Fierce Daddy: His Million-Dollar Sweetheart
Chapter 587: Taking a Stand
CHAPTER 587: CHAPTER 587: TAKING A STAND
Jonas Holloway, his legs trembling, came before Ivana Monroe, and with a thud, knelt down, clutching Ivana’s legs. "I was wrong, Young Mrs. Kane, I was truly wrong. It was Mrs. Kane who approached me first; she wanted to harm you. I was foolish to agree to her. Please forgive me!"
"What are you doing? Let go of me."
Holding a phone, Ivana was extremely uncomfortable and even felt nauseous with Jonas clutching her leg.
Jonas didn’t let go; instead, he held on tightly. "Young Mrs. Kane, you are the kindest, please forgive me! I’m begging you."
"Hey, how can you be like this? Let go of Ivana."
Fawn Rhodes jumped over and reached out to pull Jonas away.
Jonas was like a rascal, holding onto Ivana’s leg stubbornly.
Mrs. Kane was furious, her face turning red from anger. This greedy reporter, why didn’t he refuse when taking the money? Now that Ivana, this little bitch, got the evidence, he kneels in front of Ivana like a dog to please her?
Dog reporter.
Mrs. Kane cursed silently in her heart.
"Fawn, let me help you."
Stacy Floyd rolled up her sleeves, completely disregarding her celebrity image, and came over to help Fawn pull away this scumbag, Jonas.
Ivana is pregnant now, and this shameless scumbag is holding her leg. If she accidentally falls, it might harm the baby in her womb!
"Let us handle this."
Two big guys who followed Ivana in ran over, unable to stand by any longer.
The two big guys got ahead of Stacy, not wanting their idol to damage her image for such a person, nor did they want their girlfriend or goddess to know that they didn’t heroically help Ivana when they saw Jonas clinging to her leg.
The two boys were strong; each grabbed one of Jonas’s hands, and within seconds, they pried his fingers off one by one, dragging him away from Ivana like a mad dog.
"Thank you."
Ivana thanked the two big guys. After saying it, she covered her mouth, feeling a bit nauseous. Having her leg clutched earlier made her unwell, but her stomach wasn’t in pain, so the baby was fine.
"You’re welcome."
The two big guys blushed. Seeing Ivana feeling nauseous, looking uncomfortable, they slapped Jonas’s head a few times.
Scum, this is what you get for bullying Ivana.
Pulled away by the two big guys, Jonas was already in a bad mood. Now, with these two brats slapping his head, Jonas was furious.
"Let go of me, you two little brats, I’ll make sure you pay for this."
Jonas flared up in anger.
"Ha... Am I scared?"
"Alright! Let’s see how you make us pay. I’ve never experienced that before! Perhaps it’s time to try it today."
The two big guys weren’t scared. He was just a reporter; even if he had connections, so what? Doesn’t everyone have some connections as well?
Who’s afraid of whom?
Ivana’s phone rang again; it was still that stranger sending a message—a video, this time featuring Mrs. Kane and Lucas Pierce.
Ivana’s discomfort vanished; she smiled and looked at the reporters present: "Let’s broadcast another exciting video for you all!"
All the reporters’ cameras were aimed at Ivana. Some, feeling guilty, wavered, aiming not at her phone but at Ivana’s face. However, they quickly received calls from higher-ups telling them to focus on Ivana’s phone.
All the media were watching this live broadcast!
Everyone wanted their platform to air better, especially since Ivana had just thrown out such an enticing message.
Both the reporters and the audience were eager to know what this exciting video would show next.
"Mrs... Mrs. Kane, hello..."
Such a familiar opening line.
One of the reporters trembled fiercely because he was the owner of the voice in the video.
Six minutes later, the faces of several reporters appeared on Ivana’s phone.
All of these reporters had been bribed by Mrs. Kane.
The exposed reporters looked terrible, especially given the strange looks from reporters of other outlets nearby. They wished for a hole to hide in. Actually, this wasn’t the worst; the worst was they might be at the end of their journalism careers. Although Ivana hadn’t dealt with them like Jonas, calling for their removal from the journalism industry, this exposure meant their faces were on TV, seen by most people in Ravenswood, and the company would fire them.
They’re full of regret!
They took Mrs. Kane’s meager benefits and now faced utter humiliation, soon to lose their steady jobs.
Seeing all the reporters silent, Ivana smirked coldly, shifting her gaze to Mrs. Kane: "Next, it’s your turn."
Mrs. Kane’s heart fluttered; Ivana’s gaze was so sharp. But she quickly composed herself. Why be afraid of this little bitch Ivana? It was indeed Ivana who stirred things up between her and Leon. The incident of her jumping into the sea on F-Island was real, after all.
Mrs. Kane pretended to be flustered, afraid of Ivana: "You... Don’t come over, don’t try to harm me. I don’t want to die; I really don’t. Ivana, I’ve done nothing to wrong you. Why won’t you forgive this poor old woman? Do you want me to die so that you’re happy?"
Fawn looked at Mrs. Kane in surprise. This damned old woman, when at the Kane family mansion, wasn’t acting this way. She looked like she was going to eat Ivana and was ordering the maid in an overbearing manner to hit her and Ivana.
This damned old woman sure knows how to put on a show in front of the camera.
"Stop acting. How did you treat Ivana at the Kane family mansion? Have you forgotten? Want me to help you remember?"
Fawn said angrily.
"No, no." Mrs. Kane "fearfully" cried, clasping her hands together, saying to Fawn: "I was wrong. I shouldn’t have held that press conference, hoping the media would help me seek justice. I was utterly wrong. I’ll go back to the isolated island in F Country now, die on that island, and never return to Ravenswood to bother you. Just, please, even though Ian isn’t Ivana’s biological son, he’s Leon’s son! Don’t harm him."
"I never thought you had acting talent."
Ivana looked at Mrs. Kane sarcastically; her performance was quite something.
"Ivana, do you have any evidence to prove yourself?" Stacy asked softly beside Ivana.
She’s an actress and understands what kind of impact a "performance" can have on people. Mrs. Kane has a talent for acting; she was crying her heart out, portraying an old woman’s helplessness and fear vividly. Viewers watching might feel sympathy for Mrs. Kane. If Ivana doesn’t produce convincing evidence, Mrs. Kane might gain the upper hand. Including the prior bribery of reporters, viewers might apply filters themselves, thinking Mrs. Kane was desperate and thus acted that way.
