CHAPTER 58: CHAPTER 58: EARNING THEIR CONVICTION

"So, you need to collaborate with me. I’m the person who can help you make money without you having to worry about understanding art," Evelyn Clayton raised an eyebrow.

Matthew Sullivan quickly chimed in, "Exactly, I know Evelyn best. She’s always been very diligent. Collaborating with her won’t be a loss for us."

"Of course you’d say that. Who doesn’t know what your relationship with her is?"

Matthew Sullivan enjoyed hearing this, so he wasn’t in a hurry to refute.

Evelyn Clayton had already anticipated their remarks and handed her USB drive to Harrison Grant’s secretary.

After the secretary opened it, it revealed Evelyn Clayton’s résumé, covering all the projects she’s been involved in over the years.

Her résumé was impressive, having earned almost all the notable awards.

Although her studio was just starting, it had collaborations with numerous companies.

"If there’s someone with a résumé better than mine, I’m willing to step aside."

James Grant coughed slightly, "It seems there isn’t."

Although the shareholders didn’t approve, the Grant Family holds the majority of The Grant Group’s shares, giving them absolute decision-making power over the company. They were dissatisfied but unable to say anything.

They were just waiting for mistakes in the work to emerge, allowing them to reject these two appointments logically.

After the meeting ended, Harrison Grant personally instructed the secretary to rearrange the general manager’s office to suit "Director Sullivan’s" tastes.

"Evelyn, I’ve initiated things for you, but how you’ll convince them is up to you now."

"Thank you, Uncle Grant."

Evelyn Clayton politely expressed her gratitude to Harrison Grant, despite him doing nothing during the shareholder meeting besides introducing her.

Iris Lockwood saw Evelyn Clayton speaking to Harrison Grant and immediately approached to greet them.

"Uncle Grant, hello. I’m Evelyn’s sister, Iris Lockwood, and also Marcus’s girlfriend. We met last time. I was planning to formally visit you once more, but I didn’t expect to run into you here."

Upon hearing this, Harrison Grant’s face darkened considerably.

"Ms. Lockwood, Marcus and Evelyn’s engagement hasn’t been called off yet, so openly claiming you’re Marcus’s girlfriend isn’t appropriate, is it? Besides, Marcus hasn’t mentioned this to me."

Denying Iris Lockwood’s girlfriend status right in front of her, she felt awkward, her face turning red as she said, "Uncle Grant, Marcus was just having a spat with me, so he didn’t tell you."

"Marcus will explain these matters to me."

"Very well," Iris Lockwood nodded reluctantly, "I’ll be working with Evelyn on collaboration with The Grant Group; I ask for your guidance, Uncle Grant."

Harrison Grant looked at Evelyn Clayton, inquiring with his eyes.

Evelyn Clayton nodded, "She at least counts as someone known to me, and she has her strengths."

"Right. Uncle Grant, just watch my performance," Iris Lockwood didn’t care about much else, only boasting about her abilities.

Even if her work doesn’t turn out well in the future, if Harrison Grant faults her, she could rely on Evelyn Clayton.

Seeing that Iris Lockwood had made her decision, Harrison Grant didn’t say anything else.

"Keep an eye on her. Ensure minimal interaction with Marcus; work is important, and so is sentiment."

Evelyn Clayton just nodded in agreement. As long as Iris Lockwood continues to work at The Grant Group, everything else can be addressed later.

Being only a collaborator, Evelyn Clayton doesn’t have an exclusive office at The Grant Group.

Whenever work requires it, she uses The Grant Group’s communal office.

Matthew Sullivan enthusiastically invited Evelyn Clayton to sit in his general manager’s office.

Evelyn Clayton used the excuse of needing to use the washroom, letting Iris Lockwood go first.

Upon hearing this, Matthew Sullivan’s expression changed; not wanting to be alone with Iris Lockwood, he couldn’t hold Evelyn’s hand, merely watching her leave.

Wherever Evelyn Clayton went, people greeted her.

Not only because she was the newly appointed artistic director, but also due to her rumored relationships with two of the company’s top executives.

Evelyn Clayton couldn’t bear those curious glances, so she hid in the fire escape to find some peace.

Unexpectedly, just as she pushed open the door, she bumped right into someone.
