CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER 50: HIS GENUINE HEARTACHE

Aiden Fordham strode over to her, reached out, and gently pressed her head against himself.

Allowing her to lean against his waist and abdomen.

He could clearly feel her whole body trembling uncontrollably due to the intense pain.

Slight, yet continuous. Sweat had soaked her hair, sticking it to her pale cheeks, but she didn’t make a sound from start to finish.

Only her increasingly rapid breath and deepening teeth marks.

The blood from her lower lip trickled down from the corner of her mouth, leaving a trail.

Tears pooled in her eyes, stubbornly swirling within, refusing to fall.

This scene pained Aiden Fordham more than any scream or cry could.

He felt as if countless needles were simultaneously piercing through his heart, a dense and intricate pain.

He could only hug her head more firmly, offering her a bit of support with his body warmth.

How could the woman he once loved endure such suffering?

He would not let a single person who hurt her go.

Absolutely!

He hated himself; if he hadn’t let Melody Jewel go, she wouldn’t be suffering this undeserved disaster.

At this moment, his self-blame felt like a poisonous whip laced with salt, endlessly whipping, whipping...

Who knows how long it took, but finally the wound was stitched up, and the doctor let out a breath of relief, yet Stella Grant had already passed out.

Aiden Fordham swiftly carried her to the bed, his eyes filled with red veins.

The doctor hurriedly sent her for further examinations.

.....

As dawn broke, Stella Grant suddenly woke up, her head no longer as dizzy.

But she felt intense pain in her left arm, a throbbing ache in her right ankle, which was now bandaged.

Aiden Fordham was sleeping leaning against the bedside, supporting his head with one hand, his large hand tightly holding her small one.

She recalled everything she had experienced last night, still feeling a lingering fear.

If Aiden Fordham hadn’t found her in time, she couldn’t imagine what kind of abuse she would have suffered from that pervert!

Yet, if Aiden Fordham hadn’t let Melody Jewel go, she wouldn’t have suffered like this.

Thinking of this, the fear in her eyes turned cold.

She withdrew her hand, and with just that movement, Aiden Fordham opened his eyes.

"You’re awake, do you feel uncomfortable? Should I call the doctor?"

His tone was gentle, light!

Stella Grant coldly turned her head, "I’m fine, you can leave."

"I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have acted so rashly and let that... Melody Jewel go, it’s all my fault, I’ve already sent people to track her down."

Aiden Fordham immediately apologized.

Stella Grant said nothing, simply not wanting to respond to him.

"If I knew she caused you to lose the child... I would definitely tear her to pieces!"

Aiden Fordham’s voice was filled with anger.

Upon hearing him mention the child!

Stella Grant finally turned to look at him; he knew!

But... too late! No matter what he does now, it’s too late!

"I don’t think I have the right to give birth to a successor for the Fordham Family, maybe everything is fate!"

Indeed, she and he should have ended long ago.

She mocked herself, laughing at her own naivety! Perhaps, she shouldn’t have returned to the country back then nor married into the Fordham Family!

No matter how strong she pretended to be, deep down, the pain was densely packed!

"Leave, I don’t want to see you!" Stella Grant closed her eyes, not wanting to look at him anymore.

"Leave." Her voice was light but carried an undeniable command.

Aiden Fordham stiffened briefly.

He silently watched her tightly closed eyes, pale cheeks, wanting to reach out to touch her but fearing she’d become even more disgusted.

"I asked the doctor."

He opened his mouth with difficulty, trying to find a topic that might slightly calm her emotions.

"The doctor said that as long as you recuperate well, after your body recovers, in the future... there will be more children."

Stella Grant suddenly opened her eyes, looking at Aiden Fordham, as if witnessing a huge joke.

A cold smile curved at her lips, a brief harsh chuckle.

"Yes, I will have more children in the future." She looked into Aiden Fordham’s eyes, word by word, crystal clear.

"But certainly not yours, Aiden Fordham’s."

Those words, like the sharpest knife, precisely pierced through Aiden Fordham’s heart.

The color drained from his face instantly.

Seeing the unmistakable resolve and hatred in her eyes, he felt an overwhelming unease.

Aiden Fordham’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, opening with effort.

"It’s okay."

He tried to make his voice sound calm.

"As long as you’re happy, I... I won’t be hoping for your forgiveness."

Stella Grant merely looked at him coldly.

Happy?

How could she possibly be happy?

Her child was gone, her body was broken, and the source of all this pain stood before her, feigning compassion.

"Aiden Fordham, I don’t want to see you right now. Your presence here only disgusts me."

Each word was like a needle dipped in poison, stabbing into Aiden Fordham.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say something.

"Knock knock—"

A knock on the door sounded.

Keegan Lindsey pushed open the door and walked in, first glancing at Stella Grant in bed, showing some relief.

"Madam, you finally woke up."

"President Fordham was worried sick yesterday and watched over you all night."

He said some polite words, trying to ease the heavy atmosphere in the hospital room.

Aiden Fordham, however, didn’t pay attention to these words and directly asked Keegan Lindsey, "Where is she? Was she caught?"

Keegan Lindsey’s expression became somewhat complex.

He looked at Stella Grant, then at Aiden Fordham, hesitated.

Seeing his demeanor, Aiden Fordham had a bad premonition, he asked no more and turned to walk out of the hospital room.

Keegan Lindsey quickly followed.

The two walked out of the room one after the other, Keegan Lindsey lowered his voice and quickly reported:

"President Fordham, yesterday that kidnapper... he escaped by jumping into the water."

"Our people searched for a long time, and when we found him, he was already... drowned."

Aiden Fordham kept walking; it’s good he died, spared dirtying his hands.

Keegan Lindsey continued, "However, we managed to grab a [camera] at the scene."

Aiden Fordham stopped his footsteps.

A camera? What’s captured inside?

Keegan Lindsey added another sentence, his tone even more serious.

"Furthermore... about Melody Jewel, our people were a step late; Andy Lockwood’s men took her away first, she’s on her way back to town now."

Andy Lockwood!

Aiden Fordham’s gaze darkened.

Melody Jewel falling into Andy Lockwood’s hands is definitely not a good thing; Andy Lockwood will certainly find ways to extract information from her, maybe even... use her to win Stella Grant’s sympathy.

"Where is he?"

Keegan Lindsey quickly replied, "We’ve already ensured confidentiality, but he still found out you rescued Madam. He’s on his way!"

Aiden Fordham’s eyes deepened, wanting to snatch people from him? Too naive!

"Prepare the helicopter."

Aiden Fordham ordered Keegan Lindsey, his voice cold and hard, "I want to take her back to Coldstream Manor to recuperate, to keep this confidential."

Keegan Lindsey hesitated briefly before reacting: "Yes, President Fordham."

He immediately took out his phone to make arrangements.

Aiden Fordham felt irritable, then turned to go out for a smoke.

Keegan Lindsey saw that the two seemed incompatible, and if this continued, the newly sparked flame would extinguish again.

He turned and walked toward the hospital area.

He knocked and entered the hospital room, Stella Grant leaned against the door, merely coldly throwing out a sentence.

"Aiden Fordham, I told you I don’t want to see you!"

"Madam!" Keegan Lindsey called softly.

Stella Grant turned her head, seeing it was Keegan Lindsey, her anger lessened, and she spoke, "Did he send you?"

Keegan Lindsey stepped forward a few paces, seriously looking at Stella Grant.

Today, he decided to go all out!
