Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!
Chapter 75: No Wonder You Have a Wife
CHAPTER 75: CHAPTER 75: NO WONDER YOU HAVE A WIFE
Clara was a bit conservative, and when she heard Sophie Sheffield ask this, her face couldn’t help but turn red, "Not yet."
She knew that what Sophie meant by "sleeping together" wasn’t just about sleeping.
Sophie joked with a smile, "Do you think I should start calling you sister-in-law?"
Clara shook her head, "Just call me Clara, I’m not used to ’sister-in-law’."
"Alright," Sophie glanced at the time, "Let’s grab a meal first. I’ve arranged for a stylist for you this afternoon."
Clara was slightly taken aback, a hint of confusion flashing in her eyes, "A stylist?"
"Yeah, you’re going to a class reunion tonight, aren’t you? You should dress up a little."
Clara hadn’t planned on getting a special makeover.
But as Sophie mentioned it, Clara thought about how Silas Sheffield would be there tonight, and her role would be as his wife. She should dress nicely, she couldn’t let him lose face.
At noon, the two of them found a restaurant in the mall to have lunch.
After the meal, Sophie drove Clara back to The Ripplewood Estate to change into her evening attire, then took her to the stylist’s studio.
The stylist did Clara’s hair and makeup based on her outfit.
Once the makeover was done, Sophie was amazed, "You’re so beautiful, darling. This hairstyle suits you perfectly."
"Really?"
Clara looked in the mirror, even she was stunned by her own appearance.
In the mirror, her wavy hair was smooth and shiny, her small face was exquisitely made-up, with bright eyes and white teeth, and her lips were alluringly vibrant.
The misty blue fitted suit highlighted her snow-white skin, shedding the youthful student look and adding a touch of mature elegance.
She looked more stunning than she had imagined.
Clara gazed at her reflection, a gentle smile lingering at her lips. In this outfit, she truly looked like the wife of the Sheffield Group’s president.
The class reunion was scheduled for seven-thirty in the evening.
For such gatherings, people usually arrived early.
Clara glanced at the time, six fifty.
It was almost time to leave.
"I should be going," she said to Sophie.
Sophie nodded, "Alright, I’ll drive you there. There’s a lengthy international video conference at headquarters today, my brother is probably still tied up."
"Okay."
As Clara stepped out the door, she saw a sleek black Koenigsegg supercar parked outside.
Silas Sheffield, looking dashing in a well-tailored misty blue suit, with broad shoulders and a slender waist, stood tall and lean by the car.
Seeing Clara come out, Silas took long strides toward her.
Clara was slightly stunned.
Wasn’t he supposed to be busy?
Silas approached and, seeing her stand there dazed, couldn’t help but chuckle softly, "What are you daydreaming about?"
Clara’s gaze was fixed on him, "You look really good in this suit."
Silas usually wore deep, cool colors, giving off a distant vibe.
When Clara was shopping that day, she immediately took a liking to this misty blue suit.
Silas had never worn anything in this color.
She wanted to see how he would look in it.
The reality was, Silas took her breath away.
Indeed, a handsome person looks good in anything.
Sophie’s red lips curved into a smile, her eyes playfully flitting between Silas and Clara, "Wow, matching outfits. It’s the first time I’ve seen my brother in this color. I must say, it looks good."
Clara’s clear and pure eyes held a gentle smile, "Wasn’t there supposed to be an international video conference? Finished already?"
"Yeah." Silas’ deep black eyes held a pampering look as he gazed at Clara, "I promised to accompany you to the reunion, can’t be late."
Sophie teased, "No wonder you have a wife."
Laughing, she then turned to Clara, "I’ll head back now, Clara."
Clara nodded, "Alright."
After Sophie left.
Silas wrapped an arm around Clara’s waist, pulling her into his embrace.
As their bodies touched, Clara blushed ear to ear.
The man’s warm lips brushed against Clara’s earlobe, his voice deep and husky, as if smoothed by gravel, "Do you really like me wearing this color?"
Clara’s face was as red as a peach blossom in March.
She softly murmured an "Mm."
Silas whispered in her ear, his voice thick with intimacy, "Then I’ll wear it for you more often, hmm?"
Clara’s face was burning, and she gently pushed him, "Let’s get going, it’s getting late."
Silas opened the passenger side door, letting Clara get in first.
Once inside, Silas leaned in close, whispering in her ear, "You look stunning today, darling."
It was the first time Silas had ever called her "darling."
Clara blushed furiously, her heart racing, her fingers instinctively clutching the fabric of her dress, her voice barely a whisper, "Just drive."
The man chuckled softly, kissed her earlobe, straightened up, and lightly pressed the accelerator.
Once they reached the hotel’s entrance, Silas stopped the car and turned to Clara, "If you get out here, you won’t have to walk too far in the parking lot."
Clara instinctively looked at her high heels and nodded, "Alright."
She opened the door and got out, "I’ll head up first, you can meet me at the banquet hall later."
"Sure."
The Koenigsegg slowly drove away.
Clara lifted her foot and walked toward the lobby.
After just a few steps, she spotted a familiar figure.
She approached to say hello, "Lynch."
Lynch Lynch turned around, her eyes filled with admiration, "Clara! You look stunning today!"
Clara smiled warmly, "You look beautiful too."
Lynch grinned, "It’s been so long, I’ve missed you dearly!"
"I’ve missed you too."
The two of them arm in arm entered the elevator.
It was just the two of them inside.
Lynch looked at her with concern, "As much as I want to see you, I wish you wouldn’t attend the reunion. Those jerks in our class are bound to give you a hard time. Can you really handle it?"
Lynch wasn’t aware that Silas was accompanying Clara today.
Clara smiled softly, "It’s alright, my husband is here."
Lynch’s eyes widened in shock, her voice rising, "Your husband? You’re really married?"
"Yes." Clara nodded.
Lynch was stunned, her mouth agape, "I can’t believe you’re actually married... Is it the husband from those online rumors?"
"No." Clara explained, "What Isaac Sutton saw was actually my husband’s driver."
Just then, the elevator doors opened.
Clara Sterling walked into the banquet hall, finding it crowded, with over half the faces unfamiliar.
Curious, she walked a few more steps inside and spotted her other two roommates.
Clara called out to them, "Sharon, Alice."
Sharon Shaw and Alice Woods looked over, their faces lighting up with joy, and came over to chat with Clara Sterling.
As the girls chatted for a bit, they heard sarcastic remarks from nearby.
"She actually dared to show up."
"Such thick skin."
"Look at what she’s wearing, wonder who she’s trying to seduce."
Lynch couldn’t take it anymore, turning to snap, "Watch your mouth! Or you’ll bite your tongue!"
The students doing the mocking rolled their eyes and turned away.
Just then, Isaac Sutton glanced over and, upon seeing Clara, his eyes lit up and he walked over quickly.
