The day of the Gem new clothing launch arrived in the blink of an eye.

Once the promotional news was released, it drew significant attention from many people.

At the press conference site, Yara Reagan held her phone in the backstage, showing Evelyn Clayton the comments under the promotional news.

"The comments have already surpassed ten thousand, and it’s only been ten minutes since it was posted." Yara didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, "After this launch, we should be one of the first fashion design companies in the industry to receive this much attention."

Evelyn scanned over it; most comments were discussing the previous Lucy Carter incident, only a few were supportive, the content wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either.

"It’s pretty good, at least we achieved one of our objectives: drawing attention," Evelyn reassured Yara, "Inform Rhys Jacobs to start normally, I won’t make an appearance this time, let’s focus on completing the launch smoothly."

Half an hour later, the launch officially commenced.

Evelyn watched from the backstage, the lights around the runway turned dark on the big screen, and moments later, music began to play as models stepped out gracefully according to the cue.

Nadia Archer’s opening was incredibly stable, the outfit she wore was also Gem’s seasonal highlight, garnering considerable media attention with flashes going off incessantly.

It would be a lie to say she wasn’t nervous; Evelyn’s gaze hardly left the screen.

As the music played to the end, all thirty-some models had shown up, with Nadia Archer making another grand final appearance.

A thunderous applause erupted from the audience.

The breath Evelyn was holding finally eased.

The matter that had worried her for months had finally ended successfully.

Coming out from backstage, she immediately bumped into Yara and Rhys, both wearing smiles on their faces.

"It went relatively smoothly; the primary job now will be with the publicity department and the factory, we just need to wait for the clothes to officially go online."

Yara happily took out her phone, just about to inform Old Wang to lead the staff in tidying up the site, when her expression suddenly changed.

Evelyn noticed and her heart tightened, "What’s wrong?"

Yara’s face turned ashen almost instantly, her hands trembling slightly as she handed the phone to Evelyn, "Look, is this Julia Lawrence?"

The phone screen displayed a news interface, with the latest social news being about someone jumping to their death from the rooftop of the building where the Gem office was located.

Although part of the video was blurred out, the figure on the ground still made Evelyn’s scalp tingle.

Without another word, she turned and started to leave, "Yara, you stay behind to clean up the site, Rhys, come with me!"

Outside the launch site, Evelyn and Rhys got into a car and rushed to the company’s vicinity.

Immediately upon arrival, they saw that traffic was jammed up ahead, with fire trucks faintly visible and the sound of ambulances audible.

Evelyn’s hands were trembling, she simply got out of the car and sprinted toward the company entrance.

Rhys had no time to stop her and could only turn the steering wheel to head onto a nearby side road.

Meanwhile, Evelyn ran all the way to the company building entrance, where a huge crowd had already gathered, all looking toward the building top.

Occasional murmurs drifted into her ears.

"What a tragedy... why jump from here?"

"I heard it was an employee from a company in this building."

"Seems like it was a young girl?"

"Yes... I wonder what drove her to it, didn’t you see? She fell so badly she’s unrecognizable..."
