CHAPTER 565: CHAPTER 565: THAT’S RIGHT, YOU’RE ABOUT TO DIE

"Stop right there! Ivana Monroe, the Kane family has not wronged you. If you have any decency left, please divorce Leon Keane and leave Ravenswood, if only for the sake of your two sons, okay?"

The matriarch felt exhausted, not that she hadn’t given Ivana chances before, but this woman was like a wolf that could never be tamed. For her own sake and her family’s, Ivana had even embezzled funds from the Kane Group, plunging it into crisis.

"Madam, are you sure the Kane family hasn’t wronged me?"

Ivana found it utterly laughable; was the hostility from Leon’s mother still not obvious enough? Hadn’t she suffered enough damage? She and Fawn Rhodes were nearly violated by those thugs sent by Leon’s mother. If that doesn’t count as wrongdoing, would she have to be killed for it to be considered wrong?

Ivana took a deep breath, suppressing her anger: "I will never divorce Leon Keane. The only person in the Kane family who hasn’t wronged me is him. Unless he personally asks for it, I will always be his wife."

"You shameless woman."

Leon’s mother pointed at Ivana, cursing.

"You vain woman, you’re just after the Kane family’s money. Don’t think I don’t know. If Leon had no money, would you still shamelessly say such things?"

"I’m telling you, Ivana Monroe, even if you don’t want to divorce today, you will. The Kane family won’t have a lowly daughter-in-law like you. You’re not worthy of my son, and your dirty feet aren’t fit to stand on any inch of the Kane family land."

Leon’s mother was highly emotional, determined to drive Ivana out today. Once she signed the divorce papers, she planned to send Ivana back to jail under charges of assaulting the elderly, and ensure that not even Leon could rescue her from where she’d be locked up.

Ivana turned her head, glaring sharply at Leon’s mother: "Vain, am I? Fine! Since you’ve brought it up, let me ask you, who was it that schemed to set me up with Leon, leading to my pregnancy?"

Fawn Rhodes paused, Ivana had never mentioned Timmy’s background in front of her. She thought Ivana had a bad past with Timmy’s father, but never expected Leon’s mother was involved.

What exactly had Ivana gone through back then?

Leon’s mother didn’t expect Ivana to bring up these old issues. Her eyes flickered nervously: "It was your own greed, deliberately entering Leon’s room for money and having relations with him."

Ivana sneered: "I didn’t even know who Leon Keane was back then. How could I enter his room? You talk of money, do you? Want to call Leon now and ask how much he paid to buy my first time?"

Leon’s mother blushed, this shameless woman speaking so plainly about her first time.

"Leon is such an upright man, he wouldn’t pay for your first time, Ivana. Stop twisting the facts. You only wanted to climb the social ladder by latching onto Leon after encountering his wealth."

"Is that so? Then why didn’t I cling to Leon after I woke up? Clearly pregnant with twins, yet unaware? Even when I was sent to the hospital, and the doctor took one of the babies, I knew nothing?"

Ivana pressed closer to Leon’s mother, her eyes fixed on her: "I really want to know now, how did you bribe the doctor to take Ian away?"

She didn’t break Leon’s trust by probing him deeply, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t suspicious about these things.

She knew Leon’s character; if he were responsible, he would admit it, and thus far, there’s been no reasonable explanation, indicating all was orchestrated by Leon’s mother behind the scenes.

Since Leon’s mother had torn the facade today, Ivana demanded answers from her.

At this, the matriarch shot a puzzled glance over.

Leon’s mother was panicked, wracked her brains but found no suitable excuse, so she said flippantly: "You lost Ian yourself, and a kind doctor placed him in an incubator. I happened to visit that hospital for treatment, saw how pitiful Ian was, and took him home. Later, during a check-up, I discovered he was my biological grandson."

"Ivana Monroe, how vile are you? To harm your own son? If it weren’t for my connection to Ian, who knows what suffering he’d be enduring now!"

Fawn Rhodes angrily said: "You are spouting nonsense! Why would Ivana abandon Ian? She cherishes Timmy, Ian is her life too. And you an old harpy stole Ian, casting a baseless accusation on Ivana?"

"Ivana, I’ve had enough, call Leon Keane! Let him come and clarify this mess, everything will be sorted out when he arrives."

Ivana nodded, pulling out her phone.

"Don’t make that call." Leon’s mother suddenly burst out: "Ivana, you bitch, don’t think of having Leon come and help you. Both the matriarch and I won’t let such a malicious woman remain in the Kane family."

Fawn Rhodes retaliated at Leon’s mother: "Calling others a bitch, what about you? You’re an old hag with a foul mouth."

"You..." Leon’s mother was so furious it clouded her senses, her breathing faltered.

Fawn Rhodes callously said: "Feeling tight-chested, short of breath, trembling all over, aren’t you? Well yes, you’re near death."

"You..." Leon’s mother’s eyes bulged, her chest stifled with overwhelming anger, she felt awful, her body shook more violently.

Fawn Rhodes laughed heartily.

"Mrs. Kane, what’s the matter?" A man was alarmed by her expression and quickly extended a hand to soothe her. Upon hearing Fawn’s laughter, he frowned: "You’re driving Mrs. Kane to death, and you’ll be legally liable for it."

Fawn Rhodes scoffed: "Let her die, and if that makes me end up in jail, I’m perfectly happy."

Without this old woman, Ivana and Leon could be fine, she’s always stirring up trouble.

Leon’s mother breathed heavily, seeing Ivana truly dial Leon’s number to get him here, her face turning red and blue, summoning strength to shove the man aside and charge at Ivana.

Leon’s mother moved swiftly, knocking Ivana to the ground, grabbing her phone and smashing it hard on the floor: "Bitch, you calling Leon, you calling him."

Ivana was knocked to the ground, her face instantly pale, and after smashing her phone, Leon’s mother began hitting her.

Ivana didn’t fight back, curling up, shielding her abdomen, as if fearing Leon’s mother would harm her unborn child.

Leon’s mother swung two punches, expecting Ivana to retaliate, but surprisingly, this wretched woman didn’t fight back, likely frightened by her fury, Leon’s mother smugly thought, not anticipating this wretched woman just needed a beating; the more ruthless, the more afraid.

Thus, the hitting grew increasingly vicious.

Fawn Rhodes snapped out of her brief daze and charged forward, shouting: "Stop."

Leon’s mother was not about to relent.
