Chapter 68: Idonotfear II
CHAPTER 68: IDONOTFEAR II
Unknown: "I can. Then you can decide when you want me to hand it over. I can also have Slimes with any affinity you want. So, which elemental Affinity you want?"
Maya’s eyes narrowed.
’If he can give me any element Slime then it mean he have the way to get Ancient Slimes’
Maya: "Is there a way to get an Ancient Slime with a Life element?"
She stroked the sleeping wolf pup in her lap, thinking of her growing roster.
"My Night Fangs wolf already has Darkness and Decay. I need something to balance the lineup."
Unknown: "Life element... rare as hell. But I’ll try to force it. If it doesn’t work, I’ll send you another slime with something similar to Life affinity. Deal?"
Maya’s lips twitched. He was confident—too confident. Either he was bluffing, or he had a method worth killing for.
"Deal," she typed back, already considering her ways to track him if he tried to vanish after their meeting.
Unknown: "Good. I’ll contact you once the slime’s ready. Then we’ll talk about the rest."
The chat window blinked out, leaving Maya staring at the empty space in her HUD.
She leaned back, fingers drumming on the armrest.
"So... another player with class related to Ancients huh. And he’s hunting for me."
The wolf pup stirred, yawning wide enough to flash its small but sharp teeth. Maya scratched behind its ears, her mind already running through scenarios. If this stranger really had a way to manipulate Ancient beast traits, then working with him—even temporarily—could give her an advantage that no guild on the server could match.
"I hope its just not an hoax" She mumbled as she stood up and putting the pup in her Heart Space as she left the city moving towards the Golden Sun City, the Holy City of Sun God and also from where she got her first class Sun warrior.

Rhys closed the chat as he leaned back on the inn bed.
"To think she got the class this early..." he mumbled, surprised that she could obtain it so soon.
"But... if it’s also great, the faster I get closer to her, the more trust I can build up with her," he thought. His mind drifted to the Ancient Slime. "But now as for the slime with the Life Element, lest see if I can get it."
He opened the forums, searching for mentions of the slime with life-lending powers. There were many posts—most from newbies—describing sightings of a green slime with strange markings on its body.
"Found it," he muttered as he stood, leaving the inn.
Rhys didn’t comment on the system message—he’d expected the restriction.
Without wasting time, he adjusted his grip on his sword and headed toward the far edge of the village, where the slime spawning fields stretched out.
Shallow pools of clear water shimmered in the afternoon light, dotted with clusters of mossy rocks and vibrant greenery. From these pools and patches, slimes of various colors and textures bounced lazily—pale-blue Water Slimes and soft-green Plant Slimes.
It didn’t take long before he spotted a particularly docile-looking Plant Slime.
With a quick, clean motion, he lunged forward, net in hand, and scooped it up. The slime squirmed once before settling inside the sturdy beginner-grade pet ring he’d prepared. A faint glow sealed the bond, and the creature’s information window flashed up—harmless and weak, just as he wanted.
"Perfect... now we have our template," he muttered, glancing at the little slime inside the pet ring. The Pet ring are special as they can be used to form temporary contracts with any beasts.
"Now to next step" Rhys mumbled as he went back to village and then began to look around.
Soon, he spotted his target, Rhys walked over to a small wooden stall at the side of the field. A bored-looking NPC sat behind it with a faded sign that read:
’1 copper coin for 10 slime cores’
He leaned casually on the counter, striking up a short exchange. "Buying or selling?" the NPC droned.
"Buying. A lot," Rhys replied, sliding over a few coppers.
The NPC nodded and in the end Rhys bought 1000 of theses cores.
"Cores secured and now for the last part" Rhys mumbled as he left the village going back to the Slime field.
Rhys made his way deeper into the slime field, where the grass grew taller and the pools grew murkier. The air was damper here, and the sounds of the village faded. Following the trail of squelches and faint glowing shapes, he eventually found what he was looking for—
—a Plant slime spawner, tucked between two moss-covered boulders. Unlike the simple pools, this one pulsed faintly with magic, its surface rippling in unnatural patterns. Each minute, a faint shimmer passed over the water, and a new slime emerged.
