From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon
Chapter 32: New Problem
CHAPTER 32: NEW PROBLEM
I stood up from the bed and went into the bathroom to clean up a bit. One look at the mirror and I could see that one of my eyes weren’t normal anymore.
The eye of a dragon was now within my right pupil.
Alright. Alright. This is a completely normal problem to deal with and I just have to handle it. Surely it can’t be that hard to just hide this from people.
As I stared at the mirror I couldn’t help but notice how tattered my clothes were from all the fighting lately too. Other than my appearance starting to resemble a dragon more and more... I needed new clothes soon.
"Damnit." I say without thinking.
How exactly do I hide this from people? Actually I have an idea but it’s definitely going to confuse anyone who saw me before the battle occurred.
I take a bandage and wrap it around my head while covering my right eye. It made it seem like I took some sort of head injury during the fight but for now this would have to do.
I’m going to seem like quite a weak hunter compared to the others at the guilds but this is the best approach for now. I don’t need anyone hunting me because of this power.
There was never a case of anyone awakening a power that changed how they looked like this. It would’ve been known everywhere if that was the case.
Knock. Knock. "You okay Rokuro?" Ghost asks from the other side of the door.
"Yeah I’m okay. Just covering a new change." I respond before opening the door.
She stood there quietly for a second as she observed the new bandage around my eye and head. "The eye is different too now, this is getting worse." Ghost says while staring intensely at me.
That made me feel even better about having this power.... I can’t help the changes that are showing themselves and I don’t have the slightest clue on how to hide them.
For now these temporary solutions will have to do until I figure this shit out.
"I’ll figure it out eventually. For now this is the solution." I respond while slipping past her.
Lilly was also up and moving now so it’s time for us to head down to Velgrade.
"Woahhh new bandage. Hehe. Mr. Dragon is becoming more and more obvious." Lilly teases as she laughs.
"Shut up... Let’s go check the quest board." I reply before heading for the door.
Everyone gathered what we needed before leaving the room since we probably won’t be coming back. The streets weren’t too crowded by the time we got outside which was nice.
Made it easier for us to make our way over to Velgrade. Upon entering the guild hall I noticed that it wasn’t as busy, not like it was the other day.
It seems most of the hunters are out doing quests of their own so that means it isn’t crowded around the quest board.
"This place is so deaddd." Lilly says with a bored tone in her voice.
"That’s good. We are just here to get a quest." I respond while leading the way.
Ghost catches up to me and walks besides me. "A new quest would be nice." She chimes in.
I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with any wandering eyes in here so that I can focus on what’s on the board. Hunters would definitely be questioning quite a bit about me since I’m new here.
They saw me fight out there but I didn’t originally have these bandages on my head so it might give a weird impression. I honestly shouldn’t care about it but I’m trying to fly under the radar here.

I accept the quest instantly and look back towards the door. "Looks like we’ll be heading for the wastelands." I say while trying to keep my calm tone.
The wasteland is considered to be suicidal to most hunters for the amount of monsters that lurk there. But a new monster appearing with a human like appearance could pose a serious problem.
It’s surprising to see a quest for the wasteland though since most hunters avoid it. Actually I think a lot of people tend to go around it or the other direction, even if it takes longer to reach the other cities.
"Ooooh I can’t wait!" Lilly shouts with excitement.
"Maybe quiet down a bit." Ghost says to Lilly.
Lilly just shrugs her off as we leave the Velgrade guild hall, people still weren’t really around much. The streets actually seem a bit dead today which is odd but it’s not a problem for me to worry about right now.
We headed for the northern gate this time around since that was the only way to really head for the wasteland when in this city.
It’s quite a decent walk to get to the border where the wasteland awaits but at least it gives me some time to mentally prepare for it. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories from the merchants that used to stop by the junkyard.
It’s a lot more brutal of a place compared to being out at night on the streets. I don’t mean inside the city either... Outside the city on the streets is usually a guarantee for something to happen but in the wasteland it’s amplified by a 100.
"Off to the wasteland we go!" Lilly shouts again.
"I’m glad you’re excited but try not to stand out while we are close to the city please." I say with a bit of an exhausted tone.
She definitely knows how to tire someone out...
The walk began with no problems really occuring, it only took a couple of hours for us to reach the entrance to the wasteland.
Everything really is a lot more intense up close.
