"There’s something I lied to Clara about."

Silas Sheffield thought of something and reminded her, "Mr. Spencer will be in Veridian for the time being, to avoid accidental encounters, it’s best if you don’t go out recently."

Yvonne nodded, "Alright, I got it."

After exiting the tea room, Silas Sheffield saw Clara sitting on the sofa in the living room with her phone held to her ear listening to something.

Upon seeing Silas come out, Clara lifted her gaze to him, "My advisor sent me a few voice messages to discuss the thesis."

Silas Sheffield nodded.

Yvonne walked over and sat beside Clara.

Clara asked Yvonne playfully, "Mom, what were you talking about with Silas that you wouldn’t let me listen?"

Yvonne smiled, "I just wanted to ask Silas about how you two got the marriage certificate."

Her words weren’t entirely false.

Initially, she did ask Silas why he and Clara got the marriage certificate.

As for the rest, it wasn’t time for Clara to know.

If possible, Yvonne wished Clara would never find out her biological father was alive.
