CHAPTER 219: CHAPTER 232 THE SHIELD IS NOT SO EASY TO BE

"Instructor Mu, the woman your family is pressuring you to marry isn’t the sister we met the other day, right?" She remembered that Lin Ruonan had said they were supposed to get engaged during the Spring Festival.

Mu Xingfeng was stunned for a moment. He wasn’t entirely sure who An Ran was referring to but then remembered that she and Lin Ruonan had probably met at the café. So, he nodded.

An Ran blinked at him vigorously, looking utterly confused, "Instructor Mu, that sister is so beautiful, you don’t like her?"

"I don’t like her," Mu Xingfeng replied without hesitation.

"Why not?"

In An Ran’s eyes, Lin Ruonan was practically the perfect goddess—whether it was her figure, temperament, or face, she was flawless. Instructor Mu actually rejected such a woman, so what kind of woman could catch his eye?

Mu Xingfeng gave An Ran a deep look. His intense eyes carried a hint of sharpness, but also seemed to be suppressing something, which took An Ran by surprise, and she quickly looked away.

Just as she thought Mu Xingfeng wouldn’t answer the question, she heard his low and clear voice, "Not liking means not liking."

An Ran sensed Mu Xingfeng’s aura drop a few notches and didn’t dare to ask anything more. She turned her head to look outside the helicopter, genuinely feeling that she was making trouble as a decoy. What a fine couple, so well-matched, was being split apart because of her.

Seeing the helicopter heading toward the Military General Hospital, Mu Xingfeng picked up the helicopter’s intercom and said, "Head to the Mu Family."

"Second Brother, your injury..."

"It’s fine, let’s go back to the Mu Family."

Chen Yankun’s words were cut off by Mu Xingfeng. Understanding Mu Xingfeng’s stubborn nature, Chen Yankun knew that once he made a decision, nobody could change it. So, he flew the helicopter directly to the old Mu Family mansion.

The helicopter landed steadily on the lawn of the garden at the Mu Family’s old mansion. Hearing the commotion, Mu Wanxin and He Yushu approached with the servants.

As soon as He Yushu saw the man jump from the helicopter, she jogged over and slapped Mu Xingfeng on the shoulder, "You child, how could you sneak out of the hospital without saying a word? Do you know how worried we were? When we got the call from the hospital, your sister informed your dad, and we were just about to head there."

"Mom, I’m fine now. Don’t worry. I’m bringing someone home for you." He turned and gestured for An Ran to come over. "Come here."

He Yushu hadn’t noticed the delicate young girl behind Mu Xingfeng until then.

The girl was tall, wearing a plain black long down jacket, making her small face appear exceptionally pale. She had delicate features, especially those eyes, brimming with a watery brilliance, filled with a sense of vitality.

"Who is this?" He Yushu found the young girl somewhat familiar but couldn’t recall where she had seen her before. What baffled her even more was when did her son start interacting with a young girl? In her mind, her son was practically resistant to women, except for that girl Ruonan, there had never been another woman around him.

An Ran felt the somewhat distant and unfamiliar gaze of He Yushu and thought to herself: I knew being a decoy wouldn’t be easy. As expected, Instructor Mu’s family doesn’t even know I exist. He really grabbed me on the spot.

Despite her thoughts, she had no choice but to brace herself and carry on—it was her debt, after all.

"Good day, Auntie, I’m An Ran," she stepped forward and introduced herself gracefully, even though her hands were tightly clasped together.
