CHAPTER 844: CHAPTER 844: REUNION AFTER A MONTH APART

After dinner, Vincent Morgan took Nora Northwood back to her place.

She had short-leased a large villa for a month in a certain neighborhood, claiming: it felt more homely than a hotel.

"You just moved in, there must be a lot to organize, do you need me to stay and help?"

"Morgan, you’ve done more than enough for me, thank you for bringing me back. Once I’m settled, I’ll invite you over some time."

Nora’s implicit hint for him to leave was obvious, after all, a single man and woman alone in a room, it wouldn’t look good if word got out.

She escorted him to the entrance hall, just about to open the door when the doorbell rang first.

Nora thought they had accidentally bumped into the doorbell.

Vincent Morgan, who was walking ahead, opened the door, and suddenly, a tall figure entered the view.

Jasper Sinclair was wearing a cool white shirt, exuding an unbeatable texture, with his jacket casually draped over his shoulder.

He glanced past Vincent, looking directly at Nora behind him, "Nora, you crossed half the globe just to hide here?"

Their eyes met, and Nora underestimated Jasper’s speed in finding her.

From the start, she knew she couldn’t escape Jasper’s grasp, but she didn’t expect him to come so quickly...

Nora quietly swallowed, adjusted her breathing, and pretended as if nothing happened, saying, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about."

"Deceiving me time and time again, you must feel accomplished."

Jasper wanted to take another step forward, but unfortunately, a living person stood in the way.

He increasingly felt that Vincent was an eyesore, thinking he should find an opportunity to give him a good talking-to.

"Mr. Sinclair, Nora is your wife, she has her freedom, she’s not your possession."

As soon as Vincent started speaking, Jasper challenged her, "This is between me and her, it’s not your place to interfere."

To prevent a bigger conflict, Nora stepped forward two steps, blocking the two men, and then turned her shoulder slightly towards Vincent, "Morgan, thank you for bringing me back. My husband and I have things to discuss, let’s catch up when I return home."

Vincent showed a bitter expression, having just mustered up the courage for a formal confession, not even a day had passed before his dream shattered.

As such, he couldn’t say much more.

Nora escorted him out the door, and when Jasper wasn’t watching, she apologized again.

"Morgan, I’m really sorry, things are a bit unexpected, we’ll probably have to meet again when I’m back."

Despite feeling uneasy inside, Vincent’s demeanor remained graceful, not showing any strangeness, he replied, "No need to apologize to me, I should be the one taking better care of you. If you need help, contact me anytime."

After the farewell, Nora returned inside, without glancing at Jasper, she walked straight into the house.

The man followed her and only stopped by the sofa.

The upbringing ingrained in her bones made it impossible for Nora to act rudely, even if he was a husband who had let her down time and time again.

She took out two bottles of mineral water, placing one in front of Jasper and the other in front of herself, "It’s my first day moving in, all I have is mineral water. Let’s sit and talk, standing the whole time makes my neck sore."

With that, she exaggeratedly twisted her neck.
