Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 544: No Going Back
CHAPTER 544: CHAPTER 544: NO GOING BACK
No idea how long it had been, Soren Foster took off his sunglasses, his once bright eyes coldly fixing on Evelyn Clayton.
Evelyn met his gaze, a mocking smile curling her lips, "What, Mr. Foster not happy?"
"What are you up to?" Soren’s voice was slightly hoarse, sounding somewhat harsh, "Threatening Summer to send me here—"
Upon hearing this, Evelyn let out a chuckle, "Threaten? I didn’t threaten Summer with anything. I merely laid out the pros and cons for her, letting her make the choice herself. Do you really think, with my current capabilities, I could possibly threaten her?"
Soren’s face turned even paler.
A faint smile flickered in Evelyn’s eyes, then she raised her hand coolly, "Mr. Foster, have a seat, let’s have a chat."
After a moment’s hesitation, Soren slowly sat across from Evelyn.
"I heard Julia mention you, we used to meet at many occasions— I know your relationship with Summer is not ordinary." Evelyn stood up to pour him water, her tone calm and indifferent, like chatting with a casual friend, "This time, it doesn’t have much to do with Summer, but it has quite a lot to do with you."
Saying that, Evelyn placed the glass of water in front of Soren, her clear eyes clouded over slightly, "Tell me, if I were to reveal everything about what Lucy did online, would your precious Summer be able to stay unscathed?"
Soren clenched his teeth, a flicker of viciousness in his eyes, "You say you’re not threatening her?"
"Mind your words." Evelyn’s brow arched, her expression mocking yet icy, "Right now, the bargaining chips are more on my side. Soren, you’re just a discard piece!"
The words ’discard piece’ stabbed into Soren’s heart like a dagger, making him wish for nothing but pain.
"You, you’re sowing discord." Soren maintained the last bit of his reason, but the redness at the corners of his eyes betrayed him.
Evelyn sneered, "Am I? Whether I’m sowing discord, you know very well in your heart. If you weren’t a discard, you wouldn’t be here today."
Soren’s hand on his knee tightened slightly, the joints starting to turn white.
After a long pause, Evelyn continued, "Soren, in my heart I always felt that Julia’s death has nothing to do with you."
Soren’s pupils constricted, abruptly raising his eyes to look at Evelyn, "Then why..."
"When I say nothing, I mean you wouldn’t be bold enough to kill her and then fake it as a suicide." Evelyn’s gaze was icy, "I still believe that one reason for Julia’s suicide was your deception and betrayal."
As her words fell, Evelyn saw the pain and conflict flickering in Soren’s eyes.
She squinted slightly, "I just want to hear a truthful word from you, once you confess, you can go back immediately."
If Julia’s death was really murder, the police wouldn’t sit idle, they would have found clues by now.
The fact there’s been no news these past two days can only mean Julia truly committed suicide.
Seeing Soren doesn’t really change anything.
Julia is already dead.
What she wants is to truly hold something over Summer.
And to find the person behind her who has been protecting her all this time.
Soren would be a good point of breakthrough.
"I can’t go back." Soren’s voice was dry, "From the moment I came to you, she’ll never let me... go back to her side."
