Chapter 22: She’s Carrying Twins
CHAPTER 22: CHAPTER 22: SHE’S CARRYING TWINS
Hearing this, Vivian’s face showed a hint of joy, "Really?"
Caden Hawthorne opened his mouth, just about to speak, when the announcement called Vivian’s name.
"Let’s go in and see first!" Caden held Vivian’s hand and walked into the doctor’s office.
"Doctor, how is my wife’s condition?"
Caden saw the doctor staring at the ultrasound sheet with a serious expression, and he couldn’t help but get nervous.
After looking, the doctor handed them the examination sheet and smiled, "Congratulations, sir, your wife is pregnant with twins."
"Twins?"
Hearing this, both Caden and Vivian looked shocked.
The doctor nodded, "Currently, the fetuses are developing well, but the pregnant woman needs to rest more, eat lightly, and keep a cheerful mood. If morning sickness is severe, she can eat more fruits to supplement vitamins."
Vivian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry; it happened on the first try, and it was twins.
Caden was worried about Vivian’s health and couldn’t help but ask, "Doctor, can my wife’s body handle twins?"
He heard that pregnancy can be quite tiring, especially since Vivian was carrying twins, and he was concerned her body couldn’t take it.
The doctor glanced at the couple and replied with a smile, "Don’t worry! This is Miss Lynch’s first pregnancy, so as long as she’s careful, there should be no problems."
At this point, the doctor added, "You two look young, so I have to remind you that you should avoid intercourse during the first three months of pregnancy."
Hearing this, Caden’s handsome face showed some embarrassment.
Vivian blushed, looked down, and whispered, "Thank you, doctor, we will be careful."
Afterward, the doctor prescribed folic acid tablets and some medication to protect the pregnancy for Vivian.
Leaving the hospital, Caden carefully helped Vivian into the car.
Sitting in the driver’s seat, Caden thought of the doctor’s advice and couldn’t help but say, "It looks like I need to arrange for a specialized nutritionist to adjust your diet."
Vivian was a bit surprised and looked up at him, "Isn’t that too much trouble?"
Caden’s gaze fell on her belly, and he said seriously, "How can this be trouble? I need to ensure you and the babies get proper nutrition."
No wonder she had a poor appetite and severe vomiting lately; with two little ones inside her petite frame, he needed to pay more attention to her diet and nutrition.
Vivian felt warm inside, leaned back in her seat, and a happy smile spread across her face.
"By the way, I don’t think you need to go work at Sinclair anymore, just stay home and rest,"
Caden seemed to have thought of something and added.
Vivian frowned slightly and couldn’t help but say, "I’ve already submitted my resignation."
Hearing she had resigned, Caden felt a hint of joy inside.
Caden smiled, started the car slowly, and pretended to be casual, "That’s just perfect; that kind of chaotic place isn’t suitable for you."
Hearing this, Vivian sighed lightly, "Actually, I’d rather go to work than stay at home."
She was at a stage where she was striving for her career, but unexpectedly got pregnant, preventing her from working, which made Vivian feel a bit regretful.
Caden glanced at her and said indifferently, "Don’t worry, after you have the babies, if you want to work, I can arrange for you to join the company. But now, what you need to do is focus on nurturing the pregnancy."
Hearing this, Vivian lowered her eyelids and nodded slightly, "Okay."
Upon returning to Hartswell Manor, Caden carefully helped Vivian into the villa.
"You rest for a while, I’ll get you some water." After Caden said this, he pressed Vivian down onto the sofa to sit, then turned to get her some water.
Seeing Caden suddenly become gentle and considerate, Vivian felt a bit unaccustomed, and their relationship quietly changed at that moment.
Old Master Hawthorne came downstairs, and seeing Vivian back, he immediately walked over.
"Vivian’s back?"
"Grandpa..." Vivian called out with a smile.
"What did the doctor say?" Old Master Hawthorne asked about Vivian’s condition as soon as he sat down.
"The doctor said I’m fine! The babies are doing great too." Saying this, Vivian handed over the examination report to Old Master Hawthorne.
"Grandpa, the doctor also said I’m carrying twins."
Hearing this, Old Master Hawthorne was overjoyed, quickly took the sheet from Vivian’s hand, and indeed saw on it the ultrasound indication: "Intrauterine early pregnancy (double gestational sacs)."
"This is wonderful." Seeing the ultrasound results, Old Master Hawthorne was over the moon, "The Hawthorne Family will finally have heirs, and two at once."
Old Master Hawthorne held Vivian’s hand, full of excitement, "Vivian, you’re truly the good fortune of our Hawthorne Family!"
At this moment, Caden came over with a glass of water, seeing Old Master Hawthorne as happy as a child, he couldn’t help but smile, "Grandpa, you realize my worth now?"
Old Master Hawthorne gave him a sidelong glance, "You little rascal, how about you! You bullied Vivian and don’t even plan to take responsibility. If it weren’t for my cunning, I wouldn’t have seen my adorable great-grandsons born."
Thinking back, Old Master Hawthorne felt a sense of relief that he had investigated secretly.
Faced with Old Master Hawthorne’s reproach, Caden could only laugh awkwardly and handed the water to Vivian.
Vivian reached out to take it, also feeling a bit embarrassed, and couldn’t help but explain, "Grandpa, it’s not Caden’s fault, it was my idea not to have him take responsibility."
"Vivian, don’t worry, with grandpa here, I won’t let this rascal bully you," Old Master Hawthorne patted her hand, giving her a reassuring look.
Vivian just smiled without speaking.
Suddenly remembering something, Old Master Hawthorne quickly took out his phone, "By the way, Caden’s mom doesn’t know you’re having twins yet, I need to send her a photo."
Saying this, Old Master Hawthorne took a photo and promptly sent it to Mrs. Hawthorne, who was overseas.
As night fell, the neon lights on the street flickered like stars, weaving a colorful, magnificent scene.
"Master Hawthorne, what have you been busy with lately? Haven’t seen you all day."
In the bar, Zachary Sutton looked at Caden Hawthorne sitting on the sofa, with a young master’s posture, and an unapproachable expression.
Caden tilted his head slightly and drank the wine in his hand, saying coldly, "Family matters."
Zachary raised an eyebrow, sidling closer, "Oh, are the family matters bothering you Hawthorne, is it perhaps for that woman who slept with you and ran away?"
Caden glanced at him but said nothing, yet the look in his eyes seemed to confirm it.
Seeing this, Zachary laughed heartily, "Didn’t expect, even our Master Hawthorne has a time when he’s caught by a woman."
Caden frowned, "What are you talking about!"
Zachary ceased laughing and asked seriously, "But seriously, haven’t you found her yet?"
