CHAPTER 67: CHAPTER 67: LET HIM PLAY AGAINST ME

It was still a bit cold in Veridian in the late April mornings.

Clara finished washing up and checked the temperature, only fourteen degrees.

She picked out a set of white sportswear, long sleeves and pants, wrapping herself up tightly, her hair pulled into a high ponytail, looking fresh and neat.

She was going out to play golf with Silas Sheffield for relaxation today, and Ethan Fuller and Kevin Kensington would also be joining.

They were all close friends, in a casual and entertaining setting. Clara just washed her face and applied some skincare, going downstairs with a bare face, without even putting on makeup.

Downstairs.

Silas Sheffield was standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby, on the phone.

He was still wearing his dark gray loungewear.

Clara saw he was busy, so she didn’t greet him and went straight to the dining room.

After finishing the call, Silas Sheffield walked over, "Changed clothes?"

Clara lifted the corners of her lips, smiling, "Yeah, do I look good in this?"

"You look great," Silas Sheffield said, "I’ll go change too."

A few minutes later.

Silas Sheffield came downstairs after changing.

Clara looked over, her eyes brightened, and she couldn’t help but pause her gaze.

Silas Sheffield was dressed in an all-white sports suit, tall and upright, with handsome features, exuding an elegant and gentle noble aura, coupled with a bit more warmth.

It was a completely different feeling compared to his usual aloof and distant vibe in dark clothes.

Seeing Clara staring at him in a daze, Silas Sheffield chuckled in a good mood, "What’s the matter?"

"It’s the first time I’ve seen you in white," Clara said with a smile, "I didn’t expect it to look this good."

"Doesn’t it look like a couple’s outfit?" Silas Sheffield walked over and sat beside her.

Clara’s cheeks turned red, her heart filled with sweetness, "So you wore white just to match with me?"

Silas Sheffield raised an eyebrow, "What else?"

A smile spread across Clara’s lips.

She hadn’t expected Silas Sheffield to have such a thoughtful side.

The Royal Golf Course.

By the time they arrived, Kevin Kensington and Ethan Fuller were already there waiting.

Seeing Silas Sheffield and Clara Sterling in their all-white outfits, Kevin Kensington and Ethan Fuller exchanged a knowing glance.

Ethan Fuller teased, "Oh, dressed in couple’s attire."

Silas Sheffield lightly curled his lips, "Let’s go in."

Clara pressed her lips together in a smile and followed Silas Sheffield towards the course.

Clara had never played golf before and didn’t even know the rules.

Silas Sheffield briefly explained the rules to her and then began to teach her hands-on.

Her delicate, soft hands were held by the man’s broad, warm palms.

Silas Sheffield stood tall behind Clara, enclosing her from behind.

Being so close, Clara was enveloped by the refreshing scent of cedar emanating from the man.

Their bodies pressed together, even through clothing, Clara could feel the man’s body warmth.

Ethan Fuller teased from the side, "Oh, personally teaching, how thoughtful."

Kevin Kensington laughed, "Mr. Sheffield, Clara must be the first you’ve taught, right?"

Silas Sheffield chuckled but didn’t respond.

Ethan Fuller said, "Isn’t it obvious? When has Silas ever taught anyone else?"

Then, Silas Sheffield lowered his head, his lips brushing against Clara’s earlobe, "Relax, watch the ball."

As soon as he spoke, Silas Sheffield swung the club with Clara’s hands.

Ethan Fuller and Kevin Kensington played along, exuberantly applauding.

Kevin Kensington said, "That shot was good, Clara!"

Clara smiled, "It’s thanks to Mr. Sheffield’s excellent teaching."

"Want to try another swing?" Silas Sheffield held Clara, whispering in her ear with a magnetic voice, "Let’s help you get the feel for it."

At nearly 1.9 meters tall, Silas Sheffield was tall and robust, giving Clara a feeling of being a small bird relying on a person when in his embrace.

With softness and fragrance in his arms, gentle and tender, Silas Sheffield was reluctant to let go.

Kevin Kensington nearby sighed, "I knew I’d be stuffed with dog food today. I wouldn’t have eaten breakfast this morning if I had known."

Ethan Fuller added, "Give him a break, he’s been single for so long and finally found a wife, just bear with it."

Kevin Kensington smiled helplessly, "Fine, I’ll go find myself a girlfriend too."

Clara blushed a little, listening to Kevin Kensington and Ethan Fuller’s jokes.

"Clara, focus." Silas Sheffield’s thin lips brushed against Clara’s tender earlobe, his breath warm.

Clara’s cheeks blushed even more.

Silas Sheffield guided Clara through another swing.

A hole-in-one.

"Wow! Silas has got skills!" Kevin Kensington clapped.

Silas Sheffield smiled confidently.

The spring breeze brushed by, and Clara was dazzled by Silas Sheffield’s smile, her heart fluttering, leaving her momentarily dazed and forgetting to move.

People at Sheffield said Silas Sheffield was cold while Julian Hawthorne was gentle, but they had never seen Silas Sheffield’s smile.

"President Sheffield, what a coincidence to see you here for a game," a man’s voice suddenly cut in.

Clara turned around, catching Isaac Sutton’s face by surprise, her gaze pausing.

Isaac Sutton’s face tensed, instinctively stopping in his tracks.

The man who had just spoken was Graham Sutton, who was walking towards Silas Sheffield with Isaac Sutton, a flattering smile on his face.

Of course, Silas Sheffield recognized Graham Sutton, and he also recognized Isaac Sutton.

The former, he’d seen at some business banquets, tech expos, and entrepreneur conferences.

The latter, he had seen in Clara Sterling’s social circle.

But at the moment, the smile on Silas Sheffield’s lips vanished, reverting to his usual aloofness, looking at Graham Sutton, "And you are?"

Though he’d seen Graham Sutton at some events, Sheffield and Sutton Group had never collaborated, and with Graham Sutton’s status, it was hard to have a conversation with Silas Sheffield.

So Silas Sheffield pretended not to recognize Graham Sutton, and Graham Sutton wasn’t surprised.

He smiled and said, "I’m Graham Sutton, Chairman of Keystone Inc."

Keystone Inc. is the Sutton Group’s company that collaborates with Zephyr Corp.

Silas Sheffield nodded slightly, "Hmm."

Graham Sutton, all smiles, said, "President Sheffield, I wonder if you would honor me with a game?"

In terms of age, Silas Sheffield was a good twenty years younger than Graham Sutton.

But in terms of wealth and capability, Graham Sutton was still straightforwardly respectful to Silas Sheffield.

Silas Sheffield’s gaze fell on Isaac Sutton, standing next to Graham Sutton.

Graham Sutton timely introduced, "This is my son, Isaac Sutton."

Isaac Sutton had seen from afar that Silas Sheffield was playing golf with a woman in his arms.

He hadn’t taken notice at first, accustomed to seeing wealthy men bring young, pretty companions to golf.

He thought it was some starlet or young model.

But as he came closer, he realized it was Clara Sterling!

She was just playing golf in Silas Sheffield’s arms, and they were even wearing matching outfits!

What was Clara Sterling’s relationship with Silas Sheffield?

From the moment he saw Clara Sterling, Isaac Sutton’s face hadn’t looked good.

While Silas Sheffield and Graham Sutton were speaking, his gaze was glued to Clara Sterling.

Silas Sheffield stared at Isaac Sutton, half-smiling, "Let him play with me."

Isaac Sutton frowned.

Graham Sutton immediately nodded and bowed, "Alright, then let my son accompany President Sheffield for a game."

With that, Graham Sutton patted Isaac Sutton, "Go ahead."
