From morning till night, the adults at the Lu Family were chatting and laughing nonstop, their voices intermingled with the children’s playful laughter and shouting.

The sisters, their eyes red, reluctantly held their younger siblings’ hands to say goodbye.

The next day, Susu and the in-laws, with four children, boarded the bus back to the Provincial City.

Lu Gong’an and Da Hei had returned to their home in the Provincial City a few days earlier and had just arrived at the office.

The three siblings stormed into the yard like bandits, chasing Da Hei, who they hadn’t seen in days.
