But the Battle Wolves had a long-standing tradition, a rule passed down from their king: during the Eclipse, they were to hide in their dens and not, under any circumstances, venture outside, no matter how intoxicating the aroma became.

It was the Wolf King's command. So, though they desperately wanted to taste the source of that incredible smell, they would not disobey their king.

The moment Yuuki finished speaking and Guinness agreed, the earth finally shattered. A massive, spherical object shot out from the ground.

In the next second, it flew into the air, and they could finally see it clearly. It was a giant tadpole.

But its form was unique. It looked like a planet, surrounded by a ring of what appeared to be small asteroids.

After the first tadpole, countless more erupted from the ground, swarming into the sky.

In the original story, when GOD matured, there was only one tadpole, and it was a fraction of this size. That was why Jiji had been so shocked in the original story.

This GOD was on a completely different level.

The countless tadpoles flew into the sky, then descended, merging into one another. Scales began to form, and as more and more tadpoles joined, a strange-looking frog finally appeared.

This frog was this era's GOD, the only one to have ever reached full maturity. The previous ones had all been in their tadpole form—mere infants.

But the Wolf King was a veteran of countless battles. So, facing GOD's sudden onslaught, Guinness could still fight back, not being one-shotted.

GOD's weapon was its tongue, a bit like Midora's.

Its tongue kept lashing out at Guinness. Any attack he could dodge, he dodged. If he couldn't, he met it head-on.

For a while, even though GOD clearly dominated Guinness, actually putting him down for good proved harder than expected.

And as the fight dragged on, Guinness noticed something: his opponent's attack speed was dropping—and it kept getting slower.

At first, dodging its attacks had been nearly impossible. But with the reduced speed, it was now much easier. GOD's attacks used to connect regularly, but now not a single one was landing.

Guinness knew its own situation.

It wasn't that it had gotten stronger in battle, but that its opponent had gotten weaker.

After a while, GOD completely stopped moving. Because Yuuki's preparation had reached a critical stage. The creature was now completely harmless.