Rhys crouched low, smirking. "There you are..."
"Now... let’s create the Ancient Slime of the Life element," he murmured, his voice low with anticipation. Placing the plant-element slime from his pet ring on the center of the spawner he began the process of the evolution. He began to feed the Slime cores to the plant slime as its gelatinous body quivering as it consumed the cores. Soon he feed him the required amount as the Slime began to shine like an bulb as its evolution was triggered.
"Good... now, evolve into a Life-element slime," Rhys muttered.
The plant slime have now condensed into an green pulsating core as its evolution was almost complete as its outer gelatanious body will now form completing the evolution, But before he could even blink, Puddle who was perched on his shoulder suddenly darted forward and swallowed the glowing core whole.
The system messages flashed immediately:
[ Your temporray pet Plant Slime has died ]
Rhys froze, eyes narrowing. "Wait... what?"
Another set of notifications appeared before he could react:
[ Your tamed beast Puddle has consumed the core of an Ancient Life Element Slime ]
[ Your Tamed beast is evolving...]
[ Tamed beast’s rank has advanced from Rare to Epic ]
[ Puddle now possesses the Ancient Life Element ]
A bright light engulfed Puddle’s body. When it faded, the slime’s form had completely changed—its surface now glistened with white, black, and blue streaks, all threaded through with a faint, otherworldly green glow that pulsed like a heartbeat.
"No way you can actually gain more elements like tis?" Rhys asked in shock, still processing the sudden evolution.
In response, Puddle trembled, and a wave of pure life magic washed outward—its potency so vivid that for a moment, Rhys swore he felt his own HP tick upward.
"Wait a second..." Rhys froze as he saw the spawner still intact. "Well, atleast it didn’t broke. I guess I’ll have to go back and repeat the process get another Ancient Life Slime," he said, scratching his head while Puddle nudged against him happily. He added with a smile, "You did well. I’ll now give you all the elements I can find for you."
If Puddle could gain all the elements, then he wasn’t going to waste this oppurtunity—he is going to make the most overpowered slime.
"But let’s first see what this Ancient Life Element is," Rhys said as he opened Puddle’s status screen to the new element slot.
Ancient Life Magic – Level 1
Vital Bloom – Releases a burst of rejuvenating pollen, healing allies for 8% of their max HP instantly.
Mana Cost: 400
Cooldown: 120s
Nature’s Embrace – Summons vines to shield a target, absorbing damage equal to 12% of their max HP for 6s.
Mana Cost: 1055
Cooldown: 200s
"Hmm, it’s just level 1, huh? I guess it’s new, not old as your other skills," Rhys nodded, then went back to catch another plant slime.
This time, as the Ancient Life Core formed, Puddle didn’t absorb it—instead, he watched as an Ancient Life Element slime was formed, its name being called Spirit of the Forest.
Meanwhile, Puddle, whose species earlier was Ancient Black King of White Rivers, was now classified as—Emerald King of Twilight Seas.
"I really wonder who comes up with these poetic names for little living jellies," Rhys mumbled, seeing Puddle’s new species name. He took a screenshot of the Ancient Life Element slime and sent it to Maya—her in-game name was Idonotfear.
As in just a second, her reply popped back:"No way! You really got it?""Okay, lets meet now. I’m at the Golden Sun City, at the Golden Fox Hotel, room 12—just come here," she said and her messages sound eager.
Rhys nodded and, as he put the life slime inside the pet ring and stood up."Alright, this Village only has a water and plant slime—if not, maybe another element, Puddle," he said to the slime, who tilted its eyes cutely, kyuu kyuu noises bubbling out.
"First, get Maya, and then my next step will be giving you as many as Elements I can," Rhys said as he begun to leave the forest and went back into village.
And with the Village Chief help he got teleported to the Golden Sun city.
"What a grand city," he murmured as he arrived just outside its gate.
