Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 543: Long Time No See
CHAPTER 543: CHAPTER 543: LONG TIME NO SEE
When Yara Reagan and Rhys Jacobs rushed down, they happened to hear Evelyn Clayton’s final words.
Both inhaled sharply, quickly moving forward to push through the crowd and squeeze inside.
Rhys Jacobs swiftly rescued Evelyn Clayton from the throng of reporters and media, then turned around to wave off those gathered, politely declining further interviews.
Back at the company, Yara Reagan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Looking at Evelyn Clayton’s calm and composed face, Yara Reagan sighed, "There was really no need to say those things to them... That kind of media, who knows how they’ll distort your words."
"With so many people today, someone will surely record the entire thing." Evelyn Clayton was indifferent, "Let’s see who takes it out of context then."
Yara Reagan remained worried, "Public opinion online will always ferment, what should we do? We can’t just sit back and do nothing."
Just then, Evelyn Clayton’s phone rang.
It was Summer Monroe calling.
Evelyn Clayton let out a derisive laugh and answered the call.
On the other end, Summer Monroe’s voice sounded muffled, with a hint of anger and some suppressed frustration, "I found the person! If you come to me now, you can see them!"
"Summer, was I not clear enough that day?" Evelyn Clayton’s voice was icy, "I said to send the person to me, do you understand?"
Summer Monroe’s breathing grew heavier, then she let out a cold snort, "There’re media outlets all over the Gem entrance right now, right? Are you sure you want me to send them to you?"
Evelyn Clayton unhurriedly let out a cold laugh, "You’re well-informed, huh, so, did you call those people there?"
Summer Monroe cursed irritably, "Evelyn Clayton, don’t you slander me! Since I’ve agreed to find Soren Foster for you, why would I send people over?! Even if you’re framing someone, there should be a limit!"
After speaking, not hearing Evelyn Clayton respond for a while, Summer Monroe held back her frustration and said, "Can I send the person to the back door of your company?"
Evelyn Clayton didn’t respond and directly hung up.
"Did they find Soren Foster?" Yara Reagan’s eyes widened, "Bringing them to the company now, wouldn’t it be bad if those reporters saw?"
"The one dating Julia Lawrence is him, not anyone from our Gem." Evelyn Clayton let out a derisive laugh, "What’s bad about it?"
After speaking, Evelyn Clayton leisurely glanced at the wall clock, "Now we just wait, wait until I see Soren Foster and find out... some things."
In less than half an hour, a message came from Summer Monroe’s side.
Evelyn Clayton glanced at her phone, then looked at Rhys Jacobs, "Go take a look, bring the person over."
She was now extremely noticeable and really couldn’t make an appearance.
Rhys Jacobs responded and went out, Evelyn Clayton noticed Yara Reagan’s gaze from the side, inevitably looking over, "What’s up?"
Yara Reagan was fiddling with her phone, her brow furrowed tightly, "It’s been two days since this happened, why haven’t Sister Violet and Director Ford over there made any moves or said anything..."
"This matter isn’t too big or too small, involving a life, for them to come forward would be a very unwise choice." Evelyn Clayton’s voice was cold, her beautiful face showing a hint of a self-mocking smile, "If we fall this time, them staying out of it now is the best preparation."
Yara Reagan was silent for a moment.
Before long, Rhys Jacobs returned with the person.
The visitor, in a hoodie and baseball cap, had a tall, slender figure, sunglasses covering most of their face, with tight-pressed lips that looked quite pale.
Evelyn Clayton sat behind the desk, looked at him steadily for a while, and spoke softly.
"Mr. Foster, long time no see."
