Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself
Chapter 623 - 636: What is Conscience?
CHAPTER 623: CHAPTER 636: WHAT IS CONSCIENCE?
That day, when she saw Mu Xingfeng’s wound, she suddenly changed her mind.
Mu Xingfeng had said that he wanted her to study surgery. At that time, she didn’t understand his intention. But now, seeing the numerous scars on his body, she suddenly wanted to choose surgery.
Today is the last day to decide on a major. She desperately wants to hear Mu Xingfeng’s opinion one more time.
But after sending the message, there was still no reply.
An Zai sighed, threw the phone on the bed, and started folding the quilt.
"What? Instructor Mu still hasn’t replied to your message?" Xiao Xiao climbed down from the upper bunk. Seeing An Ran’s dejected look after throwing her phone, she knew An Ran still hadn’t gotten in touch with Instructor Mu.
She remembered that back in high school, when An Ran was filling out her college applications, she made the decisions by herself, and got it done within minutes.
Who would have thought that now selecting a major would make her so indecisive? Even more surprising was that someone determined to study internal medicine now wanted to switch to surgery.
One has to admit, love changes so many things.
An Ran nodded. Seeing that only the two of them were left in the room, she started to complain.
"Three days, it’s been three days," An Ran stuck out three fingers and waved them in front of her eyes. "He said he’d reply when he had time, but it’s been three days with no response. I’ll give him two more hours. If he still doesn’t reply, I’m going to study internal medicine."
An Ran was so angry that her cheeks puffed up. Xiao Xiao, amused, poked her chubby little face. "I remember you already gave him half a day yesterday. How come it’s extended by two more hours?"
Last night, An Ran had already ranted, saying she’d give Mu Xingfeng half a day. If there was no response, she’d go for internal medicine.
Yet, this morning, the phone stayed silent, and she compromised with two more hours.
Being exposed so blatantly by Xiao Xiao, An Ran rolled her eyes at her, picked up a book, and stormed out. "This time I’m serious. If he doesn’t reply to me, I’m really going to study internal medicine."
Xiao Xiao sighed deeply and followed An Ran out the door. "I hope Instructor Mu doesn’t reply. I actually quite like internal medicine. Surgery is just too gory."
Initially, the two of them had agreed that they would choose the same major so that they could be together no matter if they were studying or working, and look out for each other.
"Xiao Xiao, won’t your conscience hurt when you say things like that?" An Ran stopped, looking at Xiao Xiao.
Xiao Xiao blinked her big eyes at An Ran, with a look that clearly said: What is conscience?
An Ran was exasperated and turned away, feeling a heavy blow to her heart.
Xiao Xiao giggled and chased after her. "Ranran, I think Instructor Mu might not have his phone with him because of the outdoor training. You know, it’s a boot camp. They say they’ll be out there for three to five days and have to handle all sorts of emergencies. How could he reply to your message during that time?"
An Ran halted again, her eyes filled with mockery. "Xiao Xiao, how do you know about Instructor Mu’s training?"
She had never told Xiao Xiao about what Mu Xingfeng did in the Guard Team, nor did she know the specifics of his boot camp training.
That day, Mu Xingfeng only told her it was outdoor training and he might not be able to get back to her in time. So where did Xiao Xiao get all this information? The answer was obvious.
"Uh..." Xiao Xiao awkwardly touched the tip of her nose, feeling guilty as she glanced at An Ran. "It’s Lin Junyang. He told me he was worried if I messaged him and he didn’t reply, that I might find him at the Guard Team and embarrass him. So he gave me a heads-up that he had boot camp this week and wouldn’t be able to reply."
