CHAPTER 165: 117. ARREST IN THE BUSY MARKET_3
It’s possible they don’t even have the power to issue a weapon to each ordinary follower, let alone provide a lot of bullets for shooting practice.
The vast majority of followers are just brainwashed ordinary people and could never be opponents of the troops he’s trained.
So Chen Che was quite confident about the safety of Johnny and the others.
This was purely a training exercise.
An actual real-world battle.
Whether it was Johnny, Chana, or Lillian, every team leader felt a thrill deep in their veins.
Chen Che had promised them that whoever completed the task this time would receive a reward!
Chana remembered last time’s seafood feast, licked her lips, her eyes sparkling.
She immediately led her team to take positions.
On Angduo’s side, they immediately received intel and discovered many Wildfire Gang members.
Their actions were surprising to some observant agents in the Special Operations Department, who immediately reported to Angduo.
These Wildfire Gang members didn’t seem like the usual gang members... They were organized, with well-equipped weapons, and even seemed to wear body armor.
Angduo was momentarily stunned, then immediately thought of Chen Che’s remark about sending in his people.
He immediately inquired with Chen Che whether these Wildfire Gang members were his and got a confirming answer, which surprised him.
After the Moore incident, he had done a brief investigation on Chen Che and knew that the Wildfire Gang had once attacked Chen Che, almost killing him.
The team leaders back then all had no good impressions of Chen Che; he even lamented that the gang was useless for failing to kill even a pretty boy.
But how long has it been, a month or two? Chen Che has already subdued the Wildfire Gang under his command?
It was known that the Wildfire Gang used to take orders from the Tasting Commerce Association.
This guy is probably the Tasting Commerce Association’s nemesis.
He caused the death of a manager from Tasting Commerce Association and even took in their subordinates... It’s really... indescribable.
Angduo commanded his men to let Johnny and the others pass and continued to monitor the entire gathering situation.
After a ten-minute observation, Kainan’s voice came over the intercom.
"There’s movement! A large number of followers are gathering at the southeast corner of the meeting place, those two Yellow-robed Priests might have arrived, there’s a sewer entrance there..."
Angduo immediately looked over in the direction Kainan indicated.
He saw many unfamiliar followers converging towards one spot, their bodies huddled together, seemingly watching a store, but actually shielding something with their bodies.
There was a sewer cover at the edge.
Under Chinese observation, he could see the cover being lifted as people gradually emerged from the sewer.
The Peru Market was already noisy, with hardly anyone paying attention to this, coupled with the followers’ obstruction, few noticed people emerging from the sewer.
Even some vendors in a hurry would pretend not to see; in this wasteland, it was best to mind one’s own business to live longer.
Who was coming out was none of their business.
"Someone’s coming out... but they don’t seem to be the two Yellow-robed Priests we’re looking for..."
After a round of observation, Angduo concluded there didn’t seem to be any aura of the Yellow-robed Priests among the emerging people.
Upon hearing this, Chen Che furrowed his brows, observed through binoculars, and agreed they didn’t look like Yellow-robed Priests.
But in the next second, as more and more people emerged from the sewer, at last, two figures in long robes appeared, shrouded in black cloaks with yellow patterns visible on them.
"I see their different attire, they most likely are the Yellow-robed Priests! Get ready to act!"
"Something’s off," Angduo remarked again, "It could be a distraction, why would they wear conspicuous priest attire?"
"Then what do we do now? Just let them leave?"
Chen Che also felt something was wrong, thought for a moment, then said, "Get ready to act; you handle the action, and I’ll keep an eye on the overall situation. We can’t let them escape."
After hearing Chen Che’s words, the two team leaders didn’t hesitate much and gave the order to act.
The personnel from the Special Operations Department began to converge below.
They approached where the Yellow-robed Priests were located.
Chen Che, however, remained on the high platform, observing the situation below. Xia Na was itching to go down and join the capture operation, but after hesitating, she stayed by Chen Che to safeguard this guy’s safety.
She hadn’t forgotten her duty—putting Chen Che first.
Chen Che gazed at the situation below, sighed, knowing chaos was about to erupt. In such a crowded and noisy place known worldwide, the police would never be able to launch a capture operation.
If criminals fired indiscriminately, the innocent would be hurt. The criminals would be let go to remote areas, possibly losing many opportunities, but in the civilized world, they must prioritize ordinary people’s lives.
Otherwise, even if the criminals were caught, if too many ordinary people died, there could be repercussions up and down.
But this was above the apocalypse; none of the rules were imaginable by the renowned world.
Even though there were innocent vendors and pedestrians below.
The Special Operations Department wouldn’t spare them; they would act when necessary. If innocent civilians were accidentally injured, it would just be their bad luck.
The only thing these civilians could do was run as far as possible when the gunfire rang out; if they couldn’t escape, they were just unlucky.
After all, there wouldn’t be many chances to make a second attempt.
Every opportunity is fleeting.
Post-apocalypse, there aren’t many resources, or much human kindness.
Only bloodshed and violence.
When the personnel from the Special Operations Department completely encircled that moment.
War began!
