Chapter 29: Purchase Complete—Having a Car Is So Comfortable!
“I like you, Cui Hao! Perfect timing!”
Rong Shuang changed into a white tank top and a dark blue knee-length skirt, pairing them with black leather shoes. She tied up her hair and let it fall loosely over her shoulders, looking absolutely stunning.
She was so beautiful that even Jiang Feng was momentarily dazzled.
“We’re heading out now. We’ll bring you dinner when we come back tonight,” Rong Shuang said, glancing at the sofa.
A hand emerged from the couch, giving an “OK” sign.
“Let’s go.”
Jiang Feng and Rong Shuang left together and hailed a taxi.
“If you’re feeling unwell, take a nap. I’ll wake you when we arrive,” Jiang Feng said softly.
“Okay,” Rong Shuang replied, closing her eyes.
She was still a little uncomfortable, and having just eaten, she felt drowsy. Within minutes, she drifted off to sleep, her head tilting slightly and resting on Jiang Feng’s shoulder.
Jiang Feng caught the faint scent of her shampoo—the same fragrance as the one in her home. Her soft hair spilled over his shoulder, tickling him slightly. After a brief hesitation, he decided not to push her away.
She’s asleep—no point waking her.
The taxi driver glanced in the rearview mirror, shooting Jiang Feng an envious look.
2:30 PM
Jiang Feng gently nudged Rong Shuang awake. “We’re here.”
The moment she heard his voice, Rong Shuang jolted awake and quickly wiped her mouth.
Did I drool on him?!
Being next to Jiang Feng made her feel so at ease that she had fallen into a deep sleep without realizing it.
“Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
They stepped out of the car together.
A man in a white dress shirt, black trousers, and black-framed glasses approached them.
“Mr. Jiang Feng?”
“That’s me. You must be Manager Chen?”
“Correct! Come, let me take you to the showroom to see the car first. Here, have some water.”
Manager Chen handed them two bottles of Mizone. Jiang Feng took them and glanced at Rong Shuang.
“Thirsty? Want me to open one for you?”
“Not right now. I’ll just keep them for later.”
She took both bottles and tucked them into her bag.
As they walked, Manager Chen remarked with admiration, “You two have such a loving relationship—it’s obvious how devoted you are. Mr. Jiang, I envy you. Your wife is gorgeous.”
Rong Shuang’s face flushed bright red, but she didn’t correct him.
Jiang Feng clarified, “She’s not my wife.”
Manager Chen chuckled awkwardly. “Not married yet? Still, having such a beautiful girlfriend is something to envy.”
“She’s not my girlfriend either.”
Manager Chen paused, then gave an even more impressed look. “Ah, I see. Don’t worry—our dealership is very discreet about clients’ private matters. If anyone asks, I’ll say you came alone.”
Clearly, he assumed Jiang Feng was here with a mistress.
Jiang Feng sighed but didn’t bother correcting him further. “She’s my daughter’s kindergarten teacher.”
Manager Chen’s eyes widened in shock before filling with admiration.
Damn, this guy’s playing on another level!
At this point, the misunderstanding had only deepened. Jiang Feng decided to drop the matter.
Soon, the three arrived at the dealership. A few female sales associates glanced at Jiang Feng, their eyes lighting up.
What a handsome guy!
They would’ve loved to give him a personal demonstration—maybe even join him for a test drive. But when they noticed Rong Shuang beside him, they quickly backed off.
Rong Shuang was breathtaking. With a goddess like her around, they stood no chance.
In the showroom, Jiang Feng and Rong Shuang inspected the actual car. It matched Jiang Feng’s expectations—spacious, decent build quality, and fitting for its price range. A solid, no-frills family vehicle.
“Shall we take it for a spin?” Manager Chen asked. “You do have a driver’s license, right?”
“I do. Let’s go.”
Jiang Feng took the driver’s seat, Rong Shuang sat beside him, and Manager Chen settled in the back.
“We’ll drive around the designated route. I’ll guide you,” Manager Chen said.
Test drives had to stay within approved areas.
Jiang Feng nodded. “Got it. Heading out now.”
He adjusted the seat and steering wheel, fastened his seatbelt, and checked that Rong Shuang had done the same. Then he started the car, gently pressing the accelerator.
The electric vehicle was quiet—no engine noise—and the interior smelled fresh. The air conditioning worked perfectly.
After a smooth test drive, Jiang Feng was satisfied. It was exactly what he needed: a practical, everyday car.
“I’ll take it. Do you have one in stock?”
“We’ve got a silver one that just arrived. The previous buyer canceled the order.”
“Let me take a look.”
Jiang Feng inspected the vehicle—glass production date, manufacturing stamp, tire age—everything matched. The odometer reading was normal, and the only minor wear appeared to be from transport.
“Any discounts?”
“Not currently, but the battery, motor, and electric system come with a lifetime warranty for the first owner. We’ll also throw in six free maintenance services.”
Jiang Feng agreed. “Done. I’ll pay in full—I’ve got all my documents. Can we do the inspection and license plate selection today?”
“Absolutely.”
Forty minutes later, the payment was processed, insurance was secured, the car passed inspection, and a temporary license plate was issued. Jiang Feng was ready to drive off.
Manager Chen smiled. “Feel free to contact me if you have any issues.”
“Will do.”
The purchase went smoothly.
Rong Shuang sat in the passenger seat, watching the light rain outside while enjoying the cool air conditioning. She loved this car—because it was Jiang Feng’s.
“This is so comfortable,” she murmured.
Jiang Feng was in a good mood too. “Yeah, having a car in the rain really makes a difference.”
Before this, if he wanted to drive, he had to check with Xu Na first. If she needed the car, he’d have to take a taxi.
Now, he had his own vehicle—no restrictions, no answering to anyone.
Freedom felt amazing.
At a red light, Jiang Feng glanced at Rong Shuang. “Feeling better?”
“Your face is still a little red.”
Rong Shuang turned away, her voice soft. “I’m much better now.”
She was thinking about her confession—the first time she’d ever planned to confess to someone. The sheer embarrassment made her cheeks burn.
Jiang Feng frowned slightly. “Let’s just take you home. The redness looks unusual.”
“Really, I’m fine. Let’s get the groceries first—we’re running out of time.”
“Alright.”
They soon reached the market.
“Wow, Boss Jiang bought a car?”
“Nice ride! Our domestic electric vehicles are getting better and better.”
“I’d love to buy one too, but my wife insists on a Volkswagen. So annoying—I envy you, Boss Jiang!”
Jiang Feng chatted with the familiar vendors as he picked up ingredients. Then he drove back to the shop.
Having a car was convenient. Shopping became much easier, and since it was electric, parking near a charging station was no hassle.
Jiang Feng unloaded the groceries, parked the car nearby, and walked back—just three minutes. Far better than going on foot!
Inside the shop, Rong Shuang had already started cleaning.
Jiang Feng took the rag from her hands. “Go rest. If you try to work today, I will send you home.”
Being cared for by someone she liked made Rong Shuang’s heart race even faster. She looked back at him, the words I like you almost escaping her lips.
Just then—
Cui Hao pushed the door open.
“Old Jiang! Save me 30 buns for tonight—my army buddy’s visiting, and I want him to try your cooking!”
Rong Shuang swallowed her confession and quickly sat down, pretending nothing had happened.
Just a little longer…
She would confess today!
