a conscience, okay? What did I tell you on the phone last night? Auntie disappeared, she was going to commit suicide, I asked you to call the media, why didn’t you call? Now Auntie is gone, she jumped into the river last night, the police called my dad, and my dad is with the police right now, do you still think I’m joking with you?"
Kiki was stunned, shaking her head, "I don’t believe it, Mom didn’t commit suicide, you must be lying to me, I don’t believe it."
Daisy Taylor cried, seeing the panic in Kiki’s eyes, she wanted to laugh, shouting, "Stop deceiving yourself, you’re going with me to the police now."
"No, I’m not going."
Kiki, feeling guilty as a thief, if she went to the police, wouldn’t she expose herself? And the things she’d done, the police would definitely investigate.
Kiki was terrified, even though the dead schoolgirl wasn’t pushed into the river by her, she had given the schoolgirl her clothes! What if the police suspected her of indirect murder?
The police would also investigate her whereabouts since she "disappeared".
If they investigated the internet cafe! Then it would show she was deliberately hiding, and with the recent internet violence against Ivana Monroe and "GK" by those extreme militants being so intense and enthusiastic, if she "appeared" now and the truth came out, wouldn’t those extremists transfer their hatred to her?
Then she’d be finished, wouldn’t she?
Kiki thought a lot; her mother’s death didn’t leave her enough time to feel heartache before she was associating it with so many terrifying things, constantly shrinking her body into the bed.
No, she couldn’t be taken away by Daisy Taylor, couldn’t appear in the public eye.
"You’re not going?"
Daisy Taylor was shocked, seeing not a tear on Kiki’s face, she suddenly felt that her mother’s words were correct, Kiki wasn’t even human, not even as good as a beast.
"How am I supposed to go? Daisy, have you forgotten... if Ivana Monroe knows I’m still alive, she will definitely send someone to kill me, maybe... my mother’s death in the river wasn’t suicide at all, but an assassin sent by Ivana Monroe, killing her and then throwing her body into the river."
"The goal... the goal is to see if I’m dead or not? Because my body hasn’t been retrieved yet, she’s suspecting... right, that’s how it is... Daisy... our whole family has been killed by that vicious murderer Ivana Monroe, only I’m left alive, you have to help me!"
