From Ignored to Adored: The Heiress Melts the Self-Restrained Boss
Chapter 12: Standing Up for My Wife
CHAPTER 12: CHAPTER 12: STANDING UP FOR MY WIFE
Just now, Jessica Hart deliberately cast a flirtatious glance at him. Caden Hawthorne had seen many women trying to seduce him, so these minor tricks were nothing new to him.
"President Hawthorne, I’m really sorry!" Chairman Sinclair apologized repeatedly: "It’s the employees’ negligence, and we leaders haven’t set a good example."
As he spoke, Chairman Sinclair cast a harsh glare at Sean Sinclair. He understood his son the best, spending all day at the company with no proper conduct, mingling with employees, and engaging in secret relationships.
He had heard a little about these things.
Sean Sinclair received the warning look from Chairman Sinclair and quickly agreed, "President Hawthorne is right. We will definitely improve according to your guidance."
Upon hearing this, Caden Hawthorne’s eyes landed on the file in his hand, his gaze becoming sharp. He deliberately asked, "What is this?"
Sean Sinclair snapped back to reality, immediately handed the file to Caden Hawthorne, and said hastily, "This is the design proposal from our company intern, and it’s also this month’s new product. President Hawthorne, this concerns the future development of our company, and we hope you can provide your guidance."
Caden Hawthorne opened Vivian Lynch’s design proposal, seeing her jewelry design was bold in color, clear in structure, and innovative, making it refreshing to the eye.
"Is this designed by your company staff?"
"Yes, her name is Vivian Lynch, she’s an intern this term," Sean Sinclair nodded in response, feeling a bit nervous inside.
Originally, interns were not qualified to participate in this design proposal, but due to the company’s inability to produce outstanding works, they allowed interns to participate.
Sean Sinclair and Vivian Lynch graduated from the same university, and he highly agreed with her design philosophy, having to admit she was very talented.
Vivian Lynch, beautiful as she was, lacked the charm of a woman, sometimes being too wooden, making her seem a bit uninteresting.
After pursuing Vivian Lynch, Sean Sinclair found that she wasn’t as alluring as other women, and over time, he lost interest.
"For a little intern to produce such an excellent proposal, it seems your company’s proper designers must be quite incompetent."
After speaking, Caden Hawthorne stood up, slammed the file onto the coffee table, and said in a deep voice, "Today’s inspection ends here. Bryan Coleman, we’re leaving."
"Yes, President Hawthorne." Bryan Coleman nodded slightly from the side.
Caden Hawthorne took the lead to walk out of the office, Bryan Coleman nodded slightly to the Sinclair father and son, then followed them out.
The Sinclair father and son watched the back of Caden Hawthorne as he left, their expressions growing complex.
Chairman Sinclair picked up the proposal on the table and began to look through it, then nodded in praise, "Good, very good design."
Vivian Lynch was working at her post, first seeing Jessica Hart come out looking deflated, then seeing Caden Hawthorne and Bryan Coleman walk out.
As they passed by Vivian Lynch, Caden Hawthorne suddenly stopped.
Vivian Lynch kept her head down, not daring to look at him. Because she was nervous, her hand holding the mouse started sweating, and her heart raced uncontrollably.
"You must be Vivian Lynch, right?" Caden Hawthorne’s voice came from above her head, carrying a hint of teasing.
Vivian Lynch saw a pair of polished leather shoes suddenly appear at her feet. She slowly raised her head and met Caden Hawthorne’s deep eyes.
"I... I am." Vivian Lynch stood up anxiously, her speech starting to falter.
Damn it! Clearly, the man in front of her was the husband she just married, but why was she so nervous seeing him?
Especially when all the employees’ eyes were fixated on them.
This pretending-not-to-know-each-other thing made the atmosphere really awkward.
Just then, Chairman Sinclair and Sean Sinclair chased after them.
Sean Sinclair thought Vivian Lynch had offended Caden Hawthorne and immediately tried to smooth things over, "President Hawthorne, she’s our company’s intern, Vivian Lynch, and the design proposal just now was done by her."
Upon hearing this, Caden Hawthorne’s gaze moved back and forth between Vivian Lynch and Sean Sinclair.
Chairman Sinclair looked at Vivian Lynch, his eyes showing a hint of appreciation, "Vivian Lynch, we’ve just reviewed your design proposal. It’s excellent, you’re practically a blessing to our company."
"Chairman Sinclair praises too highly. The company giving interns like us this opportunity is also a kind of recognition of our abilities," Vivian Lynch spoke confidently, wearing a graceful and appropriate smile.
Caden Hawthorne turned to look at Chairman Sinclair, smiling faintly, "Chairman Sinclair, Miss Lynch’s design is innovative and bold in color. She’s an exceptional talent. If your company doesn’t lack interns, perhaps you should consider transferring her to the Hawthorne Group."
Surprise flashed in Vivian Lynch’s eyes. Did he just compliment her? Does this mean she’s earned his approval?
Or was he just doing this to help her?
"President Hawthorne, you’re joking," Sean Sinclair spoke up at this moment: "The Hawthorne Group has plenty of talent, and Vivian Lynch is just a little intern, probably unqualified to enter such a large company as the Hawthorne Group."
Sean Sinclair’s words left Vivian Lynch in silence.
Yes! What kind of place is the Hawthorne Group? A top-listed company in the country, how could a little intern like her dare to dream of it?
Even if she completes her internship and obtains a designer qualification, she wouldn’t dare to hope she could join the Hawthorne Group.
Jessica Hart was already jealous of Vivian Lynch, and now seeing her gain Caden Hawthorne’s appreciation made her even more unhappy, so she immediately chimed in, "Exactly, President Hawthorne, Vivian Lynch is just a kid from the slums. What does she know about real design? You definitely shouldn’t get the wrong idea."
Caden Hawthorne’s gaze turned cold, and his fists clenched suddenly.
Bryan Coleman, seeing this, couldn’t help but shiver.
He knew Master Hawthorne well; this was the calm before the storm, ready to break out at any moment.
These two dared to disparage his wife right in front of Master Hawthorne; who wouldn’t be able to stand it?
Caden Hawthorne said coldly, "The Hawthorne Group always hires talented and capable employees, never asking about their background. As long as Miss Lynch is willing, the Hawthorne Group’s doors are always open."
Upon hearing these words, everyone looked at Vivian Lynch with a face full of astonishment, their expressions filled with disbelief.
"As for you..." Caden Hawthorne smirked coldly, "Ill-intentioned, always thinking about shortcuts, but incapable yourself, naturally can’t see the talent in others."
Jessica Hart was left speechless, her face burning red from Caden Hawthorne’s retort.
People around her looked at her with disdainful eyes, some even showing contempt and disdain.
Vivian Lynch had never seen Caden Hawthorne arguing with someone before; little did she know he could argue so handsomely. Was this really the notoriously aloof, high-cold abstinent President Hawthorne?
"President Sinclair, I..." Jessica Hart, her face flushed red, was about to ask Sean Sinclair to judge for her.
Unexpectedly, the next second, Chairman Sinclair spoke angrily, "Secretary Hart, you’re fired!"
