CHAPTER 52: THE TOWER GUIDE ARRIVES

Without wasting any time I feel a presence suddenly appear from behind me. "Hello hello! I’ll be your tower guide. You may call me Mira!" A woman says with excitement in her voice.

Quickly we both turned around to see who stood there before us. A woman with long purple hair stretching past her shoulders, red eyes, black robes with a bit of gold etched into them, double D’s, and a nice slender figure stood there.

Rokuro the perv, Rokuro the perv.

I’m sorry I don’t know what came over me but it was hard not to acknowledge what she has... It’s quite obvious and not easy to ignore in the slightest.

I also haven’t dealt with so many women before so this is also quite new to me to be experiencing. Usually I am in my own little bubble.

Smack. I feel a hand hit the back of my head before realizing that I was staring at her chest the whole time. "Hmm. Perv." Velia says with a blank expression on her face.

I couldn’t really fight that so I just kept quiet and turned my attention back to the tower guide Mira.

"I’ll be helping you understand what’s to come with these next few floors and possibly accompanying you." Mira says with a big smile across her face.

Velia never mentioned a tower guide in her story about the tower before so this is kind of strange. I wonder how much the towers change with each time someone goes through them.

She didn’t recognize some of the floors either so it definitely has me curious on how much has changed. Though, I don’t know how to feel about a guide accompanying us.

Traveling with just the two of us was enough and she probably won’t be helping out in the battles anyway.

"Why would you accompany us?" Velia asks while looking at Mira.

The blank expression she has doesn’t really help her come off as serious but I guess it doesn’t really matter. Velia is a terrifying girl regardless of what emotions she is showing to anyone.

I’m still shocked she showed anything to me back on the previous floor but I won’t question it too much.

Mira continues to keep her happy/excited expression as she begins to speak. "To offer any sort of support that I can of course. You two are the first to enter the tower so it’s the least we can do." Mira responds.

Yeah, just when I thought this couldn’t get any weirder. This guide traveling with us is definitely going to be an odd experience since I didn’t expect to have one.

We traveled throughout the floors just fine without one so I kind of figured that everything would be okay. Most of the time the doors seem to be on a straightforward path.

Unless the path takes a huge change in the higher floors which would make sense but wouldn’t it prove we are capable? I thought the point of the tower was to get stronger and prove you can get through the floors.

"What if we wouldn’t have been the first to enter?" I question while watching for any changes in her expression.

She keeps her same expression while shifting her gaze towards me.

"You would still get the same treatment but it might not be as good as what I can give you." Mira answers while blushing slightly.

....That can be taken a lot of different ways so I won’t comment on it or think about it too much. Rika will end up calling me a pervert again if I start focusing on stuff like that again.

"Weirdo. Well, inform us O so powerful tower guide." Velia says sarcastically.

Mira pulls out a projection of the tower which seems to work as a map and it shows exactly what floor we are on. "The first four floors after this will be quite easy, other than finding the door. After that we will be met with some powerful enemies to fight." Mira responds happily while pointing at each floor.

Floor 12, 13, 14, and 15 seem to be mazes of sorts with no real challenge other than finding the door. It doesn’t mean that they don’t have some sort of poison or traps hidden within them.

I doubt they’d make the early floors easy like this or else anyone would be able to get though pretty easily. I mean, the fights wouldn’t be that easy to deal with so I guess there’s that.

Lazarus was definitely the strongest enemy we fought by far but I doubt normal hunters could handle him.

"What kind of enemies?" Velia asks.

"Old souls, A Golem, and... Well let me keep that as a surprise for now. Hehe." Mira answers before letting out a small chuckle.

I can understand what a golem might be like but old souls is a complete blank for me. Maybe it is previous people that tried to climb the tower and died in the process.

"Rokuro your clothes are also completely tattered. We might need to get you something new." Velia says while looking at my outfit.

I forgot that I’ve been wearing the same clothes for a good while now... Most of which I wore in combat against a lot of different enemies. Something more durable would probably be the best option for me going forward.

"We’ll figure that out soon." I reply while looking down at myself.

Cuts were all throughout my clothes with lots of skin showing. It was still enough to cover me for the most part but the protection was basically gone.

"We can definitely prepare something for you Rokuro, at least until you leave the tower." Mira chimes in with excitement as she awaits my response.

I scratch my head and look around for a moment. "Yeah I’ll take a change of clothes." I say hesitantly.

It can’t be that bad but at the same time I don’t really know what to expect. Will it be something that hinders me?
