Chapter 719: Standing Up for My Little Sister
CHAPTER 719: CHAPTER 719: STANDING UP FOR MY LITTLE SISTER
Louis Hayes was the first to arrive at Corinthia Pier and had already gathered information about the yacht where Nora Northwood was and its sea route.
"Has Rhys Linden arrived?"
"I haven’t seen Young Master Linden."
Jasper Sinclair’s expression darkened. He glanced at his watch; there were less than three minutes left until eleven o’clock.
A delay of even a second could mean increased danger for Nora, and he couldn’t gamble with her safety.
Immediately, he changed the plan: "Come with me."
Before coming, Louis Hayes had already prepared to board the yacht, even wearing an extra layer of clothing.
Even in midsummer, the temperature on the sea was still below twenty degrees, especially at this time.
Just as the two of them were about to board the yacht, two blinding headlights shone from behind.
"Jasper!"
Rhys Linden had arrived.
He barely stopped as he closed the car door and ran toward Jasper Sinclair’s silhouette.
Since Rhys Linden was here, Jasper Sinclair left Louis Hayes at the pier to coordinate and had him contact the guard post.
When they had traveled thirty nautical miles, they saw a brightly lit yacht.
The yacht was already moving slowly, and Jasper Sinclair and Rhys Linden had a smooth boarding.
Clearly, someone had arranged things in advance.
Inside the yacht, most of the sea breeze was blocked. The main hall was bright and luxurious, with no hint of a tense atmosphere.
Jasper Sinclair even wondered if it was a prank call.
Even the person beside him had similar doubts, "Jasper, could we have the wrong place?"
"The yacht’s not that big. Did you notice? We’ve gone around, and we haven’t seen Nora and Yvonne Winslow anywhere."
In an instant, Rhys Linden had a moment of clarity.
The two of them went to the second floor of the yacht and started searching room by room.
Finally, they found a spot that was different from the others.
The mixed smell of smoke and alcohol made them instinctively cover their mouths and noses.
Nora and Yvonne were being restrained by someone.
Lily Sloan was being forced to gamble at a card table with two brawny men holding her, and each time she lost a round, her friend would be forced to drink a glass of alcohol.
Moreover, she had to choose whether that glass would be for Nora or Yvonne.
The man sitting across from them looked roughly forty, with a deep scar on his right cheek, epitomizing a thug-like appearance.
He had a cigar in his mouth that made Lily Sloan’s eyes water, making it hard for her to see the cards in her hand.
Jasper Sinclair grabbed Rhys Linden’s wrist and whispered, "Don’t be impulsive, follow my lead."
The two approached one after the other, and Jasper Sinclair effortlessly untied the ropes around Nora, and similarly, rescued Yvonne.
No one stopped him; everything happened naturally.
Then, under everyone’s watchful gaze, he took Lily Sloan’s place, saying, "Mr. Shepherd, playing with young girls isn’t your style."
"You ruined my little sister’s life, so I let your women drink a few glasses; isn’t that fair?"
"A couple’s sins can’t be laid at my door."
Listening to their conversation, Nora pondered over who "my little sister" could be referring to.
Mr. Shepherd put down the cards in his hand, gripping the cigar in his fingers, and shouted angrily, "The Woodward Family’s misdeeds can’t be blamed on my little sister!"
"Can you dare to say that Yvonne Shepherd wasn’t involved at all in this?"
Yvonne Shepherd, Yvonne Shepherd... Nora repeated the name in her mind and suddenly realized she was Mrs. Woodward, Rachel Woodward’s mother.
