CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: ZACHARY, IT’S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU

Riley Hawthorne circled around, realizing she lost track of him. She wasn’t sure if Caden Hawthorne did it on purpose, leading her in circles until she got completely lost.

At that moment, Riley’s sports car was stopped on a deserted road, having broken down, and she was on the phone looking for someone to repair it.

Who would have thought that she’d encounter a drunk, reeking of alcohol, approaching her.

"Hey little miss, what’s wrong? Need some help from big brother?"

Seeing the drunk, Riley instinctively took a step back, displeased, she said: "No need, scram, quickly!"

But the drunk was persistent, continuing to approach Riley with a grin, "Don’t be so fierce, little miss, big brother just wants to help you."

Riley frowned, her eyes filled with disgust, "I’m warning you, don’t come any closer, or I’ll call the police."

The drunk seemed unafraid, becoming even bolder, "Call the police? Go ahead. In this desolate place, I’d like to see who can help you."

Riley felt a wave of panic. She gripped her phone tightly, only to find it had no signal at this crucial moment.

She looked around, hoping to see someone passing by.

But on this remote road, not a single person was around.

She tried to stay calm and again warned the drunk, "If you don’t leave now, when my friend gets here, you’ll be sorry."

The drunk just laughed, "Your friend? Who knows when they’ll come. Instead of waiting, why don’t you entertain big brother and I’ll leave." As he spoke, he reached out to grab Riley.

Riley quickly dodged, filled with fear and anger.

Without a word, she turned and ran to the other side of the car.

Seeing this, the drunk hurriedly chased after her.

Just as Riley was feeling hopeless, she suddenly heard the roar of a car getting closer.

A black car sped toward her and stopped by her side.

The car door opened, and a tall figure stepped out.

Seeing that familiar figure, Riley felt as if she saw her knight in shining armor coming to rescue her.

Indeed, this knight in shining armor was Zachary Sutton, her brother’s childhood friend and her crush.

At the sight of Zachary, Riley’s eyes filled with delight, and she quickly ran towards him, "Zachary..."

Zachary’s tall figure exuded a steady aura as he immediately shielded Riley behind him, looking sharply at the drunk.

The drunk was intimidated by Zachary’s presence and involuntarily stopped.

Zachary glared coldly at the drunk and sternly said, "What do you think you’re doing?"

The drunk opened his mouth, seemingly sobering up slightly, and stammered, "N-nothing, I just wanted to help."

Zachary unconsciously clenched his fist, coldly warning, "There’s no need for your help here. You better get lost unless you want to taste my fists."

Hearing this, the drunk dared not linger and fled.

Riley was filled with emotion, her heart racing as she looked at Zachary’s back.

Zachary turned to her, noticing her somewhat pale face, and asked with concern, "Riley, are you okay?"

Riley immediately threw herself into Zachary’s arms, crying, "Zachary, it’s so good to see you."

Zachary patted her head, comforting, "It’s okay, it’s okay. How did you end up alone in this deserted place?"

Upon hearing this, Riley released Zachary, pouting in displeasure, "Don’t mention it! It’s all my brother’s fault. He went to retaliate for my sister-in-law but didn’t take me along. I tailed him but lost track, ending up here."

Hearing her, Zachary couldn’t help but chuckle.

With Riley’s driving skills, she thought she could keep up with Caden? What was she thinking?

But luckily she did run into him; otherwise, things could have been dangerous just now.

Zachary’s gaze fell on her car, and he couldn’t help but ask, "What happened to your car?" Riley helplessly replied, "The car broke down. I was calling for repair when I ran into that man. It was frightening. Luckily you showed up."

Zachary volunteered, "Let me take a look for you."

As he spoke, he walked to the car, lifted the hood, and started inspecting it.

Riley stood on the side, quietly watching Zachary’s serious expression, her eyes showing admiration.

"Zachary, you know how to fix cars?"

As Zachary tinkered with the car, he replied, "A little, I’ve encountered similar situations before, so I researched it myself."

Riley’s admiration grew as she watched Zachary deftly handle various tools, her heart full of joy.

After a while, Zachary stood up, wiped the oil off his hands, and said, "It’s not a big problem, just a loose part. I’ve taken care of it."

Riley excitedly said, "Great, Zachary, you’re amazing!"

Zachary smiled, "You can drive safely now, but don’t come to such remote places alone again."

Riley obediently nodded, playfully sticking out her tongue, "I got it, Zachary."

Seeing Riley’s cute demeanor, warmth surged in Zachary’s heart.

He had watched Riley grow up, and in his heart, he already considered her as his little sister.

But then Riley went to study abroad.

They hadn’t seen each other for three years, and he noticed Riley had grown taller and seemed even more beautiful than before.

Zachary habitually patted her head, speaking gently, "How about I take you home? To avoid any more accidents."

Riley’s face instantly blossomed with a radiant smile, "Sure, Zachary."

She happily sat in her sports car, while Zachary drove his black car in front to lead the way.

Along the way, Riley felt extraordinarily happy, occasionally glancing at Zachary’s car in front of her, her heart full of sweetness.

Unexpectedly, this accident let her run into Zachary. Could this be fate?

Either way, it seemed like a blessing in disguise; she now had plenty of time to be around Zachary.

Caden Hawthorne rushed to the hospital, finding Mrs. Hawthorne by the bedside, looking worried.

"Mom, what happened to Vivian?"

Seeing Caden arrive, Mrs. Hawthorne immediately stood up, "Son, Vivian fainted. The doctor said she was just a bit stimulated and hasn’t been sleeping well during pregnancy. But she’s alright now, and so is the child. She should wake up soon."

"Stimulation?" Caden caught the key point, "Mom, what exactly happened?"

Mrs. Hawthorne recounted the events at the mall to Caden.

Caden tightened his fist, anger flashing in his eyes, "Damn Jessica Hart!"
