CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49: THE PETAL BATH PREPARED FOR US

Upon hearing this, Vivian couldn’t help but break into a joyful smile and replied, "Okay."

The car continued to glide smoothly down the road, with Vivian nestled in Caden Hawthorne’s arms, listening to his strong heartbeat that filled her with peace and calm.

After dropping Stella Fletcher off at her apartment, they returned to Hartswell Manor.

Entering the house, they saw Mrs. Hawthorne busily preparing a lavish dinner in the dining room while Riley Hawthorne sat quietly on the sofa, clutching a pillow and watching TV with rapt attention.

"Brother, Sister-in-law, you’re back!" Riley greeted them happily.

Caden turned and instructed Bryan Coleman, "Assistant Coleman, just hand over the things my wife bought to Uncle Hughes."

Simon Hughes hurriedly stepped forward to take the items. Seeing all the things Vivian had purchased, Riley couldn’t resist her curiosity and asked, "Sister-in-law, what did you buy? Is there anything for me?"

"Of course there is," Vivian replied with a warm smile, "It’s all gifts for you and Mom, along with some beautiful clothes."

Upon hearing this, Riley couldn’t wait and walked over, her face brimming with happiness, saying, "Thank you, Sister-in-law. Uncle Hughes, show me quickly."

"Yes, Miss," Simon replied.

Caden frowned slightly, pretending to be displeased, "Is there nothing for me?"

Vivian chuckled softly and replied gently, "How could we forget Eldest Young Master Hawthorne?"

With that, Vivian took the things she bought for Caden from Simon and handed them to him.

"These are all for you."

Caden was finally satisfied, smiling as he said, "That’s more like it."

At this moment, Mrs. Hawthorne came over, her face full of maternal love, saying, "Son, daughter-in-law, you’re back! Hurry up and wash your hands to eat!"

Seeing Mrs. Hawthorne, Bryan promptly greeted her with respect, "Good evening, ma’am!"

Mrs. Hawthorne smiled and waved at him, kindly inviting, "Oh, Bryan’s here too! Just in time, join us for dinner before you leave!"

"Thank you, ma’am," Bryan nodded slightly, looking delighted.

Everyone gathered at the dining table. The table was laden with delicious dishes, their aroma wafting through the air.

Thoughtfully, Caden pulled out a chair for Vivian to sit before taking a seat beside her. Riley eagerly opened the gift Vivian gave her, joy spreading across her face.

"Sister-in-law, I love the gift you got me! These clothes are also beautiful," Riley said excitedly.

Mrs. Hawthorne watched the joyful family scene, feeling deeply gratified.

When she heard Vivian also had a gift for her, she tenderly said, "Vivian, you’re so thoughtful. You don’t need to buy us gifts in the future; it’s enough for us to be happy together as a family."

Vivian smiled as she replied, "Mom, it’s just a token of my affection, please accept it!"

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Hawthorne accepted Vivian’s gift and pulled a black card from her bag, slipping it into her hand.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Vivian asked, surprised.

Mrs. Hawthorne chuckled, "Since you gave me a gift, as a mother-in-law, I should return the gesture. Take this card, use it freely, don’t worry about saving money for Mom."

Vivian quickly refused, "Mom, I can’t accept this."

But Mrs. Hawthorne insisted, "Vivian, you should take it. It’s a token of my affection for you. Now that you’re pregnant, you shouldn’t take any less care of yourself."

Caden watched her warmly from the side, also saying, "Vivian, since Mom is giving it to you, you should accept it."

Seeing she couldn’t refuse, Vivian took the black card, feeling moved, "Thank you, Mom."

Riley envyingly remarked from the side, "Sister-in-law, Mom is so nice to you. I never get this kind of treatment."

Mrs. Hawthorne laughed and patted Riley’s head, "You, child, always telling tall tales. When have I ever treated you poorly?"

Bryan and Simon ate their dinner in silence, watching the happy family scene with eyes full of envy.

The family continued to enjoy the delicious dinner amid laughter and joy.

After dinner, Riley clung to Vivian, asking her to try on the new clothes with her and show everyone.

Able to resist no longer, Vivian went to her room’s dressing area to change into new clothes.

As she emerged, she caught everyone’s attention. Caden’s eyes were filled with amazement as he walked over to Vivian and quietly said, "Vivian, you look stunning."

Despite being three months pregnant, Vivian’s belly showed no hint, and her figure remained elegant; if she didn’t tell, no one could guess she was expecting.

Riley clapped in admiration, "Sister-in-law, you’re like a natural mannequin; everything looks good on you."

Mrs. Hawthorne also nodded in agreement, "Vivian, you indeed look beautiful, and the clothes suit you perfectly."

Vivian felt a bit shy from the compliments, a blush rising on her cheeks.

Shortly after, Riley joined in, and she and Vivian turned into runway models, showcasing those lovely clothes on themselves.

Caden, Mrs. Hawthorne, Butler Hughes, and Bryan all enthusiastically clapped and cheered.

"With such a figure and looks, it’s a pity if the young mistress doesn’t become a model," Bryan couldn’t help but give a thumbs up in praise.

Simon echoed, "Exactly! The young mistress looks great in everything."

"Miss Riley too is terrific."

Trying on clothes was momentarily delightful, but cleaning up was a disaster.

Vivian sat on the bed, folding clothes one by one, sighing, "Trying on clothes is a workout too, and cleaning up is exhausting."

Nearby, Caden, sending messages in a work group, heard Vivian’s complaint and walked over to her.

"Worn out?"

Vivian looked up at Caden, nodding slightly, "A little."

Caden smiled fondly, pulling her up and leading her to sit in a nearby chair.

"You take a break, I’ll clean up." He said and started tidying the clothes.

Vivian was a bit surprised, "How can this be? You’re President Hawthorne; you shouldn’t be doing this."

While tidying up, Caden looked up at her, his gaze deep, saying, "Just a small matter, in front of you, I’m not a president, just your husband."

Vivian felt warmth in her heart, watching Caden seriously organizing the clothes, thinking he looked especially handsome at the moment.

She sat quietly beside him, her gaze never leaving Caden.

Soon, Caden finished organizing the clothes.

He walked over to Vivian, gently held her hand, "All done, must’ve been a tiring day? I’ll go run a hot bath for you, take a relaxing soak."

Vivian looked at him with gratitude, nodding, "Okay."

Then she watched Caden walk into the bathroom.

Soon, the bathroom filled up with steamy mist.

Caden carefully prepared a towel and robe for Vivian, then took her hand and led her to the bathroom.

Vivian noticed red rose petals sprinkled in the bathtub and chuckled softly, "I didn’t expect Master Hawthorne to be so romantic."

"Of course, it’s a petal bath prepared for the two of us," Caden smiled with a hint of mischief.

"The two of us?" Vivian found it hard to believe her ears.
