Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 487: Are You an Idiot?
CHAPTER 487: CHAPTER 487: ARE YOU AN IDIOT?
The sound of a motorcycle came from outside, and the smiles on the children’s faces instantly disappeared. Their young faces were full of panic. The two little boys quickly scrambled under the table again, while the two little girls instinctively hid behind Ivana Monroe.
"Auntie, they’re back, quick, hide over here."
Tiger waved at Ivana Monroe, naively believing that as long as the adults didn’t see them when they returned, they’d go out to continue looking. Tiger didn’t know what had happened.
"There’s no need to hide. They will never hurt you again. Auntie and Uncle will take you home, okay?"
Ivana had already taken off her mask, her expression so gentle, her eyes seeming to hold countless sparkling stars. They stared at Ivana, the two boys standing there, their dirty faces darkened with melancholy.
The two little girls’ eyes were slightly red.
Joy whispered, "Mom doesn’t want me anymore."
Ivana heard this and felt a pang in her heart. How could a mother not want her child?
Ivana knelt down, looked at Joy, and said, "Maybe your mom just doesn’t know what you’re going through? Maybe she was deceived too."
Joy’s tears started to fall, and seeing Joy cry, Nia also started crying.
Ivana gathered the two children into her arms.
"You little brats, dare to sneak back? You want to die... ah~"
The man and Joan came back with Tonia.
The man saw people inside, all about the same height, and for a moment didn’t see Ivana clearly, mistaking her as one of the runaway kids. With blood still on his head and full of rage, just as he was about to vent on the children, a tall figure suddenly emerged from the side.
Before the man could react, Leon Keane punched him, knocking him to the ground.
"Husband."
Joan shouted loudly.
Soon, she looked in horror at the tall and ruggedly handsome Leon Keane standing next to her, trembling in fear.
"Give me the child."
Tonia’s little hand was tightly held by Joan.
If Joan didn’t let go, and Leon handled her like he did the man, Tonia would surely get hurt.
Facing Leon’s formidable aura, Joan was terrified but didn’t surrender Tonia to him.
If she handed over the child, what then...?
Imagining the consequences, Joan was terrified to death, and suddenly she pinched Tonia’s neck, glaring viciously at Leon Keane, "You think I’m stupid? Give you the child, so you can take us to the police?"
"Pain, pain~"
Tonia’s young face was full of pain, her tiny hands trying to pry Joan’s hand off, but such a small child, how could she be a match for Joan?
Leon Keane’s gaze turned cold, and he said in a low voice, "You better let go of the child immediately, or I will make you wish you were dead."
Facing Leon Keane’s fierce eyes, Joan’s hands trembled with fear.
"Joan, don’t let go of the child, she’s our bargaining chip."
The man, enduring his pain, got up from the ground and pulled out a sharp knife, pointing it at Tonia’s face with a stabbing motion.
"If you want the kid dead, then just try stopping us."
Tonia cried out in fear and pain.
Seeing this, Joy and Nia were terrified, holding onto Ivana tightly, speaking in tearful voices.
"Auntie, I’m scared."
"Auntie, I’m scared."
"Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, Auntie and Uncle will protect you."
What Ivana was most worried about now was Tonia, whose neck was still undeveloped, so fragile—how could she withstand Joan’s forceful grip?
Ivana’s heart was filled with anger enough to kill Joan.
"If you kill the child, you won’t survive either. Two lives for one child’s life, and if the child dies, it’s worth it." Leon Keane uttered cold, ruthless words, "If you’re willing to accompany the child on her way, then go ahead!"
The man and Joan never expected Leon Keane to be such a person.
Panic flashed across the man’s face, waving the knife in his hand, "Don’t scare us, you think I don’t dare hurt the child?"
"Go ahead."
Leon Keane repeated simply.
Tonia’s vision was blurred with tears, sobbing... she was going to die...
Tonia wanted to look back at Ivana. When she was brought in by Joan, she had seen the pretty Aunt, but with Joan pinching her neck, Tonia couldn’t turn her head at all.
Ivana’s face paled slightly. She knew in her heart that Leon Keane wasn’t unwilling to save Tonia but was using a strategy to drive Joan and the man into a desperate spot; yet, Tonia was just a child. What if, in their panic, the man and Joan accidentally killed Tonia?
Ivana hurriedly said, "You just want money, don’t you? I have money here, I can give you all of it. Take the money and leave and give me Tonia."
"Joy, Nia, you hide under the table first, Auntie will go get Tonia, okay?"
The two little girls obediently released Ivana, nodded to her—they liked Tonia too, and didn’t want anything to happen to her.
The two little girls ran under the table.
Ivana stood up and approached Joan, taking out all the cash from her wallet.
The man and Joan saw the stack of hundred-yuan bills and showed greedy expressions.
But soon, the man said, "At most, you’ve got just over ten thousand here; it’s too little."
Ivana laughed angrily, "How much do you want?"
The man thought for a moment, stretched out five fingers, then changed it to ten: "One hundred thousand."
Ivana laughed coldly, turning to Leon Keane, "Do you have any cash on you?"
Leon shook his head.
Ivana was somewhat disappointed. This man carried cards but hardly ever cash. Let alone a hundred thousand in cash.
The man and Joan both thought Leon Keane could produce the money; his clothes looked expensive, how could he not have money?
"I don’t have a hundred thousand in cash, but I have a car. You can take it; it’s worth more than a hundred thousand."
The man hesitated upon hearing this but was anxious to leave, fearing Ivana and Leon may have already alerted the police. Staying any longer would just increase his danger.
"Give me the money in your hand too."
The man pointed to the cash in Ivana’s hand.
"Okay, but you must give me Tonia."
"Once we’re in the car."
Coming outside, the man saw Leon’s luxury car and was completely dumbfounded.
Holy shit, this car was worth so much more than a hundred thousand! Even if he didn’t know cars, just by the looks, he could tell it probably cost hundreds of thousands or even millions!
No man doesn’t love cars.
And the man was no exception, plus he had years of experience driving a van.
"Give me the car keys."
The thought of this car soon becoming his, the man was extremely excited.
Leon handed the car keys to the man.
The man fumbled a bit, needing Leon to show him how to open the car door.
Watching the man, Joan was a bit worried: "Husband, such a good car, you don’t know how to drive it, let’s not take it."
The man glared at Joan: "Are you an idiot?"
