CHAPTER 501: CHAPTER 501: I WANT TO GO SEE HER

Yara Reagan stared blankly at Evelyn Clayton for a long time before coming back to her senses.

"This sounds even more ridiculous than you telling me James Grant is your brother..." Yara said, confused, "I thought you were just saying that off the cuff!"

Evelyn Clayton smiled, "If it was just something I said casually, why would I agree to go to Harrison Grant’s birthday banquet then?"

Yara Reagan was a bit frantic, "So why exactly? Even if we want to collaborate with Harrison Grant, he may not be willing, right?!"

"In matters of collaboration, apart from willingness on both sides, it’s more important to see if the strengths match and whether they can create value for each other."

Evelyn Clayton walked to the wardrobe and took out two dresses that had been prepared. "If we have a good project, why can’t we collaborate with Atlas Group? In business, there’s no need to block your own path."

Yara Reagan was in awe.

She stared at Evelyn Clayton for a moment before finally admitting defeat, "I feel like I’m having trouble keeping up with some of your thoughts now, but since you’ve considered it thoroughly, whatever I say, I’ll definitely support you."

It wasn’t long before the two of them left, and James Grant didn’t ask much. He just glanced at Yara.

Yara Reagan looked unfriendly. After sitting on the sofa, she scrutinized James Grant with a half-smile, "Didn’t Director Grant cut ties with the Grant Family some time ago?"

James Grant took a sip of tea unhurriedly, "How does that conflict with me going back to wish the old man a happy birthday?"

Yara Reagan laughed lightly, "I just find it curious. Director Grant’s relationship with the family isn’t good now, but you seem successful in both love and career. Didn’t you go shopping with your fiancée yesterday?"

Slightly taken aback for a moment, James Grant instinctively looked at Evelyn Clayton.

Evelyn Clayton remained calm and even smiled, "We were just out buying a gift yesterday and happened to run into each other."

"I just wanted her to give some advice." James Grant’s Adam’s apple moved slightly as if he wanted to explain, but couldn’t when he met Evelyn Clayton’s calm gaze.

Yara Reagan wanted to say something more, but Evelyn Clayton stopped her by holding her hand.

She smiled and saw James Grant to the door, "Yara and I need to go back to the company for a bit, so we might not be able to accompany you."

James Grant snapped out of it, his voice slightly hoarse, "Then, I’ll drive you."

"No need." Evelyn Clayton smiled, "Let’s meet tonight."

James Grant understood the subtle hint and left without insisting further.

Evelyn Clayton held a cup of hot tea, pacing to the window, and saw James Grant leave the building, heading towards his parked car.

She took a sip of tea, a fleeting shadow passing through her eyes.

"I feel there’s something strange about the atmosphere between you two, but I can’t quite pinpoint it." Yara Reagan muttered beside her, "Looks like we have no choice but to go tonight. Should we eat something first? I feel like I won’t be able to eat much at Harrison Grant’s banquet."

Evelyn Clayton didn’t answer immediately, so Yara asked again.

She snapped back to reality, and a moment later, the gloom in her eyes was completely gone. "Let’s eat something; I’m open to anything."

Yara Reagan began to browse a food delivery app, while Evelyn Clayton, thinking of something, quietly walked to the bathroom alone.

She found Phillip Owens’s previous call and dialed it back.

The call was answered quickly.

"Miss Clayton, what can I do for you?"

"Officer Owens, could you please give me the address of Lars Alden’s family? I plan to visit them in a few days."
