CHAPTER 56: CYBORG AND THE RED HAIRED DEVIL (1)

The inside of the tower floor vanishes as Ghost and Lilly sit outside waiting to see if Rokuro comes back out.

(Unknown View. Outside the Tower.)

Lilly crosses her arms as she looks over at Ghost. "I can’t believe he really went with her into the tower." Lilly says with a clearly annoyed tone.

"...Rokuro just wants to get stronger so I support his decision to head inside." Ghost replies hesitantly at first.

Lilly begins to impatiently walk back and forth as she slowly starts to get even more annoyed. "Fighting with him... That was the whole reason I thought we stuck together!" She shouts while continuing to walk back and forth.

Both of them still seem to be wearing the tattered clothes that they had since meeting Rokuro. Except Ghost kind of got some help from him before they left the Junkyard.

Nothing seems to be happening outside the tower, it was surprisingly peaceful. The wasteland is a lot more violent typically but the tower probably caused a change in the environment.

Ghost takes a seat down on an old crate that seems to hold up just enough for her to sit. "Why don’t we just relax for now, he didn’t just abandon us or anything." Ghost tries reassuring her.

Rokuro is pretty good at taking care of issues so I trust what he’ll do for us here. Ghost thinks to herself while looking up towards the sky.

"I get that, it just sucks that he decided to go in with her." Lilly says with what sounds like a bit of jealousy.

Lilly did take care of him quite a bit after he blacked out in Ashvalis but even she knew this wasn’t like her. Something like this getting under her skin this bad.

It couldn’t have been mere jealously for her to be this upset about such a thing.

"I’m still trying to understand everything better since most of my systems are still lacking in certain areas, but I think I understand what you mean." Ghost responds genuinely.

Lilly finally takes a seat across from Ghost. "I forget that you aren’t human like him sometimes, not that I’m human either. But maybe this is a chance to understand one another better." Lilly says while calming down a bit.

A bit of a curious look forms on Ghost’s face as she stares at Lilly. "I can’t really remember my past much so maybe you can share first." Ghost suggests kindly.

Lilly didn’t really know too much about her past, or rather her past here in this world. "I’ll tell you what I remember I guess." Lilly responds with a bit of nervousness in her voice.

(Lilly starts to talk.)

Obviously I’m a demon so that saves some explaining but I come from one of the 7 demonic realms. Each one has a different way of measuring power of the demons in the realms but I was lucky enough to be given a high rank.

I was one of the first S ranked demons in my realm and got to go on some of the missions to fight against humans. We were already at war with them because they wanted power.

Something our great demon lord disagreed with wholeheartedly, he didn’t believe in giving such a thing to humans. A belief that they would do far worse things than we would ever do to anyone.

It didn’t really last long at the end of the day though since we ended up fighting against a horde of monsters that suddenly attacked us.

Monsters weren’t uncommon but they were nothing like the ones in our realms so this was a different experience. Ashreavers were the first ones we encountered and then eventually husks, Whisperspawns, and even a few others that I can’t remember were there.

All caused by one strange phenomenon, a star in the sky that randomly appeared. One that was close enough for anyone to see during any time of day.

It caused in uproar in the kingdoms, one that couldn’t be stopped. People were terrified of what was happening to the land around us so we had no choice but to fight.

"So that’s why you know of the monsters here a bit, they were the same where you came from." Ghost interrupts briefly.

"Yes. I hated everything about them." Lilly says with a bit of anger before continuing.

I was with a couple of other high ranking demons fighting against the waves of monsters attacking our people. It only got harder as demons started to change as well, almost as if the star influenced the changes in them.

Eventually our realm got completely overwhelmed by the extreme numbers of these monsters. I don’t know what happened to the other 6 realms but those who could still move got sent out of the realm.

We escaped through ancient dungeons which is the last thing I can remember before finding myself in chains before you two.

(Lilly goes quiet after that for a few moments.)

Ghost seems to be taken back by the whole story as she sits there processing it all. "Being able to remember such a painful event must be awful, I couldn’t imagine what it’s like." Ghost says with a bit of sympathy in her voice.

"Yet, it’s probably still better than not being able to remember anything at all." Lilly replies with a bit of sadness in her voice.

"I did learn a bit from Rokuro after waking up so it’s not like I’m completely clueless." Ghost says while looking down at her hands.

Her hands were in pretty good shape thanks to the repairs Rokuro made on her back at the Junkyard but she knew that some parts of her needed work.

Lilly sits there quietly waiting to see if Ghost will say anything else.

"Rokuro seems to have quite the tragic past from my understanding, something that I could never grasp the feeling of." Ghost speaks with a bit of sadness in her voice.
