CHAPTER 1087: CHAPTER 1068: SELECTING PRODUCTIVE BITES
In his psychological expectation, to achieve a tactical effect in this competition, the height of this fish layer is the minimum requirement. Now that it has reached, it means the phase of luring the fish to the nest has officially ended.
Wang Xiaomin finally pulled down the float once more and officially began fishing.
Using double hooks with red insect bait, the leader line is supplemented with a virtual cannon, which is pinched loosely and quickly atomizes upon entering the water, leaving only two grains of red insect bait.
As soon as the first rod went down, he saw two continuous, vigorous snatch bites dropping down, and Wang Xiaomin immediately lifted the rod to set the hook!
Double catch!
"Yue Feng, look quickly, Xiaomin started capturing bites! The first rod caught a double!"
Upon seeing this, Tian Tian hurriedly looked at the time. At this moment, 18 minutes had passed since the competition began, precisely within the 15-20 minutes Yue Feng guessed!
Yue Feng glanced at Wang Xiaomin’s action of returning with a double fish catch and nodded: "The fish layer is at about seventy centimeters, already excellent! With this water layer, carp usually don’t reach such heights!"
From the moment Wang Xiaomin captured the bite, he quickly entered a burst connection state, with a double tail rate of over 70%.
This is not just fishing bream; the intensity is comparable to fly-kicking single-tail carp.
The rod is strong, and the technique is equally strong. The previously showcased fly-kicking big bream skill is demonstrated perfectly once more.
At the start of this fly-kicking session, it lasted for over half an hour, with Wang Xiaomin almost like a robot, repeatedly casting the rod, catching the fish, and fly-kicking to set the fish free, repeating this non-stop.
Tian Tian helped count, within just ten minutes, he admitted 36 fish into the guard, and his efficiency was far superior to other masters in the same competition.
As the competition time extends, by now, ordinary anglers at other spots have gradually passed the rush fish period, and the fish situation slows down.
But this is not the most critical part, as the density of bream decreases, the various situations of fishing error, anchor fishing, and nest explosion in many anglers’ nests start to increase crazily.
Clearly, there seemed like very good bite actions, but lifting the rod either hooks the tail or anchors the fish’s body.
If it’s caught on a high-back carp, that’s better, at most you pull off a scale and the fish runs away.
Unluckier anglers hook onto the powerful, scaleless mirror carp, causing the main line to whizz sound loudly.
One extremely unlucky fellow didn’t break his leader line or main line, but because of anchoring a fish, accidentally broke his rod tip,
The loud crack echoed in the closed space of the Winter Fishing Hall, like a firecracker was set off, causing many anglers to curiously glance over.
Looking at Wang Xiaomin at this moment, the bite in his nest hadn’t ceased, yet the fish conditions 70 centimeters off the bottom were stubbornly brought down to 50 centimeters by him.
You may ask where did those 20 centimeters go? The answer is Wang Xiaomin put them all into the fish guard with his high-frequency double fish catches.
Next door, another angler anchored a fish, and the hook came off on the steel structure of the roof. Tian Tian finally couldn’t hold back.
"Yue Feng, I realize that during our idle chat earlier, the comments about you mixing Kuangjing weren’t candid enough!"
"Oh? Why? Have you found it inappropriate to speak ill of me and have a conscience realizing?" Yue Feng grinned and said.
"No, I think you’ve exceeded the limit of bad! This fish situation is simply devilish!
If you don’t pay attention, you’ll anchor a fish, and anchoring leads to nest explosion! There’s even a hook coming off on the beam, and the float just accidentally blew up the roof!
Take that angler next to Xiaomin as an example, the bite was fast a moment ago, anchored a fish once, now the bite just stopped!"
"Haha, if every bite leads to a fish without any ripples, how is this a fishing competition worth mentioning?
Haven’t the viewers in the live stream said, capturing bites is also part of fishing skill, and it’s an extremely important part!
Even though these bites are chaotic, if the fundamental skills of capturing bites are strong, it’s still possible to fish well!"
"You keep talking about capturing bites, so now take this chance and discuss how you would capture bites today, if you didn’t choose Xiaomin’s alternative fishing method and you were competing, how would you capture bites!"
"Alright, since we’re here, I’ll briefly share my thoughts! Let’s explain things thoroughly.
First, we need to clarify a fundamental premise concept! How is the float bite actually formed!
In normal trolling, the main line is generally taut or slightly curved, with the dual hooks at the bottom. Once a fish bites the bait, it will pull the fishing line, causing the float to perform various actions!
If the trolling is appropriate, it will display various sizes of pauses or other distinguished float appearances.
In this process, I define the behavior of float appearing a pause, followed by lifting the rod, as capturing a bite! That is, grasping the timing of lifting the rod when the fish is in a bait-eating state!
If the hook is in the mouth when the rod is lifted, the fish is successfully caught; if not, it’s a blank shot. If the hook is on the side of the fish’s body, tail, fin, or other parts, it’s anchoring a fish!
Now, having explained the principles, let’s talk about capturing bites in the shed this season!
Actually, catching bites at the Hot Spring Winter Fishing Hall is much less challenging than in an ordinary winter fishing hall! The water temperature is sufficient, and the data like algal activity, dissolved oxygen, and ammonia nitrogen levels are excellent, keeping fish active.
Under such circumstances, the bite actions are relatively standard. Most of the mistakes that occur for many people can be avoided through reasonable choice of bite.
Now, let’s talk about the difference in float appearance between bait-taking and line bumping.
During bait-taking, the float’s actions mostly have some subtle preliminary manifestations, such as slightly topping up, or a small downward pull followed by continuous sinking!
In such float appearances, the success rate of a correct bite is much higher.
Then let’s talk about line bumping, or the false signals generated by large fish swimming around in the nest?
In line bumping, the action is exaggerated; often one sees a heart-rate-inducing action, hitting two or three marks or even larger, which absolutely won’t be a bite action. The chance of setting the rod and anchoring a fish at this point is very high.
Notice those anglers frequently losing fish and hooks. Are they setting the rod immediately upon seeing an action, afraid of missing out on catches? Capturing every bite like this, you can’t blame others for losing fish, losing hooks, and exploding nests!
In my opinion, the hardest action to differentiate is the one caused by fish stirring near the nest, producing a float appearance.
Sometimes these float appearances are very misleading, with slight fluttering, small vertical movements, followed by small pauses in float appearances. But this small pause acceleration isn’t caused by the fish’s mouth swallowing bait, but rather by the tail sweeping the fishing line or the water flow!
To identify such cases, it depends on an angler’s understanding of their float’s performance!
At this point, I like to perform a subtraction, meaning if the float appearance differs from the standard fish bite, if there is any issue, I won’t capture the bite, preferring to miss rather than capture incorrectly, reducing the error rate to the lowest!
Of course, in such cases, often you have to rely on a feeling, having somewhat of an elusive and mysterious notion! Practice more, summarize more, and improvements can be made!"
