Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 513: The Grand Madam
CHAPTER 513: CHAPTER 513: THE GRAND MADAM
"Derrick." Secretary Sullivan pushed the door open and immediately saw what was happening. The medicine in her hand fell to the floor, and she rushed to Derrick’s side, holding him steady and helping him spit everything out of his mouth.
"How are you? Do you need a drink of water?"
"No, I’m fine."
After Derrick spoke, he started coughing again. Ivana handed the opened bottle of mineral water to Secretary Sullivan.
"Thank you, Young Madam Kane."
Secretary Sullivan gave Ivana a grateful glance and carefully helped Derrick drink some water.
Derrick had choked on some pastry crumbs, but after drinking a bit of water, he felt much better.
Secretary Sullivan put down the bottle of water and angrily turned to Richie: "You’re too much! My boyfriend’s leg is injured, and you’re still bullying him like this?"
Boyfriend?
Richie curled his lip: "He’s got a leg injury—that proves he’s useless. With a useless man like him, you won’t feel secure being with him. Why not break up?"
Secretary Sullivan was slightly surprised by Richie’s looks, but her eyes quickly showed disgust. This man is quite handsome, but his character is awful: "My boyfriend is excellent in every way. I’m not only going to stay with him, but I’m also going to marry him. I want you to apologize to my boyfriend now, or I’ll call the police."
Derrick stared blankly at Secretary Sullivan, feeling an inexplicable joy in his heart.
Marriage~
Indeed, his parents at home had been urging him to get married.
Richie looked Derrick up and down and couldn’t see anything outstanding about him.
Compared to himself, Derrick was far inferior, yet this kind of man had a woman deeply devoted to him. Why is it that in front of Ivana, she doesn’t even look at him twice?
Apologizing is out of the question, completely out of the question.
Richie sneered: "Go ahead, call!"
Secretary Sullivan found Richie’s demeanor extremely annoying—did he think she wouldn’t dare to call the police?
Humph~
Secretary Sullivan picked up her phone, about to call the police, when Derrick held her hand.
Derrick shook his head: "Let it go."
"How could you just let it go? Look at how arrogant he is!"
"President Kane is still lying in bed, so let’s not bother with him. We’ll just ignore him, babe."
Secretary Sullivan was called "babe" by Derrick in front of everyone, and her cheeks flushed quickly.
"Ugh~"
Richie made a gagging gesture, again angering Secretary Sullivan, as Derrick tightly held her hand.
"Babe, ignore him, let him put on his one-man show."
"Okay."
The food Richie brought was taken outside by Ivana; she was the best choice for this task.
Richie’s handsome face darkened as he followed Ivana outside: "Dare to throw away the food I bought and see what happens."
It was his first time buying food for a woman; Richie couldn’t accept the fate of the food being thrown away. At this moment, he even felt a little regret—why did he so eagerly help this woman buy food?
Afraid she’d starve?
This woman didn’t need his concern at all.
She has a husband; her heart is with Leon Keane.
Richie couldn’t understand why he felt this way—why these thoughts were in his mind, why he felt so uncomfortable?
"Wasting is shameful; I wasn’t planning to throw the food away."
After Ivana spoke, she saw the dark expression on Richie’s face gradually dissipate.
"Then are you planning to eat outside?"
"There’s so much; how could I eat it all? Sir, I would like to invite the nurses from the hospital to join me, is that alright?"
"Alright."
As long as Ivana ate, Richie felt content.
Ivana found the nurses in the VIP ward and invited two of them to eat together.
The two young nurses were pleasantly surprised—such good food, and even a super handsome guy, it was truly mesmerizing.
The young nurse, while eating, secretly glanced at Richie.
Wow~
The more she looked, the more fascinated she became. What to do?
Richie didn’t show the fierce expression of wanting to gouge out the young nurse’s eyes this time; he raised his chin as if to remind Ivana.
See!
His looks were top-notch; even the young nurses secretly admired him.
Ivana naturally didn’t notice Richie’s proud expression. After a few bites, she put down her chopsticks: "I’m full, you two take your time eating, I’ll head back to the ward to take care of my husband."
"So quick? You’re already full?"
"Young Madam Kane, eat some more."
Ivana shook her head at the young nurse; there’s no way she could eat more. Just those bites felt like chewing wax, especially knowing that Leon Keane in the ward—a notorious jealous type.
"Someone’s in the ward pre-tending to be his lackey, why worry for him?"
Ivana held her forehead.
Leaving the nurses’ dining room, she said to Richie who followed her: "Thank you for personally buying me the snacks today."
Richie was taken aback: "No need to thank me; you owe me so much money—buying you snacks is just to make sure you eat well and have the energy to earn my money back. If you ruin the company, who will I get my money from?"
This reasoning seemed good.
Ivana nodded: "Alright, I understand. Since there’s nothing else, you should go and rest! I’ll transfer the money to your account on time."
Richie didn’t really want to leave: "I’m not tired."
Ivana gazed at Richie; could it be this man really...
"Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?"
"Richie, Leon Keane and I are already legally married."
"What does your marriage have to do with me?"
Why was she telling him this? It felt stifling.
"I’m grateful you saved me, and grateful you brought my husband to the hospital in Ravenswood. If one day you face trouble or danger, I will do my best to help you."
She... why was she saying this to him?
With his skills, he wouldn’t encounter any trouble. Even if he faced danger, he wouldn’t need her—a frail woman—to help.
"But aside from this, I can’t respond to anything else."
Ivana looked directly and frankly at Richie.
Richie’s face turned red; even his neck was red: "Who... who wants a response from you? Ivana, don’t be so self-centered; I haven’t fallen in love with you."
It felt like the more he explained, the worse it got.
Richie’s heart was beating hard, almost breaking through his chest.
"It’s good you haven’t. Actually... we can be friends."
Ivana extended her fair finger; it’s better to gain a friend than an enemy, especially since Richie is a dreadfully terrifying enemy.
"Who wants to be friends with you? Self-centered woman."
Richie felt hot all over—was he ill?
No way; he needed to see a doctor.
"I’m leaving; don’t look for me unless necessary."
Richie turned and left, his steps speeding up as if escaping.
Ivana: "..."
Back in the ward.
Facing Leon’s gaze, she said: "Left."
Leon raised an eyebrow: left so quickly?
"You made him leave?"
"Yes."
Leon grinned widely: "Honey, I love you."
Ivana’s cheeks flushed.
Just then, the door was pushed open again.
Leon’s mother entered and helped in an old lady with silver hair, walking with a cane.
"Love? What’s there to love? She got you into this state and is unworthy to be my Kane family’s granddaughter-in-law. I want you to divorce her immediately."
Derrick’s face changed drastically upon seeing the old lady: "Dow....Dowager Kane."
Leon was stunned: "Grandma, why are you here?"
Seeing Leon in bed, the Dowager Kane’s stern expression instantly disappeared, her eyes turned red, and she cried as she approached Leon, stretching out trembling old hands: "My precious grandson, why are you so badly hurt? Grandma’s heart hurts so much!"
