Flirted Wrong, Married Right
Chapter 550: A Healthy Heart
CHAPTER 550: CHAPTER 550: A HEALTHY HEART
At this point, Violet Ford couldn’t hold back, "What are you talking about?"
Evelyn Clayton saw the curious look on her face and decided to cut to the chase, letting the smile fade from her face as her eyes turned serious.
"What I’m about to say is closely related to the ownership issue of The Ford Group, and I hope that both Violet and Director Ford will keep it to yourselves. Apart from the three of us, no one else should know."
Violet’s pupils quivered.
She could see the seriousness in Evelyn’s expression, and she couldn’t help but feel apprehensive inside.
She gazed deeply at the young woman in front of her, her emotions mixed.
Truth be told, she admired Evelyn a lot and even wanted her to become her sister-in-law, to become part of the family.
Because, from both a rational and an emotional perspective, Evelyn was very suitable as the next daughter-in-law of the Ford Family.
But Evelyn’s "lack of appreciation" made her a bit annoyed, yet rationality told Violet that she couldn’t force an independent-minded and outstanding woman for the sake of the Ford Family.
No, it should be said that no woman should be forced by her.
Yet, Violet was unwilling, because although the Ford Family hadn’t reached a dead end, Summer Monroe’s presence and that will had almost completely blocked her and Franklin Ford’s path.
The Ford Group holds the Ford name, but for how much longer can it stay a Ford?
When Summer recovers and changes the Ford Group’s surname, what will she and Franklin do?
Facing Evelyn’s resilient and persistent gaze, a voice in Violet’s heart clamored—
Trust her.
After a long while, Violet seemed to have made up her mind, "Go ahead! Franklin and I will absolutely not tell a third person."
Evelyn looked at Franklin, waiting for him to personally promise.
Franklin set down his teacup, his gaze intense, "Director Clayton, you know I’ve always given you unconditional trust. I can’t speak for other matters, but as long as it involves working with you and ensuring our mutual interests, I will never betray."
"Alright." Evelyn’s lips trembled almost imperceptibly, "What I’m about to say is related to my father’s death."
Over the next half hour, Evelyn carefully detailed how her father died back then, how she became Harrison Grant’s "private blood bank," and how she discovered that her blood donations had ended up with Summer Monroe.
Her words were clear and systematic, her attitude objective.
Franklin knew some of these things, but it was his first time hearing about Evelyn losing her father, hence his eyes were filled with shock.
Violet was even more stunned.
She had always thought that Evelyn had a perfectly happy and beautiful childhood, which had propelled her to go so far on her own.
But the reality was quite the opposite.
Evelyn was like a seed struggling out of the mire, always chasing the sunlight that never graced her.
"...That’s roughly the story of the grudges between Summer and me."
At this point, Evelyn’s expression remained indifferent, as if she were talking about someone unrelated to herself.
Seeing the speechless and choking expressions on the Ford siblings’ faces, Evelyn let out a faint laugh, "So, now do you understand why I said this matter is closely connected to the ownership of the Ford Family? As long as the person behind Summer is there, Summer can never be brought down, and she will never return the Ford Family to you."
Violet swallowed.
The shock left her throat dry, and she took a sip from her teacup.
After a long while, Violet slowly said, "I understand what you mean. Through various events, including the special relationship between Harrison Grant and Summer Monroe, and how your blood donations over the years ended up with Summer, you have deduced that your father’s death was ultimately for Summer to get a healthy heart?"
