CHAPTER 62: REVIVAL

Looking up towards the sky I can see a bright white light beaming down, lighting up the area around us. This only proves that Rika is right and it’s time for me to get back to the fight.

"You’re right. I am powerful, I just lack the knowledge of how to use the power to it’s full extent." I say while looking back down at my hands.

She’ll be back in my head like usual after I wake up in a few seconds. Is this really the only time I’ll ever see her?

Only when we are in this abyss?

"Shall we show him how bad he messed up? Hehe." Rika says with a slight chuckle afterwards.

"Yes, let’s show him." I respond with confidence.

I reopen my eyes to the sight of the dark abyss of the tower floor and I can feel the pain slowly dissipating in my chest. My wound was healing and I could feel my heart beating once again.

It felt as if I never left the abyss at first but then I remember that the feeling is nowhere near the same. Just the darkness.

I wasn’t out very long either since I could still see the outline of that asshole in the distance. He didn’t walk very far so maybe he was taking his time.

It took a moment to stand up since my body was readjusting to my heart again. I can’t believe my heart was just gone moments ago and now it’s beating out my chest again.

I wonder what it takes to truly kill someone with power like mine.

"I’m actually at a lost for words. How?" Art questions before turning around.

Everything was flowing properly throughout my body once again, the power surging to my fists, bringing out the same red aura from before.

"Doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to give any quick deaths." I respond while ignoring his question.

Finally I could hear Velia fighting in the distance against the two girls but it was a bit faint. I’m glad to know she’s still alive and fighting hard against them.

If I didn’t get up in time then I’m sure she would’ve died if he got the chance to help out. Then again, I have no idea how strong the two of them are. I’ll have to find a way to finish this battle quickly so she’s not left fighting alone for too much longer.

I took a few deep breaths before pushing myself off the ground towards him, letting each sound pass by. Right as he was about to swing I swiftly moved to the left, not remembering that I had the wings again.

The maneuvering was a lot easier with these wings which made it easy to dodge his attack in time.

We should use something, maybe some fire would be a nice touch.

I forget that I can use stuff like that sometimes but that’s definitely not a bad idea at all. Could light the place up a bit.

Flicker. Flames begin to engulf my right hand as I swing my fist towards him. WHAM!!! My fist immediately connects with his chest and I feel the flames transfer to him.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" He begins to shout as he panics.

The pain from the punch and the flames slowly engulfing his body is probably not a fun feeling. It wasn’t the time for me to ease up on him.

"Guess it’s only right to return the favor." I say while raising my arms.

1, 3, 8, 12, 16, 20. I began punching repeatedly as his body recoils back with each hit. Blood begins hitting the floor and all I could see is soulless eyes as he takes the hits.

I’m sure he wasn’t expecting me to come back in the first place which is only normal since no one can typically.

He’s basically done, finish the fight.

The aura around my right hand begins to change to a dark purplish color before I slam my fist across his face. I didn’t stop there though since I don’t want to take any chances with this guy.

I took a step back and reel my left hand back before putting a combination of flames and power into it.

As my fist gets close to hitting him a giant wave of fire and purple energy tear through his entire body, eviscerating it entirely.

I’m a lot more tired after that fight than I expected to be... I guess that’s normal when using that kind of power against an enemy like him.

Wait... Rika said he was human before didn’t she?

"Gahh. This hurts..." I say softly as I fall to my knees.

Gripping my chest it felt like something wanted to tear me apart, the world was spinning all around me too. The red haze was even darker than before as well.

The urge to kill is overwhelming isn’t it? I managed to hold myself back this time but can you?

I’m glad you could keep yourself under control since it made everything a lot more difficult last time. I should be able to handle it but this is extremely painful and I’m trying not to fall over.

This is a lot more intense than the last time I killed a human being so I don’t know how to get through it yet.

Just focus on something peaceful, whether it be a memory or someone you care for.

I’ll do my best to try and do that...

"Rokuro you look funny. Haha." Ghost says with a laugh following after.

Ghost... I haven’t seen her since I entered the tower so losing control here would mean the worst possible outcome. Even if Ghost and Lilly aren’t human... I don’t want to do something by accident.

"The Pervy dragon Rokuro. I remember the way you looked at me when we met." Lilly Teases.

I wasn’t even being a perv! I was just observing her appearance to see what kind of person she was. Making sure she wasn’t hiding some secret weapon or something too!

Fond choices huh. Hehe. You really are a perv aren’t you Rokuro. Looking at women like you’ve been lately.

Not you too Rika... I guess you do always call me out on it.
