Chapter 346: I found his family
CHAPTER 346: I FOUND HIS FAMILY
The air was thick with unspoken tension as Isiah returned, his past actions hanging like a heavy cloud over the group.
None of them dared to inquire about his mysterious ventures during his absence, and Astrid, the sole bearer of knowledge, maintained a stoic silence.
Isiah, seemingly indifferent to the weight of the unasked questions, nonchalantly announced his decision to take them with him.
The abruptness of his return and the lack of explanation left the group in a state of uncertainty, wondering about the secrets he harbored and the motives behind his actions.
Isiah’s actions were swift and decisive; without waiting for Ciel to make a decision, he cast a sleeping spell on him and effortlessly lifted the young boy into his arms.
With Eijar perched on his shoulders, Isiah began to walk with purpose, leaving Astrid to follow in his enigmatic wake.
Eijar’s voice whispered urgently in Isiah’s ear, "What have you done? Who is this girl you brought?"
Isiah kept walking, his pace unwavering, and replied to Eijar, "She’s necessary for what comes next. You’ll understand soon enough."
Eijar tightened her grip on his shoulder, uneasy with the mysterious turn of events..
Eijar couldn’t contain her curiosity. She bombarded him with questions, asking, "Where are we going? Why did you leave for all this time? What are we going to do? And why are you trying to use this girl? Who is Astrid?"
Despite her inquiries, Isiah remained tight-lipped, leaving the answers to linger in the air, veiled in uncertainty.
Isiah’s thoughts were fixated on leaving the underground city and heading to Qusda City.
She questioned, "Are we even allowed to leave this place?"
"No one is going to stop us, especially after what I’ve done," Isiah declared.
Khaz appeared, his face bloodied, and sternly exclaimed, "You shouldn’t do this to our leaders."
He pushed him against the wall with his dark energy, tightening it around his neck, suffocating him.
Instead of delivering a fatal blow, he coldly presented Khaz with a choice, "You want to live, or you want to die? Because I have a mission for you."
All eyes were fixed on Isiah, wondering about the mysterious mission he had for Khaz. Isiah’s only words were, "When that girl dies, let me know."
Eijar looked bewildered, unable to comprehend why Isiah harbored such intense animosity towards her.
Despite witnessing his death in Delwias island and not doing anything about it, since their reunion, she had consistently acted in his favor.
Lexie had been a considerable help to them.
Eijar exclaimed, "You hate her so much, Isiah. Even I didn’t realize the extent of your hatred."
He looked at Eijar, a coldness in his gaze, and without uttering a word, turned away.
Astrid chimed in, "This man is a killer. I don’t know why anyone would stay around him. Are you mad or something?"
She added, "Well, I think that girl, Lexie, just made a good choice by leaving."
At that moment, Eijar knew that Isaiah had done something terribly wrong.
He had killed all the leaders of the underground city of Triavert, and now he was heading to Qusda City with plans for something more.
He had found a refugee with this girl. Astrid was helping him, and there was an uneasy feeling that something was terribly wrong.
She didn’t know what to do anymore but to follow him.
"Well, you’re terribly wrong if you think the kid is going to follow you without doing anything.
He loved Lexie, considered her family. She took care of him, protected him more than any of us did.
They spent a lot of time together. He saw how much she suffered when you left this time.
He won’t accept the way you treated her. Maybe he didn’t express himself well, but you might lose him if you ditch Lexie like that," Eijar said.
"You think I didn’t think about that? "He said, his voice dripping with anger." He’ll completely forget her when I tell him that I found his real family.
Yeah, I found them, and I’m going to do the necessary with them for leaving him like that in that region unprotected. They’ll pay for abandoning him, just like she’s paying now."
"Well, bravo! You’re planning to kill the people he cares about the most – Lexie, who practically raised him and protected him when you were gone, and now, his long-lost family, for whom he searched tirelessly.
Genius move! What’s next on your list of family destruction? I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to embrace your warmth after that."
Isiah threw Khaz to the ground, leaving him behind.
He had no intentions of sticking around. This place was just a pitstop for him.
Isiah’s return had a single purpose – to eliminate the leaders who stood in the way of taking Ciel and Eijar.
They wanted to manipulate him.
His failure to meet the expectations set by the leaders led to this brutal conclusion.
The promises he made initially about offering protection remained unfulfilled, marking the beginning of the end for his ties to this underground city.
Khaz, gasping for breath, repeated with heightened regret and longing, "You don’t deserve her.
You don’t deserve a girl like her. I never met a person like her. If you’ve seen how her eyes glittered when I told her that you were back last night. You just don’t deserve her. Fuck, you just don’t."
Isiah, seemingly unfazed by Khaz’s words, continued walking away, his dark energy dissipating.
He didn’t spare a glance back or acknowledge the sentiments echoing in the air.
Eijar exchanged a knowing look with Astrid.
The serpent whispered to her, "This man is blind to what he’s losing."
Meanwhile, Ciel was still unconscious from the sleeping spell . The effects of the enchantment held him in a dreamless slumber.
The tension lingered in the air as they prepared to leave the underground city.
Isiah’s actions had set in motion a chain of events that would reshape their journey, leaving behind uncertainty and a lingering sense of loss.
