Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 51: Let Them Slander
CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: LET THEM SLANDER
Tomorrow is Timmy’s first day of school. She didn’t think about getting Timmy a new backpack or new clothes.
"What’s a little money? My godson is so handsome; buying clothes for him is a pleasure for me." Isn’t that right? Even the staff in the children’s clothing store can’t take their eyes off Timmy as he tries on new outfits!
The store manager is even more straightforward, his eyes shining as he looks at Timmy, hoping Timmy can become a model for their brand.
Stacy Floyd refused without a second thought. Timmy is Ivana Monroe’s treasure, and no matter how tough things get, Ivana wouldn’t let her little darling suffer even a bit. Would she agree to let Timmy change into many outfits every day, suffer to take photos and make money?
"Godmother, your kindness to Timmy will be remembered. When Timmy grows up and makes money, he’ll also buy godmother new clothes."
"Oh my, my little Timmy, my darling, my sweetheart, just hearing you say that is enough for godmother."
Stacy Floyd crouched down to hug Timmy and kissed his cute little face twice.
Stacy Floyd put Timmy down and chatted with Ivana Monroe for a while, not feeling like she’d talked enough.
Her assistant Amy came over with a tearful face to urge her, "My lady, the film crew has already made three calls. Everything is ready, just waiting for you, the leading actress, to come over. If you don’t go soon, I fear someone will slander you again tomorrow, saying you’re acting like a diva..."
"Slander? Let them slander. Am I afraid of them? I asked Director Norris for leave yesterday, saying I couldn’t film today due to some commitments, and Director Norris agreed. Now suddenly it’s changed?"
Needless to say, even guessing with your toes, someone is definitely working some underhanded tricks.
Amy looked for help toward Ivana Monroe, "Ivana, please try to persuade the lady! It’s not easy for the lady to reach her current position in the entertainment industry. We don’t know how many jealous people are watching her like hawks, ready to seize any opportunity to knock her down and take her place."
"Heh, I’ve reached where I am today through hard work and true talent. Do they think they can replace me just like that? I just don’t believe it. If Director Norris has the guts to replace me as the lead actress with an unskilled second lead, then let him do it!"
Amy almost cried; the lady is perfect in every way, except her stubbornness. She doesn’t learn from her losses, and even when she sees through things, she continues to push against them. Isn’t this just knowingly falling into a trap others set for you?
"Stacy, how long have you been on this project?" Ivana suddenly asked.
"Signed the contract the year before last. It was supposed to start filming last year but got delayed due to funding issues until this year."
"When was the second lead determined then?"
"The original second lead was determined the year before last, but this year, at the start of filming, she couldn’t be present for some reason, so we re-auditioned for a new second lead."
Stacy Floyd gets a headache mentioning this new second lead. She’s a fresh graduate, completely inexperienced, and awkward to act alongside.
Stacy Floyd vented about the new second lead to Ivana Monroe.
Ivana listened and frowned; this fresh newcomer has just arrived at the film crew and started stealing scenes right in front of veteran actors. Even Director Norris thinks she is good. The key is she can blend well within the crew, except for those veterans whose scenes she grabbed; everyone else in the crew gets along well with her.
What gives her that privilege?
Amy angrily said, "It’s because she slept with Director Norris."
This wasn’t something she made up; she overheard the second lead talking on the phone with Director Norris in the restroom, cooing disgustingly about how amazing he was last night and how she’s crazy about him...
Amy reported this to Stacy Floyd, who didn’t believe it until the second lead started snatching Stacy’s scenes. Director Norris turned a deaf ear, and only then did Stacy sense something was wrong.
Today’s call from the crew further hit Stacy Floyd like a heavy blow.
Stacy Floyd coldly said, "If I’d known Director Norris was that kind of person, there’s no way I would have signed a contract for ’Apartment Lovers.’"
Ivana Monroe got a general understanding of the situation.
She told Stacy Floyd, "Since you signed the contract two years ago, the lead role and advertisements of ’Apartment Lovers’ have already been promoted under your name, Stacy Floyd. Changing the actress at the last minute would surely cause an uproar in the media and online, essentially promoting the second lead further."
"Stacy, would you willingly make bridal dresses for others?"
Stacy Floyd angrily said, "I wouldn’t! Why should I help her make bridal dresses? Ivana, thank you for reminding me. I’m going back to the crew now to film and piss off that unskilled second lead."
Seeing Stacy Floyd come to her senses, Ivana Monroe smiled, "That’s the right attitude."
Amy gave Ivana a thumbs-up, impressed that she managed to persuade the lady in just a few sentences.
The next day was Timmy’s first day of school.
Ivana Monroe woke up early to prepare a loving breakfast for Timmy. Seeing the little boy in new clothes, satisfied after breakfast, and carrying his "Minion" backpack with a handsome demeanor.
Ivana’s eyes were full of tenderness, almost melting.
Ivana took Timmy to "Wellbright Kindergarten."
"Mommy, Timmy can go in by himself. Timmy can find his class. Mommy can drop Timmy off here!" The little boy’s handsome smile was like the first sunshine of dawn, warming people’s hearts.
Other parents dropping off their kids looked over with admiration.
Such a well-mannered boy!
Wow! Such a handsome boy.
Why are all the handsome and well-mannered boys always someone else’s child?
Parents were almost dying of envy toward Ivana Monroe for having such a wonderful and well-mannered child, and the fact that the child is inconveniently handsome.
"Alright, mommy will come pick Timmy up after school. Timmy has to be good at school, okay?" Ivana crouched down to gaze into Timmy’s beautiful eyes. Seeing him nod in agreement, she gently kissed his fair little cheek.
Timmy carried his "Minion" backpack into the kindergarten, and Ivana slowly stood up.
A luxurious Rolls-Royce parked at the entrance of "Wellbright Kindergarten." The door opened, and a bodyguard in a black suit stepped out, straightening his back and respectfully standing beside the door, waiting for the young master inside to emerge.
Ian Keane got out of the car, unlike other kids, he wasn’t carrying a backpack, and he wore a cool pair of sunglasses that covered a third of his little face but couldn’t hide his exceptionally distinguished facial features, including his tightly pursed lips.
"Young master, your summer homework..."
"I tore it up."
Ian Keane calmly said as if discussing something unrelated to him, and walked coolly into the kindergarten.
Ivana heard Ian Keane’s words and glanced his way.
